Jennifer Hudson premiered her first music video for “Spotlight” (written by Ne-Yo) on Tuesday. The video was directed by Chris Robinson and is the first single off her self-titled debut album, in stores on September 30th.

There is NOTHING “Mascular” about Jennifers vocals, I swear dummy’s make up their own words nowadays.. Jennifer never lacks emotion when she sings, so make up another reason for ur hate. I swear, if she sings too well on a track then people complain that she’s over singing or some dumb sh*t, if she sings it this way then…”It lacks Emotion”.. I’m a fan of great singers, not these weak voiced sex pots out there, stop hating on the real singers and tell your fav singers to step their game up.

Jennifer looks great. The song is decent. Lyrics remind me of Wynter Gordon’s “Surveillance”. And thanks to Crazy T because I clicked the comments hoping someone could ID the video love interest (LOL). And geez, did Campari sponsor the video? There were more shots of the bottle than Jen in the club scene. Overall, I dig it.

First of all she looked beautiful in the video. The make up , hair and outfits were on point. The song is alright for what it is. The song will have to grow on me. Maybe I’m just tired of Ne Yo songs I don’t know. I’m supporting her album. I’m confident it will have nice production on it. Besides, if we want to be bring real singing back, as so many R&B fans have claimed, then we have to show that through supporting the real singers out here.

The video was average at best, but Jennifer looked fab! Nothing special about the video. Kinda of boring to tell the truth, but she looked great. I think as she progresses in the album it will get better.

Ok…I didn’t really read everybody’s comments but I just feel liek I needed to say this about these Clive Davis women…..now….first it was Leona Lewis and I kind of brushed it off cause I smelt Whitney & Mariah on her and it was all up in that video…the treatments with the light and such but this video really did it for me…..that last scene where she was walking down the runway…even her outfit was Whitney….the short cut and just the energy I was getting from her was Ms. Houston and I don’t mind it at all to tell you the truth…..I LOVE this song…it’s s guilty pleasure of mine to listen to on the radio but I’m “excited” to see what else she brings…I just hope they don’t commercialize her too much…oh oh and one more thing….am I the only one ready for Jazmine Sullivan?
