Brandy is definitely about to be back and I think she’s ready to prove that she’s still got it. Vocally, I have always loved Brandy. She is simply amazing. Her vocal arrangements always take me some place else. From Never Say Never, to Full Moon, to 2004′s Afrodisiac, Brandy has given me solid albums with innovative production, writing and vocal arrangements.
“List” is apparently a new leak from the album, produced by the Underdogs. Although not confirmed as a first single, I’m excited to hear music from new sessions. The album is also set to contain production and writing from our good friends at The Clutch, Rodney “Darkchild” Jerkins, Keri Hilson, the talented Bryan-Michael Cox, and Nate “Danjahandz” Hill. It’s shaping up to be quite the interesting project.

The funny thing is that this isn’t even Brandy’s official single and EASILY it sounds better than any song I’ve heard on the radio this whole year! If this an indication of the direction and sound she’s going for on her new album, I can’t wait to see what the official single is going to sound like.

I am glad Brandy is back. I think she will do fine. I am so tired of hearing Rihanna,Beyonce,and Alicia Keys. We need something different. When I come to these sites to check out new females’ music,everybody wants to compare Beyonce to dam near every female artist. She has a great voice,but her music is not meaningful. I can pop in an old Brandy,Ashanti,Toni Braxtion,and etc and listen to the entire cd. I can’t pop in an old Beyonce and listen to every song. I like some of her songs,but not every song. Brandy is a legend and she has a unique voice that no one can duplicate. You can find a lot of female arists that sound like Beyonce,Alicia,Rihanna, and the others. None of them can get as low as Brandy (sitting in my room) and then hit those high notes that put chills through your body (nothing). Brandy is in a lead of her own with comes to voices. The control, the harmonizing in the BG vocals, and her rifts. Not to mention Brandy can actually SING in her lower register which very few FEMALE singers, INCLUDING BEYONCE ,can do without sounding like they are struggling or talking over the track. (If you don’t believe me listen to Beyonce’s voice on “Love” from the Destiny Fulfilled album and compare to many songs from Brandy’s Afrodisiac.) For y’all that think she can’t sing I need you to go and listen to “When You Touch Me,” Nothing,” “I Thought,” and “Love Wouldn’t Count Me Out.” Seriously, go download, listen, and come back and tell me she still can’t sing. I dare Beyonce, (hate to bring her into this cuz I love her) to try and sing “When You Touch Me” and slaughter it like Brandy did. You are so right! I have been saying that about Brandy for years. I really do think that people with a real “EAR” for music appreciate Brandy’s music a whole lot more. For the most part, more soulful singers are underappreciated in the music industry anyway.
