Even though its been blazin’ hot lately, Fall and Winter are well under way (51 days to be exact). So its time to store up those shades and gladiator sandals for some of the items coming for the cold season (some already in stores).
Check out some of the biggest and hottest trends to look out for this Fall and Winter season from the innovative designer runways…
Expect to see lots of paisley prints this year which, were the prints of the runway - featured in Dolce & Gabbana, Burberry, and Gucci…
Length is emphasized this season with designers like Marc Jacobs and Derek Lam featuring clothing with more of a long silhouette. Long dresses and layering long pieces together will surely keep you warmer this season…
Put away those leggings and skinny jeans these season, because the boyish slouch slacks look to reign in the Fall, thanks to Yves Saint Lauren, Alexander Wang and Proenza Schouler…
Little black dresses are always in, but this Fall season - designers add a bit more of va-va-boom with black lace added into the LBD. It was the sexy dress of choice for the runways of Prada, Givenchy, Stella McCartney, and Burberry…
In shoes, we all love a good pair of boots for the winter. Next season, designers like Etro and Alexander McQueen are taking it higher with thigh high boots…
And if boots to your thighs won’t keep you warm - these decorative tights which were popular on Chanel and Chloe catwalks, surely will help while keeping you trendy underneath…
There was a huge western influence on the runways with plaid being another favorite print of designers. Expect to see more country swag with frill and tweed trends…
Designers pumped up the volume with poofy up and volumious skirts featured in shows and can serve as a fun pick for a winter party…
The waist is still a focal point for many designs like Balenciaga and Louis Vuitton - who made tops and jackets emphasizing the hour glass silhouette…
Though the flowers will go for the winter, they won’t go away from fashion. Derek Lam, Michael Kors, and Anna Sui brought flower power back hard for the season…
The jewelry of choice were that of chain links, seen everywhere on the runways - from layered necklaces, to belts, and watches.

These pieces are cute, and they will certainly work once, the retailers such as Sax’s, Nordstroms, etc pick them up. The Designers add and embellish the designs for run ways for dramatic effect, but once the retailers buy them, they will be totally toned down in appearance.

I’m loving the big bottom dresses. I adore the layered and heavy statement necklaces’. The slouch pants I knew would make the cut…and I’m excited about that. I had NO idea the thigh high boots would make a comeback this season too….the very reason I opted to keep them OUT of my closet towards the end of last winter when I seriously considered paying 150.00 for a pair….DAMN.
The floral is one thing I will probably have to take a leap of faith and heavy consideration to rock this season. Plaid business…it is what it is…and it’s EASILY put together so I like that! The lace I don’t think you’ll see unless you hit a red carpet event…….
Overall….I’m excited….
I want to see Kanye type updated 80’s Swag hit the streets EVERYWHERE this season too!
