Lloyd, I love you, truly I do, but neither one caught my eye. I voted for number 1 because it was the “lesser of two evils”. I would suggest a different cover all together.

the first one looks a little better than the second one. they are both lacking in visual appeal- besides the fact that there is a beautiful male specimen on them. it does look like an 80’s flashback. i am not sure if that was intentional. it would be more professional if the artist was not on the cover… instead a scene describing the title.

Ur one of my favorite artists but i chose #1. but honestly neither one fits the theme lessons in love.

oh! and since the album will be titled lessons in love I picture this ultra sexy picture, with lloyd laying down on a red velvet bed, with a white rose and MAYBE a sexy lady.. or somethin close to that =)

hmmmmmm well lloyd not saying that i dont like both of them up there but……what about the photos thats on your myspace page i like the one that when you click on your myspace and the banner pop up….. thats what pic i think you should go with on the front of album..i think it will give you a grown man status…because when i seen that photo shoot i thought you where goin to put thoses so we can choose from…..but i guess not…..not tryin to knock thoses two photos but they are okay….. you want something that will say something about the title of the album and i think that pic will say more than words…well that what i think hopefully you will take that inconsideration……..

Lloyd, I think u shoulda went went the theme of the album, which is kinda typical, but maybe u coulda had on a sharp looking suit, decked out lookin GQ and had one of those pointer sticks in ya hand. But making it real sexy like, just to display how sexy u are. NOW THAT’S TIGHT.

being a professional artist and designer, both of these covers suck. no hate, just a valid opinion.

1. neither cover has ANYTHING to do with the album title, which communicates an extreme lack of creativity and thought process.

2. is the label that hard up to market to an “alternative” (WHITE) fanbase, that you only can find room for A PAIR of black hands to put on #2?

3. what is going on with this burst of light? does the placement of this really make sense? i mean him standing in the middle of nowhere with hands reaching out of nowhere is weird enough….

4. lloyd’s music is way too creative, way to soulful for him to be visually represented like this…

5. if 80’s retro was the “look and feel” they were trying to achieve, the design team fell asleep somewhere in the process b/c their boredom is heavily represented in the failed attempt to capture that look.

are these final two seriously all the art department could come up with? personally, i’ll destroy the entire department by my damn self with my eyes closed….but i’m sure i speak for the creative souls in saying that this is a botched attempt at cover art.

voting on these is like asking me to vote for bush or mcain…i’ll just stay home and not show up at the polls…

Wow @ all the hate up in this post! I actually liked cover #2, but I’ll still buy your album with a blank cover, because your music never disappoints!

P.S. I kinda agree with some commenters that the covers dont fit the album title, but liked someone’s suggestion of perhaps handing roses out to your admirers to soften it up a bit.

I actually voted number two, but I want to take it back. Lloyd, I don’t like either to be honest with you. But if those were your only choices, I’d go with number one. I agree with a few other comments that the second one is a little to cocky. Maybe a multiplatinum artist could get away with it, not to be mean. Whatever you choose, I will still get the album. Your last album was hot by the way.

Another thing,

Just like someone else said, you should have a rose in your mouth laying on a bed or something. Comb out those braids to give you more sex appeal. Ignore all those harsh comments on this message board, CL posters don’t hold nothing back.

I agree with the ones saying you need a whole new ablum cover to me it has nothing to do with the title. It’s just plain and it doesn’t speak to you or capture your eye. Maybe you should add something to it like a woman or something to make the fans believe the cover, but if i had to chose i would pick #1. Love the music though!!!!!!

First let me say that I love your music and I am a HUGE fan of your voice an music. I like the 2nd album cover a little more that #1, but I think neither compliments your album title, your beautiful physical features, or your hot music. Something like the pics you have at the top of your Myspace (with the red light) would be SO much more fitting to the title and I can actually see your beautiful eyes. I’m still buying the album either way though.

Good Afternoon. Now that the voting is over with, I will say this about the album covers.
1. Neither was eye catching or promotion material, neither did either reflect the title of the CD.
2. If you’re going to have lights, don’t wear anything that is reflective (especially with cameras).
3. If you’re going to sell yourself as “grown & sexy” or the lady’s man, be brave enough to show some face (hiding behind the shades isn’t cool).
4. Lastly, shoot different poses with different styles. Actually, the pose in your All Around the World video (hair out, with the 2Pac pose) would have worked very well.
Lastly, the whole picture looked a little lack-luster, no color. It looked really “dry”. Your main goal hear was to catch the eye, get the sale; and neither of these covers would do it. It just seems like this was a last minute thing. Even a pic with you & Lil Wayne would have been better than these 2! You’re both from NOLA…

OK, I think that’s all. I think everyone involved gets the idea. I will buy the new CD because I like the way you have developed your music and continue to do so. Just don’t forget to have a variety on the next photo shoot, or better yet… don’t use this unskilled bamma for a photographer again. Love ya to life & much success!
