Singer/songwriter Solange enjoys her #1 spots Billboard’s “Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles Sales” chart and the “Hot Dance Singles Sales” chart for her first single, “I Decided” from her forthcoming sophomore album, SoL-Angel & the Hadley Street Dreams. The new project, which Solange has described as a melting pot of ’60′s and ’70′s soul, with bits of electronica, is being released via Music World/Geffen Records on August 26th.
The album features a host of huge names, which Solange said she really had to seek out for the project. Cee-Lo co-wrote the second single, “Sandcastle Disco,” which features Q-Tip and production from Soulshock & Karlin. I’m glad to see that Solange’s new project is being well recieved, as well as her live performances. Solange just wrapped up the “Art of Love” tour and is putting the finishing touches on the album. So if you’re digging what you’ve heard so far, make sure you pick up SoL-Angel & the Hadley Street Dreams in August!

MORE CIARA ALBUM NEWS

Ciara performs with Chris Brown at 2008′s BET Awards
Our good friends at Rap-up.com have acquired some news on Ciara’s third album, Fantasy Ride, which we’ve been talking about for some time now. Ciara recently went into the studio with Rodney “Darkchild” Jerkins to punch out some songs for the LP. We’ve also learned that she’s set to collaborate with T-Pain and long-time friend and contributor, Lil’ John.
The new record is said to be a concept album, centered around 3 cities. Each “city” will have it’s own disk, with 4 to 5 songs, each with their own direction. “Groove City” will feature songs similar to that of the single from her last album, “Promise,” while “Crunktown” will be more reminiscent of Ciara’s debut album, Goodies (Lil’ John’s tracks will probably fit in here), while Ciara will hit heavy with hard beats and dance tracks on the appropriately titled, “Kingdom of Dance.”
Originally slated for a September release, Ciara has pushed the album back to drop in November, with a lead single dropping sometime in July. The label originally announced “High Price,” featuring Ludacris as the first single, but Ciara wants to go a different direction. A video is going to be released for the single in August.
DANITY KANE SHOOTS SECOND VIDEO

Danity Kane, who debuted at #1 on the Billboard charts with their latest album, Welcome to the Dollhouse has just finished shooting their second video for the second single, “Bad Girl,” featuring Missy Elliott. It’s about time, ladies!
It was originally reported that the girls of DK were set to play along side professional female wrestlers in the video, but it seems as though the Erik White-directed clip (he’s worked with Chris Brown and Keyshia Cole) will feature the girls as butt-kicking femme fatale alter egos.
“It’s on fire,” Aubrey O’Day told MTV News on the Los Angeles set of the “Bad Girl” video. “Five-inch heels, massive choreography — Gil Duldulao is our choreographer, and he’s worked with Janet Jackson. He’s fab.”
I’m excited to see what the girls come up with this time around, because the second video has just been a long time coming for this second video.
