Check out this exclusive from Teedra Moses, “So Cool.” Teedra (who is actually one of my favorite artists), released her debut album, Complex Simplicity back in 2004 and I’ve been checking for her ever since. I actually got a chance to speak with Teedra not long ago, and she is working hard on her second album, The Young Lioness, which we’ve been waiting for a long time.Teedra wanted to let all of her fans know that when it’s out, it’s going to be right and well worth the wait.
“So Cool” is a really mellow, dope song. You can definitely hear Teedra’s Prince influence in the Drone One-produced track. What I love about this track is that it’s different for Teedra, but it still has that Complex Simplicity familiarity. I’m definitely digging it.

She is one of the most slept on artist. There are a few and she is one that had an incredible album and got really no recognition.
I can’t wait to hear her new album, and as long as it is good(I am loving So Cool) then it is worth the wait.
I am not familiar with her other music, never really took the time to listen. However, I can dig this song here.
She has a familiar voice but she delivers.

…not what I would expect from Teedra. I’m not diggin’ it. Maybe it will grow on me. The Young Lioness was supposed to drop Feb ’07. I’m very disappointed and I hope that after having to wait so long, the new cd won’t be filled with tracks that sound like “So Cool”. Teedra was like a modern day Cherrelle to me. I hope time hasn’t made her loose her edge.

On first listen, it’s okay. It might grow on me, but I love Complex Simplcity. I bump it all the time and it’s 4 years old. I listen to her Young Hustla Vol. 2 mixtape a lot as well. Does anybody know if she’s signed to a label yet? I hope the TVT situation is settled by now.
Definitely a hot song!! I was really suprised, she got a hit on her hands. It’s definitely hotter than most of the songs on heavy rotation. I love the New Wave 80s sound.

I hear alot of you talk about an artist being slept on. Well let me tell you a little music biz secret, some artist get signed by labels so that artist can not out shine the current focus( the artist thats bringing the cash). Its called buying out the competition. The other issue i see here for Teedra is that her first album raked in the 25 or older crowd which in the industry is bad for a first time artist. The crowd she would need to target to be successful is the 12 and older crowd which is why this song was made, to try to catch the attention of that younger market because thats where the money is…

I love Teedra! She’s sooo underrated. Her voice sounds good on the song, but I don’t like the song. I like ‘Take My Love Away’ from the ‘Young Lioness’. I also like this song she sings called ‘Adore You’ (I think that’s the name of it).

I love Teedra and her voice is so incredible BUT this song is not HOT. Like I understand everyone is trying to go back to the 80s but damn… its 2008, let’s try something new. She needs to pick up where she left off (musically wise) or try something fresh cause this is not a good fit. In fact, the backtrack sounds like that song the white chick in “The Last Dragon” was singing (“Dirty Boy”) lol!

I like it…it has 80′s feel to it. I can definitely hear the influences of Tina Marie, Pat Benatar and Phyllis Hyman. It’s one of those songs that grows on you. I love how crisp and clear Teedra’s vocals are, and I especially appreciate her not trying to vocally overpower the abstract rhythm of this particular song. It’s important to know when to step back and be passive-aggressive in your vocal approach, if it would have been any other way, this song could have easily been a disaster. It would have been too busy and over saturated. Teedra keeps it sultry, sexy and simple. I really like her style and I will be checking for her whenever she drops. Teedra has talent that is worth waiting on.

I love me some TEEDRA MOSES(truly my favorite female singer next to Aaliyah, Amel Larrieux, Sarah Vaughn, Nina Simone & Billy Holiday) Im really feelin Jazmine Sullivan too…dont sleep on her too CL …Anywayz..MS TEEDRA TRULY DESERVES SOOO MUCH RECOGNITION ITS RIDICULOUS. I Get baffled when I see “so called singers” posted everywhere in magazines and all on tv yet the only thing they have to offer is looks “whats in style” in half azz studio produced singing. When theres real & truly gifted singers out here like Miss Teedra that really deserves to be spoked on.
Even though Im not too much of a fan of this track I can listen to it..due to the fact that I just loooove to hear Teedra singing….and she has a plethora of other tracks that I am simply inlove with…..You can tell when you hear real singing because its from the heart & soul.

Upon first listen I immediately thought of Footloose for some reason. Prolly the 80′s beat.. I think in general more artists need to be more creative and create something for 08-09… I didn’t listen to the whole song but she has a nice voice.

This is by far the best Teedra track I’ve ever heard. Don’t get me wrong, I luv me some classic T.M., but she seems to have stepped up her production and songwriting on this one. This is the song that will take her from the artist we know and love that everyone else sleeps on, to the international superstar we know she is.

Complex Simplicity has been played so many times in my house that i’m quite sure my hispanic non-English speaking neighbors could SING THE WHOLE THING BACK TO ME. Now that bunk-ass slow-ass TVT records has let her go, i GUARANTEE Teedra that any record label worth its salt would SNATCH her up and run with her. She’s THAT GOOD. Call somebody, T!
