♫ Dru Hill – Get Loose (full) – listen
Remember that stage fight that Dru Hill had on the radio that was all over YouTube? Well, apparently, that was supposed to be publicity to jog some media attention around the group releasing a new album. “Get Loose” is apparently Dru Hill’s comeback single for their new project, which hasn’t really had too much information circulated about it. I guess Sisqo’s solo career didn’t work out as planned, so he’s reclaiming the reigns as lead vocalist. I just wonder what the boys are going to be talking about this time around, because “Get Loose” sounds a little dated.
♫ Ne-Yo – Nobody (full) – listen
More new music from Ne-Yo’s new project, Year of the Gentlemen, which was supposed to drop June 24th, but has been pushed back. It’s crazy because most of the albums that were slated to drop that day are being pushed back, while albums that had an earlier release date were moved to drop on that day. “Nobody” sounds like something that was on Ne-Yo’s last album, very Michael Jackson-esque and danceable. I was hoping, actually, for more cuts like “Closer.” But we’ll see as more material leaks.
♫ Robin Thicke – Magic (full) – listen
So, after the leaking of Robin Thicke’s single, “Magic,” from his third studio album, finally, a CD quality version leaks. I still love the track just as I did before, but I’m glad to finally have a full version of the song. “Magic” is slated to be Thicke’s first single from his upcoming project, Something Else. I can’t wait to see what else he has up his sleeve, considering that The Evolution was one of my favorite albums to drop that year.
♫ Macy Gray feat. The Game – Only In the Dark (full) – listen
Here’s new material from Macy Gray. I’m excited to see that Macy is coming out with a new album, because I really did dig her last project, Big. I’m not sure how I feel about The Game feature, but I’m not mad. “Only In the Dark” is a cool sounding song, but I’m a little underwhelmed by the lyrics. I usually expect a little more from Macy, but this is pretty interesting that this song is coming from her. I remember Teedra Moses mentioning working with her, so hopefully we’ll be able to see the fruits of that labor.
Ne-Yo cut is cool
Robin can’t go wrong….
Im feeling the macy gray..everythign else is a bunch of garbage..Nuff luv from london..Seany Sean
Robin Track is Kool
Even after the Dru Hill publicity stunt I still DON’T wanna buy the album…the song is okay. Sounds like some leftover stuff back in the 90′s
Ain’t really feelin’ the Ne-Yo joint…only joint I liked is ‘Closer’ so far
Still gotta check out the Robin Thicke song. Radio stations played the hell out of ‘Lost Without You’ and I was about to lose my damn mind if I heard it again.
Macy Gray-I’ll pass and go for $200
Macy Gray…I’m trying really hard to wrap my mind around that but I just don’t get it. All those noises combined with her voice almost lead me to an epileptic seizure…
OMG I luv Robin Thicke. The song is hott baby:)
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Neyo I am not feeling it I may not buy his cd *gasp*
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> He is normally one of my faves but not this time >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>around
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Magic I like it
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Dru Hill so yesterday
I like the retro sound from Dru Hill, never was a big fan but I’m tired of all the pop-n-b these days. Fans who appreciate 90′s R&B will dig this track from them.
Is Neyo trying to morph into Michael Jackson? I mean it sounds like he just ripped some of his early sound this time around.
Robin Thicke- I guess this song is ok, he needs to come out with something a bit more edgy.
Macy Gray– SMH, less than average tune from Macy.
Did Macy really say, “FUCK” ???
Havent heard everything else but maybe im just an extra dedicated fan, but I like the dru hill song…I got love for em and I cant wait to hear more!!!!
i love the robin thicke tune, i first heard it on the european advert of samsung soul…loved it since then. the rest meeeeehhh
Luv Robin.x
OK, I like the music from Robin Thicke’s song… very 70s… But Im SERIOUSLY having a hard time wrapping my head around why everyone is on his &$%#@ like that. He’s so boring vocally… Youre telling me he sounds better than any of these other R&B dudes out there? I feel the same about Justin, and this aint a prejudiced thing. I just dont get the concept of a white person singing w/ a small bit of soul and everyone bowing to them like theyre royalty. If Magic was a song put out by a black artist, folx would be like ‘eh, its ok, his voice aint that strong’…
Lost W/O You was cute the first few times… but became lame quickly. He’s stuck in a time warp trying to channel Marvin Gaye. What else ya got, Robin? His first CD Cherry Blue Skies was so much more interesting/edgier than Evolution.
And no, this aint Hateration in the Dancerie (sorry Mary)… Im just lost.
All the songs are pretty phat. Good stuff.
I’m feeling the Dru Hill. It takes me back to some of the really good RandB music from the 90s that are soo sadly missed today! The Rude Boys, Jodeci, DruHill Total, SWV, Intro,Xcape,Zhane..Those were the days!!
I love EVERYTHING Neyo does.
He can do no wrong in my eyes.
i really like magic, more than any thing else i’ve heard from him but i’ve never gave any of his cds a good conscious listening. but this song isn’t leaked is it? i hear it like every other day in my office at work, i swore it was on the radio too.
the ne-yo song is nice, vury mj/quincy jones/rod temperton inspired once again but hey, it works for him, lol
Dru Hill needs to stop playing….Jesus be the reality check for these fools.
Ne-Yo’s song is cute but I don’t expect it to be in my heavy rotation
I LOOOOOOOVE Robin Thicke & I hate the fact that just because people like his music then we all must be as #15 said “on his &$%#@” I’d rather listen to him then Tre Songs any day, but that is just my opinion. I think people who like Justin and Robin appreciate good music and good vocals and that is it. Color doesn’t have anything to do with it.
Macy Gray —why even bother
lol@#4 i still can listen to LOST WITHOUT YOU,thats a beautiful song.
i love anything ne-yo.that is one talented dude.
that dru hill song does sound 90ish
i dont listen to macy gray
I’m glad that Dru Hill has decided to come back and make another album……I really love them and they still have some Dedicated fans out here including me!!!!!!!
Cant wait til Ne-Yo album drops!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I LOVE HIM
Definitely feelin the Dru Hill song
‘Nobody’ is ok
I like ‘Magic’
Not feelin Macy & The Game at all….
i agree w/#21, and i’m not even a robin thicke fan (even live TWICE i wasn’t sold) BUT i’d rather hear him than trey songs, j. holiday, those type of singers are whack to me, lol…generic lyrics & beats, short skinny girly dudes…they don’t “bring it” imo. i’m all black pride and stuff so don’t get me wrong but this is a rough patch for main stream R&B imo. love that ne-yo song the more i listen to it btw.
With all the songs out now that are all saying the same thing And some not really not saying much. What is wrong with Dru Hill coming back and saying something with substance? Even its 90s sound, what are we suppose to be saying in 2008? Is it the words or production. what? I just need to understand .I guess I am ol school at heart & believe when can still bring it to the present. I like Neyo. Just love Robin Thicke. (Im in love)
okay, i’ve listened to the ne-yo song like 6 times now and he uses 2 distinct MJ interpolations/oral ablibed sound effects…using the mans style is one thing but dang ne-yo, lol
#10.
I agree with being tired of the pop&b. I’m a person that’s more appreciative of the 90s R&B realm so I actually like the Druhill track and have always loved the ballads they put out.
I usually like Neyo’s stuff, but I do feel like he’s losing his identity and beginning to be too much like his inspiration Michael. Even with inspirations you must find and show who you are as an artist too, but I will still support the album because I usually love Neyo’s whole album.
I like the Robin Thicke track. I hope he stays consistent with bringing out tracks because his last album was pretty good but he only brought out like 2 tracks.
Love Robin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I heard Robin Thicke’s new single Magic awhil back it’s a BANGIN’ A$$ song. He’s killing R&B right now. Has anyone heard him on Ashanti’s (hope to be next single) “The Things You Do”? Oh, it’s baby making, get ur freak on music.
I’m with alot of people as far as the Dru hill joint, i loved 90′s R&B….and miss this kind of music/sound
Neyo biting Mike a little too hard on this one…love Closer though.
Ok ok…I hear you Robin; I was jammin to this. Love the production with the instruments.
Macy Gray…Suprisingly good…luv Game on the track.
The Ne-Yo track is different for all that is out right now, but it is all MJ. In a few years you won’t be able to tell the difference between them. However he did a great job singing on All My Children during Angie and Jessie’s wedding last week.
I am a total Dru Hill fan – come on, yall know you still get hype when you hear Beauty “…All you can think about was her, this one thing and Beauty is her name!” And even Sisqo’s solo career wasn’t that bad especially the first album. The Thong Song was the ish for about a week, but those ballads were really hittin if you took time to listen. That raspy, B-more accent thing was great. And don’t forget classics like “We’re Not Making Love No More” and “Sleeping in My Bed.” I actually think a comeback from them would be really nice and the little snippet was reminiscent of the 90s the same as Ne-Yo’s was reminiscent of the 80s.
Macy Gray’s song was well written, but I am just not a huge fan of her sound. The lyrics were kinda cool though.
Robin Thicke has great production, but he really does always sound the same to me. Nice falsetto, but I guess I’m still waiting on that Maxwell to drop – any word on that Bri?
feelin dru hill..still loves me some 90′s music…Im so proud of Woody for finding God.. Go head with your bad self, I love it…You heard ur calling…thats a beautiful thing
Ne-yo, not feelin that song
Love Robin Thicke..
Macy Gray- didnt finish listening to the song..heard the game and that did it for me…
Macy Hair Is The Biz, Its Sooo Flame.
maaaaan, what is going on with the music game today. everybody but robin thicke sounds uncomfortably ‘not themselves’…. can we make new music please?
not feelin anything from NE YOs new album cuts, its all been done already and just sounds refurbished, next!!
I really like the Dru Hill joint. Reminds me of something off of ‘Enter the Dru’. Nokio was and still is fine as hell! I still remember when he poured that hot wax on his body in the ‘In My Bed’ video, lol. Whoo!
Oh, yeah! They can have Scola. He never fit. And I still think Jazz should’ve came out with a solo album.
I am a HUGE fan of the music from the 90s. My two favorite groups (SWV and Blackstreet) came out of the 90s…however…I’m not feeling the Dru Hill song. You can keep the same lyrics and have a throw-back kind of sound without it sounding like it’s using production straight from a 90s sampler. That’s all I’m saying.
Robin Thicke-His music is okay, but his voice is just so boring. I just can’t get into him because he hits the falsetto every third word. ‘Ask Myself’ is the ONLY song of his I have ever listened to all the way through.
Ne-Yo-This sounds like 97.3% of all his other songs. It’s just boring. If I hear one more Michael Jackson-ish beat with lyrics about some chick from Ne-Yo, I’m going to lose it. He’s really starting to become a one-trick pony.
And yes, R&B is starting to lose it’s steam and everyone is going to Urban Pop. That’s what’s selling these days. I don’t really have a problem with it. Just make me some good music to listen to. Like the 70s and 80s, the 90s sound will come back but just not yet. It still has got to be perfected so that it takes us back without sounding so dated.
(running into post screaming) ROBIN!!!!!!! love it.
sisqo sounds like kci from jodeci
Loving what Ne-Yo is doing with this new album so far. Ive always been a fan of his and this will probably be my favorite album of his. As for Robin Thicke, I love him, always have, always will. Dru Hill … Im on the fence, its definitely dated but then again, I like the old stuff so I’m down for it.
Macy Gray + Game = Banger!
I had to listen to the Dru Hill song again….Are yall sure this ain’t Jodeci because it sure sounds like a left-over song from Diary of a Mad Band….Like seriously it sounds like K-Ci singing and Devante talking over the music and then I swear towards the end I hear Jo Jo…..LOLOLOLOL
Dru – Sounds like classic Dru Hill. Not really a fan of all of the crap they call R&B these days. I used to love them because they were a group of guys that could actually sing.
Ne-Yo – Sounds too much like a M.J. song. I just can’t quite put my finger on it.
Robin – Love, Love, Love it!!
Macy – Like her voice but didn’t really care for the song. Definately could have done without The Game.
Please comeback Jon B and Maxwell
I don’t like Ne-Yo’s voice or his songs so I will pass.
I loved Dru Hill back in the day but I can’t get with that song.
Macy Gray’s song is pretty catchy. It’s different for her and I can tolerate it.
I love Robin Thicke so as long he doesn’t try to compete with the youngins and remain true to his age, I will continue to rock him.
I never liked Jon B, therefore, he can stay gone.
I love Maxwell but he ain’t worth an 8 year wait. Still will rock his music if it is ever released just don’t care if it is ever released.
I like the Dru hill song…
That’s the sound that made them great back in the day.
NEYO IS KILLIN IT, he bettr drop tht album, NOW!!! ROBIN THICKE is pure MAGIC – PERIOD, go head DRU HILL & MACY, I LIKE ALL these songs….
Dru Hill-SOS, I never liked them b/c they try to hard to emulate one of my favorite groups from the 90′s-Jodeci.
Ne-Yo-I’d listen to it…very Michael Jackson
Robin Thicke-Nice
Macy Gray-Nice, but the Game’s verse is too long. Could use less of him.
LMAOOOOOOOOOO AINT NOBODY CHECKIN FOR MUSTY AZZ DRU HILL NO MORE. SISQO NEED 2 FIND DAT WELFARE CHECK IN THE GARBAGE 2 BUY HIM A NEW BOTTLE O GOLD HAIR BLEACH.
Dru Hill- WACK!!!!!!
Ne-Yo- Its str8….i hope its not his next single cuz that would be a downgrade from Closer
Robin Thicke- That is that DUDE!!!!! Luv It
Macy Gray- I can’t really get into her….EVER!!!
yall trippin’……..the cut by Game and Macy sounds good.
Dru Hill is my favorite group…and I missed them so much…soo im happy to see them back.
i am a huge dru hill fan and that is nice so what it sounds like something from the 90′s thats when the best music was out and to all the haters fuck off lol
For those who keep acting as if Ne-Yo is JUST NOW sounding like Michael Jackson, WHERE Y’ALL BEEN?
That dude has been a Michael Jackson impersonator since “Stay With Me” and especially, “Sexy Love.”
Sorry to say it, but, swagger-wise, that dude doesn’t have one original bone in his body.
DOES SISQO STILL USE DAT LAMEASS DRAGON SYMBOL LMAAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!?
Folks really need to start paying MJ for his likeness fo’real. Like I tell ppl it’s one thing to be inspired by someone but when just outright taking mimicking the person, I mean how are you going to do the man’s “Trade Mark” dance moves and you’re copying their singing style. That’s just a utter disgrace, your not being an artist your an impersonator at that point.
Macy I can’t really get into her, it truly depends on song and my mood. I liked her song in Idlewild though lol
Robin, gotta go back and listen to that one.
Dru Hill–is alright, they still sound the same but I don’t know if I’m feeling it this time around.
Neyo–is what I expect. A very solid song and effort. Can’t go wrong.
Robin–Mr. Teena Marie, seriously, blue-eyed soul at its finest! JT ain’t got nothin on Robin.
Macy Gray–always been a fan. She comes with something funky and fresh all the time!
I guess, I’m beginnning to feel like a lot of the other posters on this site. Many peeps CLAIM to want something different, not the same ol BS when it comes to music. Nevertheless, when different music is posted, (i.e. Macy Gray) most write that they won’t even listen to it. I’ve seen Miss Macy in concert and she is an incredible artist. I’ve paid for friends to go with me who felt like a lot of the commentators on this site – very biased. After attending her show, their tune changed. Grow up, expand your horizons, broaden your musical tastes – reach beyond the crap that is being fed to you on radio and sometimes pushed on this site. There is good music out there and some very talented artists. Give them a chance.
And as for the comments about thicke – yeah I don’t get it either. A brother with his level of talent would not even get radio airplay. Just my two cents.
I see Mr.Cheeks coming on to this track on a remix and just killin’ it!
by “that track” i mean magic (robin thicke)
