Tyler Perry…*smh*…I don’t even know what to say. On one hand, I’m happy to see a black man doing such positive things, but on the other…I just feel like his films are all the same. A black woman losing faith…meets a humble hard working black man…black woman feels conflicted for her love of the himble black man vs the pride eogtstical stereotypical (playa-player) black man…it’s like he never varies from the script! LOL, well at least he’s giving black actors and actresses a chance at the big screen…so kudos to him!

I just watched the trailer for the Lena Baker story: This brought tears to my eyes. I love moving stories… Go Pam or should I say bidda-bee!!

One last thing about the Lena Baker movie. I think it’s jsut as important to show these films in Montana or Nevada as it is Atlanta. The Black experience shouldn’t be limited to the South. There are plenty of people throughout this country that have either turned a blind eye to events like these or are just plain uninformed/ignorant. And that’s partially why it’s so easy for people in the Midwest (for example) and beyond to misunderstand who Blacks are and why some Blacks are still so angry.

I think it’s great that we have these types of movies. However, when the same people keep hearing the same story, it loses its luster and impact. I’m sure Georgians and Carolinians are more than familair with these stories. Let’s get the word out elsewhere too.

After doing some research about Lena Baker, I’m actually kinda afraid to see the movie! I feel like I’ll be traumatized by the visuals..ala “Monster’s Ball” meets “The Ghosts of Mississppi”. But she might get an Oscar nod

THE ONLY DIFFERENT ONE WAS WHY DID I GET MARRIED. HAVE SOME MORE PLOT LINES WITH THIS NEW DEAL YOU GOT TYLER.

LOL@Snoop. I LOVE Bollywood movies, they’re so colourful and over the top!! The theatres across in the States showin them have subtitles, so no need to understand Hindi. I got a lot of Indian friends, there’s LOADS here in New Jersey (and the food is incredible too!!) and got introduced to them.

I met an indian (not native american) and asked him about an bollywood actress that was getting a lot of hype here in the US a few years ago and he said he didn’t know what i was talking about. Congrats to Tyler Perry, I agree all his movies do have the same story line. However, I’m sure most of you have seen the preview on here for “The Family that Preys Together”, well it looks quite different and has other great actors in it. I think it should be very interesting.

I’ve seen “The Lena Baker Story” and Tichina Arnold and the director deserve Oscars. The film is amazing!!! This trailer doesn’t do it justice.
