There’s absolutely no way so many people went to see that Angelina Jolie action film. True she’s the most beatufil woman in the world, but I still don’t see that getting people to shell out $8.00 to see “Mr. and Mrs. Smith” again!! And what about the new robot movie? Who even knew that was coming out? I saw maybe 3 commercials and that’s including the bit of promotion during the NBA finals! And “Get Smart”?? Steve was so funny in “40 YO Virgin” but seriously? “Get Smart”… I think they’re doing like these record companies and buying so many copies to lure impressionable people into stores!

#31 You are clearly not a movie fan because Wall E and Wanted were getting some major promotion. Wall E is now the best reviewed movie of 2008. I saw Wanted in a PACKED theatre the day before it came out in wide release so I think both of their debuts are justified.

#33 actually I’m not a movie fan…at least not big box office films. I’m more into independent flicks. So IFC is where we go for our movie nights… But good reviews might explain Wall E doing well (I say might because it’s a known fact that studios hire critics to give them good reviews and in some cases some of these critics just don’t exist) but the fact that lots of people packed in to see Wanted doesn’t make it a good movie…that’s a bit circular, don’t you think?
