Usher has the right idea. Marriage is a choice, and both Seal and Heidi Klum have the same perspective. I read an article on them and they indicated that their marriage is first priority. There is a sequential order of things. And this is not to say that the child doesn’t have priority as it relates to basic needs and wants, but when you are happy in your marital relationship, it funnels down to the children. I have read every comment posted (because I am at work bored) and I must say 2 things… 1) Everyone speaks of Usher’s son as if they didn’t expect the child to be cute and 2) Let’s face the facts. This isn’t the same Usher we grew to luv from 8-7-01 to Confessions. You can say its maturity or his “grown man swagger” but I say otherwise. You shouldn’t have to market yourself as a grown man, we should be able to see it. Ultimately, Usher’s image changed when reports of strains with his mother surfaced. Usher married a person with a shady past (read up on it if u don’t know) and his mom wasn’t pleased. Tameka ended up pregnant and Usher did the right thing by making her an honest woman. The baby boy is adorable, and Usher like most people has grown up. He is finding his way as a husband and as a father. Unfortunately he is having to do it all publicly because that’s his livelihood, and because he has been in the spotlight since he was a child, he really knows no other way.

The attacks on Tameka have been some of the most vicious, hateful, searing attacks I have ever read about any celebrity or celebrity spouse. So awful, that I wanted to defend her, even though I don’t know her or love her. I applaud Usher for speaking out and up for his wife and his decision to marry her. He is happy about being married and having a child. That is a positive message. Let him make it. We certainly have enough images in the print media and on TV and the internet tthat give the impression, black men don’t give a … about their children and their women.

I get what you mean, but Beyonce was a multi-millionaire with endorsements before dating Jay. If Jay’s bank account was the main reason Daddy Matthew let his daughter date Jay, Matthew would have NEVER been against it in the first place. I also agree (to a certain extent) that we shouldn’t have to congratulate a man on something he should be doing. The reality is however that there are a lot (far too many) men who are not doing living up to their responsibilty as a husband and/or father. So, Usher’s stance is a breath of fresh air.Also, celebrities are role models (although they shouldn’t be) for a lot of children out there. Very glad to see Usher doing him! Let the man be a man and do his thing. Stop fronting on his wife that he loves and stop fronting on the music. When you really love someone you will sing it to the top of the mountains and as loud as you can. “Love in the club” was the weakest joint on the album to me. It had no substance and Jeezy (though think the guy is an ok rapper) “SUCKED”!! I dont even think he (Usher) likes the song.

Once again when some of you get married and have kids and are really in “LOVE” and not that fake Tv , movie, or cuz we get booty from each other and think thats love, love, you will not understand the meaning behind the album.

Please. I could care less about the meaning of ‘Here I Stand.’ It’s quite simple, my ear drums can’t take the CD. Nothing personal against Usher. The CD just bores me. I’m happy people enjoy the CD, I’m just not one of them. And don’t judge my personal life just because I dislike his CD. That dislike does not make me a delusional woman so don’t even throw that generalization out there. You don’t want people judging him. Fine. Don’t be judgmental in the same hypocritical, ignorant breath.

I tried to like his album but its straight garbage. But i applaud him for taking care of his son and being a good husband. Next time around…please get some good music homie
