It seems that the back up singers for Destiny Child cannot get a break. Kelly two albums flopped and now Michelle album is getting pushed back. What’s next??? Glad to see T-Boz doing her thing. Chilli’s single did not go over well because of the dumb lyrics. The girl is almost forty trying to sing a teenager song. She has a nice voice and would do better with ballads or songs for her age group. Jazzmine SUllivan is a force to be reckoned with!

No…for real…I wish them all luck in their careers and in this “crazy business” but being honest…I don’t know how far it’ll get them. Michelle has been coming out for the longest. I have yet to hear a song wit just her that I enjoy. I like Jazmine Sullivan’s song, and for T-Boz, she gotta come back a lil reinvented and hard or she will just be passed over. I hope they have a good plan for her being solo, her voice may need some other vocal support to have a hot song.

We big up Keri on the writing, but seem to forget that Cristyle is the one who has been the go 2 writer this year, and Cristyle also has upcoming placements on Beyonce,Brandy,Jennifer Hudson,and Monica albums so Chilli is in some great company…it’s more about her timing.

Jazmine is the hottest real r&b artist out right now, and I see her debut album being a big seller, but doing it slowly like Amy Winehouse. I think that she will own the Grammy’s 09 for the simple fact that every couple of years, you have the r&b artist who takes the world by storm and get’s 5 grammys. Lauryn,Alicia,Beyonce,Amy, and I’m not saying she’ll get 5 but I do think she’ll get atleast 2 because she’s unique and plus she has Salaam Remi in her corner who scored big with Lauryn & Amy.

I agree with Brian, Raphael Saadiq collaboration will be hot. They’ve collaborate twice before. Once on Saadiq’s solo effort, “Instant Vintage,” on a track entitled “Different Times,” it’s hot song about the ups and downs of life. Saadiq also produced a song from TLC’s 3D album (one of the most slept on tracks of that time IMO) “So So Dumb.” Check both tracks out and you’ll know that T and Saadiq is coming w/ that fire. @21 - Although you were a bit “direct” you may have a point, however, Michelle was in the Get Me Bodied video because that, in my opinion was one of Bey’s best ones of all times. Remember, there were four girls in the intro of the video, Bey, Kelly, Solange and Michelle. Pull it up on YouTube. Kelly did ok on her fist album but it was in the bargin bin within weeks and for her to have been formerly a member of a multi platinum group, that’s horrific. That second album went straight to the bin immediately! Sorry, but she’s still back up singer material. Sales speak volumes.

Michelle and Kelly’s lack of success has nothing to do with Matthew. I just think some artist are made to be part of a group. Kelly and Michelle arent solo artist material. Have yall seen them on stage by themself? Its a mess. If they dont have Beyonce standing next to them they are a bore.
Plus, neither of them is good at picking singles. “Stop the Car” should totally be the next single, but Michelle is picking “The Greatest” which isnt radio friendly at all.

Which brings me to T-Boz. She isnt made to be a solo artist either. Without Chili and Left Eye by her side her succeeding is pretty doubtful.

I really wish T-Boz the biggest success! I am and will always be a huge fan of TLC and each individual member, as they all brought different vibes and elements to the table. I will continue to support T-Boz and Chilli in their solo ventures. What I would have really hoped was that they would have taken on “the Challenge” Left-Eye made. I believe that the magazine article (Entertainment Weekly) in which Left-eye stated: “I challenge Tionne ‘Player’ Watkins and Rozonda ‘Hater’ Thomas to an album entitled The Challenge. A 3 CD set that contains three solo albums. Each…will be due to the record label by October 1, 2000.”-EW, would squash all the unlove people are showing T-Boz and Chilli as they are trying to become Solo artists. Congrats T-Boz!

Michelle, I wish her much success too! I never appreciated her in Destiny’s Child, as I loved the original line-up better. However, I feel she was and will be a great gospel artist if she go back to her roots. She just never came off to me as a pop/R&B artist.

Jazmine Sullivan is the absolute truth. There is no one out like her right now AT ALL….she will do wonders for the music industry because unlike most she will make it on PuRE talent. no look can substitute for the talent she has…and no comparison will do her justice…She will remind us all what it once felt like to admire an artist for what they sounded like, not for what they looked like …she is on her to the top!

By the time they finally get around to releasing an album, they have leaked all of the music and videos. And they wonder why music sales are i the state that they are in.

Back in the day, your album came out when it came out - folks ain’t setting around marking their calendar for a release date - it’s the same music whether you get it in the first week or a year later.

And to all that keeps sayin she flopped,correct yaself. BOTH albums are multiplatinum. Simply Deep has sold 4 million and Ms. Kelly has sold 2.7. And TAY….let me get u together b4 I go. I would have definitely supported michelle’s album, but I dont think her MGT is the problem at all, I mean is she and Kelly retarded? They wouldnt stay around and let Mathew Knowles play them like that.

I love the Jazmin Sullivan performance although I feel the lyrical content of the song could be better. Wish there were more real vocalist in the black music industry.

I feel like the content of Jazmines song was beautiful. She is a very wonderful artist AND I am seriously anticipating her album & her next single. God Bless her AND I know she is going to do well. BTW, ya’ll look out for Jennifer Hudson, Karina (although she is young she is very talented), and Keri Hilson! Finally we have some fresh faces to reckon with. Personally, all of these artists are unique in there own individual ways. Jazmine Sullivan is a breath of fresh air. Her voice is beautiful and she’s just what the game’s been missing. R&B has been on a rising slump and I besides what the naysayers say people are taking note to her gift and will support her.

I’m sad that I’m young and missed out on real music and R&B..it’s nice to have somebody in my age group who’s about something. The Rihanna’s..great “package,” but it’s an empty box. I can’t wait for any and all of her upcoming projects, that performance gave me chills, I checked out her Apollo gig on YouTube, and brought tears to my eyes. Girlfriend’s voice is RIDICULOUS. I’ll most definitely be copping that album! She’s like my new favorite artist. ‘08 is a good year for music!

First things first: damn…Jasmine Sullivan is about to have a lot of female singers pulling their weaves out! I am so glad to see that she really does sound good without major production driving the song. Secondly, I do not see how Kelly Rowland’s album could have recieved any better promotion than it got. Promotion was not the problem, because the cd was advertised everywhere for over a year before it was acually released. Copies of it were leaked in antcipation of its release, and that is what hurt her sales. People saw that Miss Kelly didn’t have strong enough material to piss away a hard earned fifteen bucks or so. Latoya had a gold single with “Torn” and managed to sale a few albums off of “she don’t.” Once people heard the rest of the record, it was nothing that could be done to help it sell; people have ears and opinions! And in most cases, even if people bootleg a cd that they like, they still go out and buy it when it is released in stores. I think that Michelle is just suffering the same fait as the others for the ame reason as they did. Nobody from Beyonce’s camp is sabotaging the other girls. I mean, Salonge’s first cd went copper or glass didn’t it? She is Beyonce’s sister. It just is what it is. Sadly, I think that Kelly sings better than Beyonce; Kelly just needs better songs, and to stop trying so hard to show us her ghetto side (or at least come with something a little better than the collaboration with Snoop next time she gets it in her head to try). I think the reason we like her is because she is so regal and poised and humble along with her talent. She doesn’t need a gimic. Taking the song she had with Da Brat off Miss Kelly also was a silly move, because that is one of the highlights of the bootlegged copy.

I can’t wait for Jazmine’s album!!! She sounds like Kim Burell. I LOVE her voice!!!
