VIDEO: CHRISETTE MICHELE - LOVE IS YOU
Thursday, June 12, 2008
Above is Chrisette Michele’s latest single from her debut album, I Am. The single, titled “Love Is You”, was produced by John Legend. The video was directed by Mildred Delamota. Loving that hairstyle on her.
In related news, Chrisette worked with TBS & Tyler Perry’s ‘House of Payne’ for a new campaign. Peep the behind the scenes video, featuring Chrisette & the ‘House of Payne’ cast, after the cut.

Love the song, Love Chrisette, but I hate her new image. It just doesn’t suit her and her voice. Her image is adolescent, her voice is mature. I think her previous image with the long dark hair and classy clothing was better. Still love Chrisette, she is a major talent.

Yeah, this sounds like something John produced and would sing. This is one of the few songs on the great album that I don’t like. Something about it makes me want to go to sleep. However, her hair looks great.

I love this song and video. Her whole album is great to me. She’s so underrated as an artist because she sings mainly ballads which contain no booty shaking. Anyways I’m glad there are people out there that appreciate her music and if you don’t like her type of music please don’t come posting things about her being wack cause she’s far from it. I love her hair. That long hair made her look uncomfortable like she was trying to fit the the typical long hair image.

Its crazy how everybody “Loves” her music but nobody wants to go out and purchase her music. People get brainwashed by the crappy and so-so artist, Then the talented artist dont sell and eventually disappear because their not putting $ in labels pockets. This is real music, Stop letting the radio & B.E.T. brainwash you. Its a FACT that if you hear something over and over again eventually you will dig it. Her album is good. Great song!!!

#6(Ladyssolady)
John Legend wrote and produced this song for her.
Anyways,I like her new image because the new image might appeal to the younger audience and her voice will fit the mature older audience. She has to find a way to bridge both audiences to sell and be noticed.
Oh yeah why do people always say “real music”? There is no such thing is real music. If you hear a tune it’s real. Now it gets subjective and personal when you decide whether you like the song or how you can relate to the song or artist. The whole “real music” rant is retarded. Stop complaining about people liking music you considered to be whack and pay attention to the music you love. I swear people always focus more on what they hate than what they love. It’s like an obsession lol. Just enjoy the music you love folks. I started doing that and I’m fine. Anyways, Chrisette is beautiful talented young lady love her!

I guess Im a stan 4 artists that turn it out during a live performance…I saw Ledisi last week in concert and she is a definate MUST SEE …no studio help needed for her voice!

her voice is beautiful. she’s beautiful. the short cut looks better than when she first go it but she’d look better w/more hair imo. i thought i was against her image to have the weave in the first place but it framed her big pretty face and head nicely. the white guy should do good for that MTV demographic or does she really eff w/white guys? maybe but i doubt it. nice video, she’s so classy and talented
i seen her live and she sounded great oo!

I love Chrisette Michelle, bought her album and saw her in concert a few times. However, this video makes little sense. The interracial relationship seemed forced, their isn’t a theme here, and the video looks extremely cheap. I guess people will continue sleeping on her at this rate. Her album is amazing.

The video, was mediocre. The white guy was very not so hot.

I love this album its my number 2 so far this year with estelle at number one
In my opinion I kinda agree with the real music statement There are alot of what I like to call manufactured artist out there that labels create they can pick a person off the street who can notts sing and make them a star really throw in the make up hair wardrobe and they have machines in the studio to clean up their voices to go on a record I watched a docu about this and it was just amazing how easily this can be done you be surprised lol lol

i guess if it works for you fine…for me, the video feels forced…her being with that white boy….feels like an obvious ploy to cross over…call me ur bitter black aunt….but with such a beautiful song….and beautiful message….a woman saying that her man is pure, unadulterated love…it would have been nice to see it be a brother…its just that on BET and other outlets we never see enough Black love…black men and women exalting each other….revering…nah….the man is usually the mandingo…the woman, the sexual object or conquest…so here we are in need of some refreshment from all that and she’s on what seems like a black college campus with….um…a white boy? He was just thrown in there….her record company was like’ hit the crossover’….such a sweet, quiet song….i kinda wanted to see Black love represented that way….not on some grind and fk me ish….like we usually do
sigh

I’m sorry but I have to say this: Next time I see a fine brother on this site, I’m going to say, “Mmm. Cute black guy.” or “That’s a nice looking black guy.” or why not stop at that, I’ll say, “That black dude is fine.” Do you see how ignorant that sounds? You all sound like you never thought a white man could be attractive. And, even if you don’t think so it’s okay, it’s your opinion. Some people will hate you for your opinions, but by golly that’s their problem. Not yours! Stop acting like you are trying to be sly about paying a white man a compliment. It’s not such a bad thing. My gosh you are on a blog. So instead of referring to him as a white guy, why not refer to him in a respectful manner….in this case (in a few your opinions) a very nice looking man.

@66…talk about being DEEP! OMG it’s not that serious, he was obviously the only white person in the video so I don’t think making the distinction of him being white such a big deal.
Speaking of white and cute, could they have at least got someone attractive??

@ 66 . Everyone is entitled to their own opinion , you said it yoursef. I think you are exaggerating and blowing things up ,for no reason . Some women may not find “white” men attractive but thought he was cute , it’s that simple . I prefer dark men ,but If I see a light male that’s attractive I’ll say “he’s fine to be light” . I don’t think the person meant any harm or disrespect to the man . She just thought he was cute , we all do that .

I really love this song, it’s one of my favorites off her album. I like the video; simple has always been her style. The video doesn’t have to define the song…
I have a lot of respect for Chrisette and her image, she’s an artist worth looking up to and I hope she get the recognition to deserves…
P.S.
If Chrisette has a show near you, you should definitely go. I attended her show in the Chi last week and she’s even better live, plus she really makes an effort to hang out with all the fans after the show…
