@H-Town Chic*** the olsen twins make the worst-dressed list a lot of times but i find it funny b/c they set trends undeniably. riri’s whole style (with the black clothing- the leggings, the leather) reminds me sooo much of mary-kate and but mary-kate mostly dresses herself. sometimes she looks too short in her clothing though so riri might pull off the clothing better than her but it doesn’t change the fact that the olsen twins are forever on fashion blogs b/c they are ahead of the curve

i wouldn’t call riri a fashion trendsetter or say she has an original style bc/ if you pay attention to fashion, everything that she’s ever worn has been done by others before. she’s a trend-follower and a very good one at that. she does look good in her clothes, not gonna lie about it.

Didn’t the Olsen chick already rock these (or something similar)? But I’ve seen a few model chicks and a hollywood actress with these back at their show months ago - different heels, 3/4, etc., but in all the same boots. Nothing new here.

I just saw those shoes today in Vogue magazine and it said they only cost $3975??? Why she pay so must for hers? Any way those shoes are horrible looking. They do have a low top version which are a lot cuter though….

#152 Rihanna’s style is nothing like Mary-Kate’s…Mary Kate does it all but she’s mostly grungy/heroin chic with a hot shoe. She accessorizes like a hippie as well… Rihanna, on the other hand, is very modern, high-end, punk…at least, that’s what she’s going for. There is nothing even remotely similiar about their styles…unless you’re saying that because Rihanna likes rings?

She’s also a Balenciaga model and she wore the shoes Rihanna is wearing in the add. They were worn in the ads and on the runway but the first real life person to ever ever wear these shoes is Rihanna.

when i said their styles were similar i put in parentheses that i was talking about the whole leather, shiny leggings, chunky heels, feathers, etc. look. i didn’t say they dressed completely alike b/c mary-kate definitely looks more unpolished but judging by the fact that she dresses herself for the most part, it’s expected. by the grunge look, i think you’re referring to when she’s just chilling b/c she does tend to do the ripped up jeans plaid shirt thing a lot but essentially many of the things that riri has worn (like leather jackets with classy dresses) has been done by mary-kate before. just check her style profile. and though she never wore these gladiator shoes, she was one of the first to rock them in general

all of the outfits worn above by rihanna look great love them all. People should not compare Mary Kate to Rihanna cause rihanna is fly as hell totally highfashion while mary kate looks unkept in her clothes so there is no comparision so i’ll have to agree with rake 100% on this one.

i’ve seen her even rock flower dresses with fur jackets on top. that’s not grunge at all. i think the fact that she always looks washed out is confusing you b/c she does switch it up in terms of clothes.she can do grunge, classy with an edge, hobo/hippie, she’s not one-dimensional. doesn’t matter anyway b/c she’s definitely a bigger force in fashion than rihanna will ever be b/c her look is not contrived.
