The full version of Michelle Williams’s “Hello Heartbreak” has leaked. I think I dug the snippet a little more, but this doesn’t distract my interest from Michelle’s new project, Unexpected. This is the first song from the album that I’ve heard that really just hasn’t kept my attention. And even still, I think it may have something to do with the quality of the song. Is it just me, or does the vocal seem really low?

Although extremely underrated, I really liked a lot of the songs on Joe’s last album, Ain’t Nothin’ Like Me, and to be completely honest, I’m really digging this new song too. “E.R.” feels similar to a lot of the material on the last album, so I’m wondering if this means that Joe is coming out with a new album or if this is just unreleased material from the sessions of the last album.

This is Ashanti’s second single from her latest album, The Declaration. It was originally supposed to be the Akon and Nelly-featured “Body On Me,” but I think Ashanti realized that the song wasn’t all that great, and she decided to trade high instead of not trading at all, especially with it being really hard for some artists to find relevance these days. “Good Good” is produced by Jermaine Dupri.

Check out this new remix of Jazmine Sullivan’s first single, “Need U Bad,” which has been getting a lot of spins here in Atlanta. I’m really glad that Jazmine’s album is finally going to come out, because I’ve been checking on this young songstress for sometime. Although I don’t like how the vocals were a little sped up on the song, I think her fans will like this remix. I prefer the original, though.

Lovin the Michelle song! I also heard the remix to it and I actually like that better. The Joe song is ok, I liked his last album. I didn’t bother listening to that waste of skin Ashanti. She just doesn’t do it for me. And my homie Jazmine reppin Philly all crazy! I like the remix but prefer the original!

Jo sounded ok but his first single needs to be a hit. Jazmin single sounded nice at first, but there was way to many beats and sound effects that distracted the vocals.

I agree with #29. I am a Joe FAN but I don’t think noone in the R&B genre can save it. When you start buying CD’s from the 80′s and 90′s…..I mean c’mon! It’s not just on life support……it has now FLATLINED!

Ummm, I’m actually feelin’ “Hello Heartbreak”. The vocals are barely there, you so right, they sound really low. I like the song though, especially the harmonies on it. Michelle sounds cool. The only thing is, I don’t really like the snare on that track. But, that’s just me. I think that “Good, Good” was a great single choice for Ashanti. She sounds comfortable and just rides the track and her performance of it on Jimmy Kimmel I think was cool.

Ashanti’s cut is a definite club banger. Do I see it going #1? No. First off, it’s not even original. It samples an old Elton John song (the piano bit) and on top of lyrics share the same melody as MJ’s The Girl is Mine (listen to the bridge verses). Overall, it’s good, good but not great, great. Now Jazmine on side note is THE TRUTH! I’m feeling what she’s bringing to the table ’cause it ain’t the same ol’ processed cheese (aka singing ’bout how good their punanni keeps their men in check). I do, however, think the original is better than the remix. Can’t wait to hear more of her soulful stuff!

I actually like Ashanti’s song. It’s cute, and very summer oriented. Everything doesn’t have to be serious all the time. For the record, Ashanti has more serious and inspirational (Mother and Shine) songs on her album. Good Good is just one song. For those complaining and trying to find everything wrong about it. It’s sampled, it sounds like. If you’re going to complain about it. Talk to Jermaine Dupri. Because he’s the one that prodcued the song. Maybe he shouldn’t be such a cliche rip off producer. He prodcued Mariah’s last two albums. You know what, her E=MC project, sounds like a worse repeat of her Emancipation CD. Thanks to Jermaine Dupri that is. On top of that Mariah’s voice is shot. It’s gone. She deosn’t sound great anymore. She sounds just as bad, as the artist you guys critisize for being so-called non-singers.
I like and listen to artist like Jazimine Sulliven. But because I’m a DIVERSE MSUIC LISTENER/FAN, I can listen to a Mya, Christina Milian, Ashanti, and Amerie all the same. You can have the greatest voice in the world. Just because you’re a serious artist, doesn’t mean you can’t be a wack artist, with bad material, borning and unintersting. It certainly doesn’t make them real either (see Alicia and the Swizz Beats situation). They can be just as cliche and generic as the rest of them. Just because some of these artist put on a long flowing skirt or cover up, doesn’t mean, they’re not a scheming d-sucking hoe. Like some of you disrespect a lot of these other female artist about.
