Sorry for the lack of updates, but we are down in New Orleans for the Essence Music Festival. We’ll be back on track in a couple of days. lol!
Anyway, I finally got to meet the talented Ms. Tasha Smith on Friday during Day One of the festival. She spoke during the ‘Leading Ladies Talk About The Representation of Black Women In The Media’ panel and signed autographs for her fans. She even took time to chat it up with me & J. Dakar and mentioned that she is a big fan of the site. Let’s just say I’m an even bigger fan now that I met her in person. She’s genuine and definitely deserves her props. Thanx Tasha & Joseph!
In Related News, Tasha has 4 upcoming films in the works and she is also working hard running her successful acting workshop. Keep doing it big Tasha!

Can someone in the UK send me some immigration papers b/c it is a lot of tomfoolery going on in black america these days. Everyone so concerned about what people are wearing and how they look, that’s why the music today is so bad.

Topshop is the bomb!! I visited the U.K. in 2004 and I’ll definetly be coming back! London was awesome…so much history! Ahhh fun times indeed

I think part of the issue is that we have not come to terms with the fact that we are brain washed and a have a very limited perspective of “beauty”. It is not our fault because we get inudated with images non-stop, but we can move past it. It would be “too much like right” if the media would start to show us more diversity so that we can begin to appreciate the full spectrum of human beauty- the different shapes, body types, hair textures, skin tones, shapes of teeth, etc… We really are doing our selves an in-justice by only celebrating one or two types of beauty. And frankly it is starting to bore me-which is why I can’t even bring myself to pay $5 for a magazine any more. There is an exercise that I do, when I find myself “judging” someone’s imperfections (including my own) I try to stop myself. Then I find the beauty in that person or in myself (it be hard sometimes LOL). Try it.
