Tyra Banks attended the 35th annual Daytime Emmy Awards in Hollywood on Friday. The former supermodel-turned-talk show host won an Emmy for outstanding informative talk show for the infamous bathing suit photo incident that hit the net earlier last year.
“I’m shaking,” Banks, the talk show’s host and executive producer, said as she took the stage to collect her prize.
“I have such a strong history with daytime television. My mama… Where’s my mama? My mama’s crying like a baby! Hi Mama,” the model-turned-TV personality said.
Banks also cited Oprah Winfrey as inspiration:
“I want to thank Oprah Winfrey for her inspiration,” Tyra said. “She is the queen. She will always be the queen.”
Tyra and her show is annoying at times, but I give props when props are due. Congrats to her!

Tyra know, wtf?? that dress/hair combo is not the answer. I have tuned out from both top model and her talk show, but i’m happy for you nonetheless. The shows both got irritating to me but i hope you still keep doing great things.

I can dig the hair color. I mean in my opinion it blends nicely with her skin tone. But yellow dress, yellow hair, yellow lady is a bit overboard I must say. It’s like: Is that Big Bird or is that Tyra? She always wears the absolute best lace fronts in the business though. As much money as Naomi Campbell has, I don’t know why she can’t take a que and start wearing lace fronts and stop damaging her own hair and receding hairline to almost nonexistent with those weaves.
As for Tyra’s show…it just goes to show that the Daytime Emmy’s had absolutely nothing to choose from…Tyra winning an Emmy…that is the dumbest and most embarrasing show ever. Tyra asks more eloquent thought provoking questions on ANTM than she does when she is interviewing her guests on her talk show. She really acts semi retarded on her talk show. And again, look how dumb her acceptance speech was. Tyra is beautiful, but if you really concentrate on her hard enough, she starts to look a little deformed like…ok let me stop and get ready for work…cuz Tyra gonna be alright with or without my approval.

Yeah that’s where i’m at….half the time that show is some bull like it looks like it’s supposed to help but seems like it’s not really on issues like race, skin color, exposes (going undercover as a fat chick or man, etc) and that half makes me go how the hell she get a Emmy for this but other times dare I say damnit it be pretty good so yeah congrats and props where they are due indeed. Tyra is usually ham, but with that blonde lace front she’s roast ham! I’ve seen the Tyra show and it seem that most of the time she’s acting like a teenage girl in heat, a bit like Mariah, but at least Mariah has talent. I dunno, she always reminds me of Kelly Rowland, i never knew what was up with kelly until read about how she hated being dark and wished she was lighter and then it all made sense. I used to love Tyra. But after watching ANTM and her talk show I see how she exploits young women and their issues. I also think is narcissistic, patronizing and condescending. Watch the shows yourself for examples. Anyway, I congratulate her on her Emmy, even though I think she’s phony and didn’t really truly earn it.
