KEYSHIA COLE UPDATE
Keyshia Cole is currently in the studio recording her third yet-untitled CD to be released late 2008. The singer is gearing up for a soon-to-be announced tour. She will also start taping the 3rd season of her hit BET reality show, “The Way It Is.” The second season was the highest rated program in the network’s history.
While recording the new record, it is reported that Keyshia will begin shooting a film based on her life.

A new Amerie promo pic hit the net today. The singer recently inked a deal with Def Jam Records after she parted ways with Columbia Records earlier this year. Amerie is hoping the new contract with Def Jam will help boost her career to even greater heights.

Im soo tired of them making Keyshia Cole out to be this girl whos has been through more than the average person. Her life aint got shyt on some of the people I know. How about making a movie out of MJB’s life. Thats something worth watching. Keyshia Cole is already working on a 3rd album…What ever happen to the MJBs, Alicia Keys and Whitney Houstons, who disapear for a minute and come back with something to talking about. “Jus Like You,” should have been named “The Way It Is Pt. II,” because there was nothing about the album that was different from the first. Damn I miss real music….No SHADE!

I have no love for Amerie! I liked her before weight loss and nose jobs became her focus, i loved her first album (i think the nose job runied her voice) but shes kinda gone downhill from there, strained vocals and boring persona. A record label can only do so much and theres a enough clothes horses in the business.
- Solange is in a lane of her own and people are too afraid to get in it with her. Shes so creative and her new sound is dope. H-Town stand up!

Keyshia is my girl…Yea she do have them “oh woe is me songs” but its good to listen to sometimes…to bad she only sings good on her cd….cuz live she sucks…at least at the 2008 BET awards she did….but she did good on BET spring break segment. This just my opinion though. She got the look down packed now cuz she was lookin hood as hell when she first came out. Solange’s album cover is so 60′s and physcadelic inspired. I love it. In fact, I’m surpised she’s getting any props. I remember when people treated her as the long lost sister LOL. Good to see she’s coming into her own.
I like Amerie as well. But, I’m not to sure about Def Jam (as said above me many times). I hope she has Rich Harrison back on board as her producer though. They always had great chemsitry. I wonder will she do another collabo with Nas, now that they’re both label mates again? After all, he did introduce her on his Stillmatic album, and they both were on Columbia, and they have several collabos already. So I guess another would be in order.
Solange is just too unbelievable! First of all, she looks like a knockoff Beyonce with the mass of weave, hers is just black…and the pound of make up, hers is just more eccentric. And most of all she SOUNDS like a knockoff Beyonce. If she were not Beyonce’s sister, she’d be one of the contestants laughed at during the American Idol auditions. Or am I the only one who notices that she strains and strains to no avail and yet instead of cutting the note short like most who know they can’t sing, she’ll trail it on for several seconds like she’s exploring new octaves. smh!
Oh, and to those of you who brought up the psychedelic look of the cover, it’s not so much that as it is a knockoff of Prince’s cover for…forgot the name, but I’ve got the vintage record. It’s a scene outdoors with the front of a car, broken signs, a mass of instruments, and tons of other “junk”… that’s what she’s trying to accomplish here…operative word is “trying”
Love the vinyl albums and the victrola and turntables strewn about on Solange’s CD cover. There’s actual symbolism behind it. I dig it. Its like she’s an ‘angel’ that fell to earth in an urban environment bearing an old-school sound (hence the stack of records and old electronics).
I totally get what she was trying to convey. She’s a live wire, and i’ll def. be copping the record-LEGALLY! And these days, it takes something very special to get me to pay my hard-earned money for sh*t.
Pixie, you think it looks like Sign O’ The Times? It looks nothing like that Prince cover IMO. Solange’s is organic, and that’s about the only similarity they have.
I can’t wait for Keyshia’s new album. She’s like the new MJB. I also can’t wait to see what Amerie is bring to the table. She can’t sing that well but at least you feel emotion in her tracks and her writing is pretty good (yes… she writes her own songs).
