In my opinion I kinda agree with the real music statement There are alot of what I like to call manufactured artist out there that labels create they can pick a person off the street who can notts sing and make them a star really throw in the make up hair wardrobe and they have machines in the studio to clean up their voices to go on a record I watched a docu about this and it was just amazing how easily this can be done you be surprised lol lol

It’s amazing how artist like her rarely get air play but Flow Rider’s “Shorty Get Low” is palyed every few second on the radio.
i guess if it works for you fine…for me, the video feels forced…her being with that white boy….feels like an obvious ploy to cross over…call me ur bitter black aunt….but with such a beautiful song….and beautiful message….a woman saying that her man is pure, unadulterated love…it would have been nice to see it be a brother…its just that on BET and other outlets we never see enough Black love…black men and women exalting each other….revering…nah….the man is usually the mandingo…the woman, the sexual object or conquest…so here we are in need of some refreshment from all that and she’s on what seems like a black college campus with….um…a white boy? He was just thrown in there….her record company was like’ hit the crossover’….such a sweet, quiet song….i kinda wanted to see Black love represented that way….not on some grind and fk me ish….like we usually do

I’m sorry but I have to say this: Next time I see a fine brother on this site, I’m going to say, “Mmm. Cute black guy.” or “That’s a nice looking black guy.” or why not stop at that, I’ll say, “That black dude is fine.” Do you see how ignorant that sounds? You all sound like you never thought a white man could be attractive. And, even if you don’t think so it’s okay, it’s your opinion. Some people will hate you for your opinions, but by golly that’s their problem. Not yours! Stop acting like you are trying to be sly about paying a white man a compliment. It’s not such a bad thing. My gosh you are on a blog. So instead of referring to him as a white guy, why not refer to him in a respectful manner….in this case (in a few your opinions) a very nice looking man.

@ 66 . Everyone is entitled to their own opinion , you said it yoursef. I think you are exaggerating and blowing things up ,for no reason . Some women may not find “white” men attractive but thought he was cute , it’s that simple . I prefer dark men ,but If I see a light male that’s attractive I’ll say “he’s fine to be light” . I don’t think the person meant any harm or disrespect to the man . She just thought he was cute , we all do that .
I LOVE IT!! being a young black woman i really look up to women like Chrisette. She doesnt follow the trend, and instead makes her own. i love this song to death. Just goes to show that you dont have to shake everything, scream to the top of your lungs so everyone knows you can sing, just do you.

I have a lot of respect for Chrisette and her image, she’s an artist worth looking up to and I hope she get the recognition to deserves…

If Chrisette has a show near you, you should definitely go. I attended her show in the Chi last week and she’s even better live, plus she really makes an effort to hang out with all the fans after the show…

First of all let me say that this chick is amazing…..I love this sing…i love the video…….The hair is flyness….my only comment is that i hope she stops losing weight cause she is clearly smaller in this video…….I want her to stay true to herself……But as for the music, she can sing an obituary and i would love it……
