American Idol’s season 2 winner Ruben Studdard married Surata Zuri McCants at Canterbury United Methodist Church in his hometown of Birmingham, Ala., Saturday with 20 groomsmen at his side.
Studdard, 29, and McCants, 30, obtained a marriage license at the County Probate Office in Columbiana, Ala., last Monday.
The couple met in October 2006, when he was signing CDs at a Wal-Mart in Atlanta. Struck by her beauty, he followed her to the store’s toy department, and requested her phone number. Awwww..

As far as the walmart comments..what is wrong with shopping at walmart? That’s the megastore at the moment and I rather her shop there then to live a lifestyle she can’t afford and be sitting in stacks of debt. Also many stars realize how big the walmart franchise truly is. Beyonce also ran therr albums, commercially through walmart where they advertised commercials for them and were the major carriers for their albums. Face it people today’s consumers mainly shop at walmart more than target, or virgin record stores, or the local cd shop. So artists are smart to run their albums through walmart and sign autographs there.
