Whitney’s hey day has passed. The Boyguard represented her peak of her voice and popularity. However; I must say that alot has changed since then and I am proud of her for getting herself together. Now “Like I Never Left” is not groundbreaking, but it is a very nice song. The melody is subtle and just enough, avoiding being over-produced. The lyrics and title are two-fold, addressing the public vs Whitney as well as the songs fictional love interest. I am excited to hear the tone in Whitney’s voice sounding better than it has in years. We as fans should be realistic. She has already made the greatest music of her career. Considering the changes she has gone through I’m pleased with what I hear. My only hope is that the changes have affected her personal life as well.

I’m 20, and To be honest, she dont need no damn Akon co-sign her, Michael Jackson neither. Leave the Akon’s & T-Pain’s for Flo Rida, E-40, Gwen Stefani. & Britney Spears and them because either they are Irrelevent or they tryin to add a little Flavor in their sound. Whitney needs to give it up…get into producing movies…maybe go back to ACTING…because the ship has sailed. And it probably has very little to do with her past…I don’t think ANY older audience can have the success they had before with this generation of consumers. I’ve said before it’s about an obsession with youth, but I’m not so sure it isn’t about novelty. I think artists who had success as recent as five years ago, like Beyonce and Usher won’t ever have it again at that level. And it’s because Consumers don’t give that much weight to music anymore (because everyday life is pretty bleak) and so they want something that amuses them in a sorty of fanciful or whimsical way. And I think the artists who actually amuse them and also happen to be very good singers are just lucky…like Amy Winehouse, whose music is the best we’ve heard in decades but is also very animated, a white girl with a bee hive and crack addiction… Or Lil Wayne who, like Amy Winehouse, actually makes good music, gritty spontaneous prose but is also a wanton drug addict and an unrepentantly stereotypical looking kid… Or Rihanna who actually can hold a note and has made some of the best euro dance stuff in years but probably doesn’t deserve all her success and is probably most appealing because a generation of people like the escapism of a musician who is famous because she’s a fashion icon who breaks all the rules or are amused by a black girl who seems to seriously want to be a rocker. And the Jonas Brothers and Miley Cyrus, of course.

Everyone wants to hear whitney do these unneccesary vocal gymnastics on this song when it doesn’t need all that. First of all, concrete loops holy grail Rhianna the Haircut, doesn’t even come close to singing this great, hell there is barely any other chick who can sing like this on radio. But everyone loves the bull artists. This track is hot. But hey I bet most of these wack comments are from people who’s album collection is full of individuals from 2004-present. This voice is classic.

I will always love Whitney…like one person said she is human…so I don’t hold anything against her either. But it is still sad, because obviously she cannot hit the high notes anymore. And that’s what made Whitney. If I listen hard enough (although it may be my own imagination), while she’s singing I hear a little of that Akon/T-Pain robotic assistance in her voice…i think. I enjoyed this song because it has a nice groove to it outside of many of the things you hear today. It’s a more mature song not some booty popping stuff. Whitney is up there in age guys so no I’m not expecting her to work with Timbo or Stargate. To me that would be a stupid move. I can see her working with Quincy, B Cox, Wyclef, Jimmy jam and Terry, and babyface for her hitmakers. I didn’t really like Akon on this track. Whitney’s voice alone would have been great. Well I have fallen in love with this song. Whitney’s voice is sounding strong, and pure again. I hear her heart in this song and yes…..our girl is coming….like she never left, and I can’t wait!!!!!

God has the last word not man so what she made some mistakes don’t we all, but we still would not like God to give up on us so she is no different. I love Whitney she is the best of the best but, this is nice a good vocal performance and Akon, should not be singing a whole verse, he is not a singer @ oils… Mess. the music sounds good. Hopefully the name WHITNEY HOUSTON & AKON will carry the song, I personally thinks my girls needs more rest, she did not tear it up over night and she is not going to heal it over night.
