
Vogue Italia’s “all-Black” issue has been selling out on New York newsstands and around the globe, prompting Condé Nast to reprint the issue with “Most Wanted Issue Ever” and “First Reprint” banded across the front.
As reported by UK news source The Guardian, in the past four weeks, the issue has caused such a phenomenal demand at news-stands in Britain and the United States that Condé Nast, the publisher, has rushed to reprint and distribute 40,000 more copies.
Vogue Italia editor Franca Sozzani says she was inspired by Barack Obama: “America … is ready for a black president, so why are we not ready for a black model?” she asks.
