nas has done a great job at sparking controversy. He does things to get people rappers (and so called rappers) journalist, people to think and talk.Like the whole hip hop is dead thing…It worked!

But I think it is a great Idea sparking up the talk about the N word. People want to deny history and reality. Nas wont let you…. Nas makes you think and he is too deep for some of yall. The stuff he says is common knowledge but many people dont even know the truth or they run away form it. Like he said “If I sound to smart yall will run away”

But Nas is and always has been my favorite rapper since I was about 11 yrs old…He went deep with this video

Also it is obvious that Kanye learned a lot from this man! So give Nas his props like yall give Kanye

NUMBER 71

U ARE STILL MISSING THE POINT…

IT ISNT JUST ABOUT USING THE N WORD. HE IS USINTG THIS TECHNIQUE TO DRAW ATTENTION TO THE ISSUES IN TODAYS SOCIETY. MUSIC IS AND ALWAYS HAVE BEEN A FORM OF COMMUNICATION. WE TEND TO DENY THE TRUTH AND HE IS MAKING US FACE IT. nO MATTER HOW MUCH WE DONT USE THE WORD, WE WILL STILL BE CONSIDERED A NIGGA TO A LOT OF PEOPLE. SO LETS PUT IT ON BLAST INSTEAD OF HIDING SCARED LIKE THE DID FOR OVER 400 YEARS. LIKE KANYE SAID “EVEN IF IM IN A BENZ IM STILL A NIGGA IN A COUPE” CAUSE THATS WHAT A LOT OF PPL SEE US AS
i DONT USE THE N WORD BUT I UNDERSTAND WHAT HE IS DOING-

LETS NOT BE SO QUICK TO SAY HE IS WRONG LETS SEE HOW IT TURNS OUT CAUSE HONESTLY WE KNOW HOW SOCIETY IS AND NOT TOO MANY PPL LOOK AT ALL PPL EQUALLY- HISPANICS ASIANS BLACKS WHITES ETC SUBCONSCIOUSLY THINK THEY ARE BETTER THAN THE NEXT REGARDLESS OF THE IMAGE THEY TRY TO PROTRAY IN SOCIETY!

WHAT NAS IS DOING IS WORKING OTHERWISE WE WOULD NOT BE COMMENTING ON IT

Nas is the best Forget the rest!!! I think the point he’s trying to make is no matter what color you are your a n*gger at the end of the day everyone on this earth came from one place and one place only AFRICA.. he said it himself in the song we’re all from Africa!!! So you call me a N*gger what do you think that makes you??? You came from me so if I’m a Nigga so are you!!! “I’m a N*gga, He’s a N*gga, She’s a N*gga, We some Niggas.. Wont you like to be a N*gga too?”

And at the end of the video when he says, “you had everything and you threw it all away” I guess it’s because after he puts this album out people are going to look at him differently but Nas is the type of person who doesn’t care and I really respect him for that.

Anyone who has said that Nas has used the ‘n’ word too many times should know that is exactly the affect that he wanted to create with this song. We live in a society where we take ourselves for granted and therefore other races feel it is ok to do that as well. This is the best Hip-Hop Video that I personally have seen in a long time because nobody seems willing to talk about issues important to them these day and they all seem to be slaves to their labels.

I think alot of you are either too young to know or just forgot…but this whole album concept was already done years ago. Check ya’ll files. Does anyone remember EFIL4ZAGGIN? aka NIGGAZ4LIFE by NWA. They had songs on their like “NIGGA 4 LIFE” where they talked about why blacks call themselves niggas. That’s where Nas got his hook from. Do ya research youngstas!!!!

This was very refreshing to see. I am usually one with lots of words but I find myself at a loss but for good cause. I hope that most young people can listen to this song for what it is and the message behind it and not be too carried away by the word itself.

Man he reminds me of Dave Chippelle on this mess… Lol. I can laugh at it because I understand it on both levels. But they are gonna ride this one all the way to the bank! But on the real though this is a very strong message though and is very true and no it doesn’t pertain soley to Black folks but all people who were and are still being currently surpressed by the “system”. Who has lately been added to the nigga list yall….Mexicans. Don’t forget your Sand Niggas. Who got it hard in the 80’s Cubans. Who took it harder from the Hit man? The Jews. We do all come from Africa too therefore we are all “black”. Some lighter and look different because of changes in climate though. that’s just real though man. Ever heard of Pangea??? Do you know which continent is the largest?? Africa!! Hello. P.S. don’t make our lighter or whiter brothers that are trying to relate feel uncomfortable, besides they aren’t the ones that hurt us. Ever heard of the (Color-reds) people of african decent that look white?? Alot of’em walking around dont even know that the reason they feel the music so hard is because they are black. It’s the same thing just vice versa when it comes down to a black person who looks black dissasociating them self from their own culture to conform.

Really? Another Oohie Wally Song? Do you think that Nas makes his music for attention, if you really listened to his music you would understand that he his simply trying to make us think, so as far as I’m concerned he served his purpose seeing as though we’re blogging about it now. And really when was the last time he came out with an”oochie wally” song. That was back in 1999-2000 and since then he’s had six albums including, stillmatic, the lost tapes (mix cd), god’s son, street disciples, hip hop is dead, and now his ‘untitled” release, and none of those albums had a single realeased that comes close to oohie wally. Nas is an intelligent man. He knows what he’s doing. He makes music that moves him and if you want to buy his records fine, but please believe that he’s not losing any sleep over people like you that don’t understand his music. Nasir is one of the greatest and can’t be denied. Oh, I don’t have time for a cyber war, I’m just stating my opinion. Have a good day.

Nas..What more can I ask for at this point in life. I needed to see the video as I had listened to the song repeatedly for weeks. I love that he chose now to explore this! I was just at work and had to listen to black folks talking about how they would not for Obama now that Hillary was out! I now know that it is ok for me to not ever speak to these individuals ever again. The ONE chance you get to say yes to your ancestors and no to the fact that all they done was not in vain, you decide not to vote. it is my opininon that this is so much more than a vote! Go Nas..Keep inspiring!!

Everyone on here trying to move on from the N word, need to to look at America and what is happening. How is it possible that one of the youngest countries in the world (America) history be so smudged with disgrace.
We just honored the 50th year since King was assassinated.
We know Jim Crow was only an extension of slavery and eneded as little as 38 years ago in some parts of America.
I can say that I have stood in Iraq and heard Bush and other advisors state that it would be at least 60 years before the Iraqis see a change within themselves, having endured the type of totalatarian dictatorship and conflict they have endured.
So why do we feel that such immediate change for former slaves and their offspring would come after 38 years.
Honestly, my grandfather fled Alabama with part of his face removed from a dog of a racist white man. Taking his family with him north, he realized that they were just as racist up north. He developed a fear and disgust for white people which would eventually be passed on to his children (my mom) and taught daily. He did not need to teach much as my mom would have to deal with everytime she left the house. So now those lessons are being taught to me in 73′. Yet with change I can recall the conversation the first time I brought my new white friend home from school. Change would come but be careful of white people. 38 years people, 38 years.

#13,62 and 74 said it perfectly. #13 said everything I want to praise about the vid, #62 cleared the vid up for all the real NIGGAS out there and #74 explain either farther why those NIGGAS sounds like NIGGAS. Congrats to all 3 from me becasue you made my post shorter lol. The only thing I have to say is WTF is up w/ #55? That’s what’s wrong w/ ppl…. I love how this chick is complaining about a damn hook. Lady… not everything is “made for radio” ok? Some songs are actually made for that thing in your head called a brain. It doesn’t ask for a damn hook… it ask for knowledge.

i wish people would stop saying he needs to NOT say the “n-word” — why not? research where the REAL meaning of nigga came from. it didn’t come from the racist you morons..it was apart of us “negger” to be exact. please do some research before jumping down peoples throats for using it.

i love the video…lyrics, very strong message. doesn’t need to be played on the airwaves or on tv…the internet is enough — it’ll get the views
