Wow. I was really surprised when I heard this new track from Musiq Soulchild, which just made it’s way to radio this week. It definitely wasn’t what I expected, but I guess 2008 is the year for folks to be switching it up. Even John Legend changed it up a bit, but even his new single with Andre isn’t a huge departure from his previous material – it doesn’t seem far-fetched like this does. This song is unlike anything Musiq has ever recorded before, and I’m really wondering how his loyal fan base is going to react to the new single, “Radio.” More information about his upcoming project as it is released.

Check out the official remix of Mariah’s third single from her 11th studio album, E=MC², “I’ll Be Lovin’ U Long Time,” featuring T.I. Mariah has been hammering out remixes like none other. The track was produced by DJ Toomp, who is responsible for countless tracks for both Jeezy and T.I.P. The video for the song was recently shot in Hawaii, and supposedly features that rapper.

Here’s some new music from Gorilla Zoe, from his forthcoming LP, Don’t Feed the Animals, which is due out September. I actually like the new single that Zoe has with Sean Kingston, but this doesn’t compare to the new single. In any event, I’m hoping that this is just from the sessions and isn’t going to be appearing on the new album.

So excited to see new music leaking from my boys, The Clipse! I have actually been a fan of them since their first album, Lord Willin’ dropped, and even though it took ages for Hell Hath No Fury to come out, I was still right there, ready to buy. Even though the twins have leaked this new song, I’m very surprised that this song isn’t produced by The Neptunes. For their albums, they’ve never worked with anyone else. Maybe this is just something to create a buzz.
um Musiq, you should be ashamed. I would have never ever thought YOU would have made something like this. This is from the same man who wrote LOVE….what the HEEZY
Mariah is FINALLY singing her ass off on this song, This song is the single she should have released not that Bye Bye (a depressing single that we don’t need right now, it’s summer time, time for fun, sun and chillin). This is the perfect single….but the T.I verse sounds uninspired and boring, he DID NOT sell his verse like he did on Justin’s.

Not sure what to say about Musiq’s joint…I couldn’t help but move my hips and the song is infectious but….NOT MUSIQ!!!! If this song was by anybody else I would love it. But I have loved Musiq from DAY 1…he was a breath of fresh air to the industry. He was real….raw….unique. I really don’t know what to say…
Ok I’m all for artists switching things up and bringing a new sound to the fans. Musiq’s song is a nice club banger but I really hope that this is not the direction that he plans on pursuing for the rest of his album. Musiq has way to much vocal talent just like another person said in a previous post, This song is beneath the level that Musiq is capable of singing on. It’s a hot song with a hot beat, but for an artist of Musiq’s caliber, it’s not what he should be moving towards.

How are people saying they like the musiq song, but not musiq singing it? Different, yes. But a good song is a good is a good damn song. We hear all these complaints about these new artists doing the same ol thing, then we slam our favorite artists for looking to expand themselves musically. Which is just an obvious confirmation that the artist is looking expand him or herself personally, as well. If they play this song is the club its gonna rock. Its gonna play on the radio because it was intended to be commercial. Whats wrong with gettin radio play, again…despite the artist?? Musiq has bosses like any other employee, and Im sure the brotha is tryin to eat, too. Case in point, it shouldnt matter what artist is attached to a song if the song is good. People on here really are making it sound as if Musiq has lost his mind. Applaud our artists and musicians for trying out new ideas. They do it in Rock all the time, but I guess R&B fans have become subliminally one dimensional in their musical taste.

I’m not surprised Musiq sold out…”Buddy” was just as mainstream…those lyrics were low browed and perfect for pop radio… I knew it. Too bad, too because his voice is great but it’s not better than Usher’s, Trey Songz, Mario’s or even R Kelly’s. The point is, he’s gotten out of his lane and now he’s going to have to do more than beat Angie Stone to the radio. This is probably the end for him. I bet India is somewhere shaking her head in disbelief.
Not feeling this Musiq track, I hope this is not the way he intends to go with his new project. I’m a fan, but really not feeling this one. Please go back to Aijuswannasing.

I love Musiq. Always have, always will. And I love nothing more than an artist expanding their horizons and trying something different. But be who you are. Not saying that he has to stick to doing love songs and what not. I mean we got “Movin On”, Now or Later”, “Make U Happy” and “Slow Down”…these were different but still remained true to who he is. Maybe he has always had “Radio” in him. Who knows but in the day in age in music, putting something out like this could be the death of a career. We love Musiq because he gives real music. He’s not like every other artist. Now’s not the time to conform. Still love him and can’t wait for the album.

OOHHH NOOOOOO! I too have bought every Musiq album and am in love with his voice and music…but this “Radio” song has pissed me off. I love Musiq for his unique style and neo-soul swag and it seems that he done messed around and tried to go mainstream. I was SO upset (like I actually got angry) when I was listening to that. Its so unoriginal Lawd tell me that is not the direction his new album is taking cuz I will NOT be buying one!

The only song I can say I loved was Musiq’s….. the others were just alright….. if the Clipse wanted to really go commercial which I’ve heard they said they didn’t want to…..they could’ve done better IMO.
the way that everyones speaking about musiq’s new material is kind of comical.. because if you listen to the lyrics, like dont front you know you like it put it on the radio… even though half of these music artists’ music is garbage, it still goes on the radio because oh the beat’s hot or the hook’s catchy… and i bet you this will be in the club or on the radio stations 24/7.. whether it had musiq’s name attached or not, this is the kind of music that consumers are buying/listening to… but i can’t say we all love it because i am not with it
well if Musiq wants to swtich it up its w/e ..but i dont like the idea ! why cant ppl set them selves apart from the norm ?? i dont always wanna listen to whats on 106 n park …sometimes i just wanna relax and listen to some old musiq, old common, jill scott, lauryn hill , and just be on that smooth melodic tip ..geesh ..Musiq should stay in his comfort zone

i feel you on that. I have been a Musiq fan since Just Friends came out. I have all his albums(none bootlegged LOL)…and I gotta agree that the first one and last one are the best.

Awww damn it!!! I’m not feeling the remix to I’ll Be Lovin U Long Time AT ALL!!! The original is so much better coz it’s just her singing her lungs out and its short! This remix just doesn’t sound polished!! I’m so sad coz this song is hot and deserves an even hotter remix. But maybe it will grow on me… not saying it will surpass the original though. Everybody I know who’ve heard the song said it’s a great song. A rap verse sooooooooooo wasn’t needed.
Side note: Would releasing Side Effects be a good thang?…..
