THE ONLY CRITICS OF BEYONCE’S ACTING IS HER HATERS. Media coverage of her acting is great and she even got a GG nomination that NO ONE can buy. Her singing and stage show she has in the bag – ain’t NOBODY F’ING WITH MS. B WHEN IT COMES TO SINGING AND DANCING…. LIVE I MIGHT ADD. For those saying this is a remake of Fatal Attraction, most all big movies today are remakes of the past with big actors starring in them – Denzel, Tom Hanks, Leo D., etc. She didn’t have chance to get a role showing a range of EMOTIONS which is why the haters are naysayers of her acting. She’s doing it right – she started slow and is building up to those role – LIKE THIS ONE. ALSO, SHE’S THE EXECUTIVE PRODUCER OF THIS JOINT so kudo’s to her for that. She has a fight scene with Ali Larter and I’m sure that’ll be interesting. Beyonce keeps winning that’s why ya’ll keep hating. Give this girl her props for being as good for as long as she has instead of trying to tear her down before this movie’s even out.

Beyonce is pretty and she can sing, but acting is not something she is good at. I have seen all the movies she has been in on tv (I have not been to a movie theater in years) and I have not been impressed by her at all. I truely believe she gets role based on who she is, and not what she can do as an actress.

@ 103 and 105 Box office numbers don’t mean anything unless you having an OSCAR for your debut role. Let’s get real in here. I swear I think some of you are on this girl’s payroll. Yes, she did shot Beyonce down in the Dreamgirls movie. She also did it when they performed on stage at the American Music Awards. Her acting was wayyyy more believable. Yes, she is “NEW” to the game but she can do the damn thang. Beyonce can’t act and that’s that. Some of these people on this post don’t know the difference between “hating” and having an honest opinion based on your evaluation of the artist work.
It is safe to say that Beyonce has been a lot more laid back about her movie roles since the whole Dreamgirls drama. I think she counted her chickens before the eggs hatched and truly believed that her popularity in the music world would guarantee her an Oscar award. Love her as a performer, but not as an actress. Anyway, I will wait until this movie premieres on cable as I have no interest in seeing it just because she is in it.

I think that Beyonce would be better off on Broadway. There are some performers that can make that transition from performing to “the big screen” and she is clearly not one of them….she needs to go to Broadway and try it out like Usher did. She honestly has no depth or character within herself, that can transcend to the silver screen. Not hating on Beyonce, but honestly….her sister Solange has more appeal on screen that just another pretty face (Think about this, every movie she ever played in she was just another anat object or sex figure, something that is not out of character for her).

As for acting, I’m with those that think she still has to prove herself. Simply being in monetarily successful films does not substaniate one’s acting talents. Also, those high-grossing films did not earn alot of money b/c of Beyonce. Austin Powers, Pink Panther and Dreamgirls all would have been big earners regardless. They already had built-in cult audiences.
I’ll be interested to see how her current acting endeavors turn out. I commend her for working so hard, that’s for sure.

With that being said, I hope this move does well. She is going to have to reeeeally bring it and I feel she’s capable of doing so. The expectations are going to be very high after the praise she received for Dreamgirls. And most are going to expect her to really go deep because this movie (hopefully) has nothing to do with her singing.

What I hate, and i KNOW will happen. Is…Beyonce will get all the spotlight of this movie, and Idris will get only very limited. They always give the people with big names out there, the majority of the spotlight, and leave the other people as “co-stars”…. shame. Because Idris is a damn good actor.
Beyonce has proven herself to be a fine actress and the crtics agree. Every movie she’s done she’s gotten nothing less than a B+ in reviews. She’s growing by doing more emotional roles and this one is definitely going to stretch her as an actress. It’s also going to stretch her wallet by being the Executive Producer. I’ve reading that people are interested in this movie and I certainly am. Congrats Beyonce – keep doing your thang….. and drop another album!!!!
