NOT FEELIN that BLONDE Ty-baby…try again!

Her show is very inspirational to young teens more so teen girls…i like what her show stands for to embrace young teens so they can flaunt their flaws and have more self esteem…. people thought this show wasnt gonna make it but it did..and now really she could say “i told ya so”…

but regards to her outfit and her hair..for her to have a show America next top model and she criticizes people for what the wear sometimes and maybe their hair right now she shouldnt be talking at all…she doesnt look like she was a top model before…

You know, it’s not always about money. It’s about standards too. But you can’t convince the Wikepeida generation we live in. These days, words just don’t mean what they used to–research is now a google search, success now means money, stating the obvious or even stating your convictions is now “hating”.

For me, an informative show entails more than talking about cellulite on your booty or oogling over embellished vaseline jars. Tyra’s success is largely attributed to an audience too caught up in her beauty and false sense of acceptance by her to see the real picture. To me, an informative show leaves me with a feeling similar to walking out of a powerful lecture or reading an awesome article or having an amazing discussion.

I don’t give Tyra any props. She has manged to profit off of the ignorant by keeping them ignorant, confused, and distracted. I am motivated by her though…if she can be successful then WE ALL CAN.

Tyra’s hair is horrible! I don’t know what she was thinking. I don’t like the dress either. Tyra has committed a fashion crime.. she usually looks nice. I am also tired of her lace front wigs. I don’t understand why she can’t get a decent weave.
I am a bit shocked that she got an Emmy. I’ve watched the show more than a dozen times and found myself quickly changing the channel (its a bit boring), but sitll I guess congrats are in order…

I see your point sk8board but what teen did not face self esteem problems? I know I did–geez, I was too skinny, too dark, too nappy, too dumb, too loud, too soft..whatever, but I overcame much of that when I went to college, got an amazing education, and got an amazing set of skills that allowed me to accept what I could not change and change what I could not accept.

why is tyra’s skin, her dress, her hair, and the award the same freakin color? she over did the bronze look and throw that lace front mess away, she annoys me but heh i give credit where it’s due keep up the good work..

To all of you: please feel free to your opinion. I gave a couple examples out of a zillion others. That is my perception of Tyra. She is not empowering IMO. I believe she breaks people down. We don’t see what happens to most of these girls when they go home. If you need stronger examples you have a television, I assume please watch at home. I am not a huge fan of Tyra’s but I do commend her success. I can’t knock her for trying to build ratings, but she should not do that at the expense of these peoples feelings and pride. That’s my opinion. I’m not knocking you for formulating your own. Peace black people.

I don’t get why everyone is hating! Oprah may have had a show for a loooong time but that doesn’t make her any better than Tyra. I enjoy watchig Tyra. Its better than Maury with the same topic everyday. His show exploits black people. Jerry Springer is hot mess and whoever watches that should be ashamed. Tyra goes out on a limb and picks very interesting topics that cater to all audiences. Oprah’s show is ending in 2011 anywayz. Most of her shows really cater to a white audience. And they both aren’t perfect. Tyra can seem fake just like Oprah can. That we all know. Oprah can make things about herself and cut people off. Same way with Tyra.

I don’t get why we want to bring one person down just to bring another one up. If thats what it takes then its not worth it. Black People need to stop hating. In all these black blogs people hate constantly then want to complain when others point out the negativity in us. I’m dissapointed to see this especially from a BET nominated blog.

That wig is TACKY. The wig and the dress reminds me of an outfit Mary J. Blige wore to a recent awards show. I can’t remember which one, but it was the same color dress, her hair was in a light blonde updo, but she had a fur wrap. Basically it’s the same look.

In any event, it’s not flattering on Tyra. It kills me how she makes fun of girls on ANTM looking like drag queens. Based on her appearance at the Day Time Emmy’s she is now the UNDISPUTED Queen of DRAG.

THE SHOW CAN BE TOO MUCH WATCH AT TIMES BECAUSE OF TYRA’S EXTREME ACTS BUT OVERALL IT’S A NICE SHOW…CONGRATS TO TYRA!!!

Yall took the words outta my mouth! Happy to see other intelligent and articulate balck folks that see through Tyra. And no people haven’t forgotten Oprah’s early days and how it wasn’t that good but it took a thing called Honesty and Criticism to get her to improve her show and evolve into the greatness that it and she is today. Like Wow said it’s called an opinion not hate! And without this Oprah would still be Sally Jessie Raphael territory. The great ones take criticsm (or hate as others might say) and use it to grow and get better. And none of us “haters” are saying Tyra can’t get better. Anyways, congrats to Tyra and may she continue to get bigger and better.

Tyra is a fake. After telling the tabloids to ‘kiss her ass’ the next thing she did was to lose weight! Hmm, what kind of message is that?!?!?!?

FOR WHAT, OMG, I do not care to watch her daytime show it has no substance and I am sorry Tyra is not great an interviewing people. She barely listens to the answers, because most of her questions are written. There is no follow up. And she talks about B.S. I cannot take her serious.

Tyra Banks is an amazing woman, she is to be commended for her success people! Why do African -americans always tear at each other. I have to agree with the many others on this post, Tyra’ s Hair and Dress are AWFUL!!! What was she thinking??? I’m glad that Tyra won the award, I think she deserves it to, no she isn’t perfect and she can come off confrontational to her guest and a bit messy( example her interview with Karrine Stepahns and Naomi Campbell, Tyra had Naomi on the show then a couple of weeks later had that lady that she supposedly threw a phone at!!! Top Model has gotten boring to me and I watch the Tyra Show sometime,but not all the time.
