solange is a TRUE artist and very creative. she thinks outside of the mainstream box which is always risky, but indicative of someone who has talent. anywho i love this song and the video was awesome. i hope this album is successful.

@ TS #37, I def do agree with you about some of the scenes in the background being a little to serious for such a light hearted song. I did do a wtf moment when I saw the water hose scene. If she wanted to put up scenes in the back ground of those times she shouldnt have put some of the worst moments for black people but instead some positives and light hearted material

Where did i say everybody want to listen to club music? I said they said if a song don’t hit hard in the club, it usually flops….clean the crud outta your eyes and read…DUH!

At first I heard the song didn’t really like it. But now that I have seen the video, I am happy for her. I like the video and the song. If the song gets no radio play please the radio plays the same 10 songs every hour. That’s the problem there is no diversity in the radio if you don’t Sirius or XM. I heard one of Solo’s song on Sirius so I know they play her music. Letting the radio determine whats hot does not determine if the artist is hot. Some artist like Algebra, Raheem, and others who are so called out of the box still have major people at there concerts. I think the consumers need to take a stand on radio and let them know they are tired of hearing the same 10 songs. Lets get some effin radio diversity otherwise its just ringtone rap all day.

absolutely adore it. i’m so proud of her. a very different concept. i like how it’s so different, but it seems like she took much inspiration from some of big sis’s previous appearances [dreamgirls, 'greenlight' vid, her bun do for the future scene]. and she looks like bey too, but it’s b/c they’re sisters. she has set herself apart and i couldn’t be happier for her.

I agree with most of you; it’s cute. The only problem I have is that the video, song, and type of music coming from her are not necessarily indicative of her own creativity. More than likely, her production team (song writers, producers, video director) came up with these retro vibe. They pitch the ideas and she simply says ‘yay’ or ‘nay.’ Ya dig?

Also, her people seem to be pumping a lot of press for her project. Too bad Kelly didn’t get the same.

I had my doubts when I heard Solange was coming out with a second album. But I must say I love it. The song is very catchy and the video is very creative. She drew alot of inspiration from the music of the past eras. And to fully know how to create good music you have to know the history of music…So go Solange!

There is more than one type of club, there are hip hop clubs and other clubs thst play that growen and sexy music (at least in the Bay Area). I can see this getting play at many of the mellow clubs out here.
