Even though its been blazin’ hot lately, Fall and Winter are well under way (51 days to be exact). So its time to store up those shades and gladiator sandals for some of the items coming for the cold season (some already in stores).

“I’d hear a song on the radio and wish mine was next. But I respect a lot of the artists who’ve come along since I was out, especially Rihanna. She’s smart and she’s worked the business instead of having the business work her.”
Ashanti also spoke about some wedding plans…
“I’ve been planning my wedding in my head since I was a little girl, and it just keeps getting more elaborate. I’m a huge fan of the Caribbean, so if I don’t get married in New York, it would have to be on the beach.”
Solange Knowles was spotted shopping in a bright orange dress in London on Thursday afternoon. The singer was performing her new single “I Decided” on GMTV show and went shopping at Miss Selfridge. After shopping, she headed to BBC Radio One studios to be interviewed on the Jo Willey radio show.
In related news, Giorgio Armani recently announced that Solange is the new Armani Jeans ambassador. Giorgio Armani says, “Armani Jeans expresses my vision of a young, independent, casual lifestyle with a strong and cool, fashion sensibility. Solange epitomises this style perfectly and brings to it that swing so evident in her new single, ‘I Decided’.” Her sophomore album, titled SoL-AngeL & the Hadley Street Dreams will debut on August 26th, 2008, on Music World/Geffen and will be followed by a worldwide tour beginning in late autumn.
Rihanna was spotted out and about in NYC Wednesday night (sans Chris Brown) dining out at her favorite spot the Da Silvana restaurant in the West Village. She was spotted leaving the restaurant with BET personality Rocsi, dressed casually in jeans with a white sleeveless top/scarf combo.
After heading back and changing clothes, she came out in a very revealing black tank top and a Herve Leger bandage mini skirt in pink and silver. I could have sworn I saw her rock it in another color? Tianna?! lol…

Ludacris, a strong supporter of Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama, has released a new song titled “Politics: Obama Is Here”.
However, Obama, who once said he had Ludacris in heavy rotation on his iPod, is not too happy with him. The song praises Obama, but bitterly attacks Sens. Hillary Rodham Clinton and John McCain. “Hillary hated on you, so that bitch is irrelevant,” say the lyrics. “McCain don’t belong in any chair unless he’s paralyzed.” Luda calls on voters to “paint the White House black” and adds that “Bush is mentally handicapped.”
The Obama campaign issued the following statement:
“As Barack Obama has said many, many times in the past, rap lyrics today too often perpetuate misogyny, materialism, and degrading images that he doesn’t want his daughters or any children exposed to. This song is not only outrageously offensive to Senator Clinton, Reverend Jackson, Senator McCain, and President Bush, it is offensive to all of us who are trying to raise our children with the values we hold dear. While Ludacris is a talented individual he should be ashamed of these lyrics.”
Angela Simmons recently released a new promo song entitled “Center of Attention” to promote her shoe line Pastry and their newest sneaker releases. We posted the song in the hot or not section a few weeks back and most of you voted it NOT hot.
Anyway, here is the video for the song, directed by Bryan Barber. Also peep a cameo from that fine ass Lance Gross and Angela’s sister and business partner Vanessa Simmons. In the meantime, check the sisters out during the new season of MTV’s “Run’s House”.
Monica hosted a release/kick off party for her new upcoming reality series “The Single” Wednesday night in Atlanta. The series will premiere on ATL’s Peachtree TV on August 5th. Make sure to keep reading to view the promo video for the show. I wish I had the channel, because it looks interesting.
