Whitney Houston joins forces with hitmaker Akon to bring you some new music. “Like I Never Left” is a cool mid-tempo love song, but when listening, I kind of think it has two meanings. I detected a bit of, I don’t know, an apology from Whitney Houston in some form? Almost as if she wants her fans to overlook what’s been going on in her personally life, and just embrace her again as the icon that she was.
Whitney has been performing, so hopefully this will be her comeback for the new album that people have been talking about for a while now. Supposedly, she is also working with Ne-Yo for this upcoming project.
Wack. The song is dry and boring. People continously clown Mariah’s voice, but Whitney doesn’t sound like anything anymore. And to the person who clowned Mariah for dressing like a hooker, wouldn’t that be more acceptable than someone who is/was a crackhead? I’ll say. Besides, Whitney fans are basically the last to talk shit about Mariah’s voice. Whitney doesn’t sound like shit anymore. I mean at least Mariah still sounds great in concert.
I see there are Mariah Stans ^^ that couldn’t wait to come hate on Whitney as usual. It’s tired and predictable by now. I know it’s hard to accept the fact that Mariah will always be in the shadow of Ms. Houston. Face it, Mariah doesn’t get the same kind of love and respect that Whitney, The Voice, gets. Mariah will always be the second fiddle. Whitney can pick up a crackpipe now and smoke from here to eternity and her legacy is still set. The Bodyguard alone whoops anything Mariah has or will ever do.
NO PASSION IN HER VOICE. while i do think she sounds better than she has in years. This song is corny, it’s like putting Aretha Franklin and Soulja boi on the same record, Whitney is a Legend and Akon is a fad. He’s not gonna be around 10 years from now. NOT COOL.
Mariah, i agree with most of ya’ll, on her new CD she is singing her butt off, Thanks for Nothing and I wish you well bring The VOCALS. It does make me say..SING BIT_CH. Tell those haters and cheat ass Nizza to BOUNCE. SING MARIAH>

I enjoyed this song because it has a nice groove to it outside of many of the things you hear today. It’s a more mature song not some booty popping stuff. Whitney is up there in age guys so no I’m not expecting her to work with Timbo or Stargate. To me that would be a stupid move. I can see her working with Quincy, B Cox, Wyclef, Jimmy jam and Terry, and babyface for her hitmakers. I didn’t really like Akon on this track. Whitney’s voice alone would have been great. I can’t wait to hear more from her.

Whitney take a cue from all the other Legends of old…switch gears…do a standards album (i.e. Natalie Cole, Chaka Khan, Deborah Cox) and leave POPular music alone….
Oh but i forgot, you actually have to be able to sing to do standards….MY BAD !
maybe it is better for u to go up against the Ashantis, Rihannas and Solanges of the world…Lord knows your voice has been reduced to their level…

Well I have fallen in love with this song. Whitney’s voice is sounding strong, and pure again. I hear her heart in this song and yes…..our girl is coming….like she never left, and I can’t wait!!!!!

God has the last word not man so what she made some mistakes don’t we all, but we still would not like God to give up on us so she is no different. Keep walking in faith whit don’t let people have the last say about your life because your Lord and Savoir Jesus Christ is there , and he is ever forgiving and has so much mercy. Keep singing whit God gave you that voice ,and he will continually heal the more you trust in him. Whitney is singer and not a circus show so I will support the black queen reguardless of how the world sees her because I no what faith is all about. Glory to God. I love Whitney she is the best of the best but, this is nice a good vocal performance and Akon, should not be singing a whole verse, he is not a singer @ oils… Mess. the music sounds good. Hopefully the name WHITNEY HOUSTON & AKON will carry the song, I personally thinks my girls needs more rest, she did not tear it up over night and she is not going to heal it over night.
