SPOTTED: KELIS AT THE AIRPORT / ZOE IN NYC / JURNEE AT MOVIE PREMIERE

Kelis was spotted at LAX on Monday going through the security line. Don’t you hate taking off your shoes, that ish is really annoying. Anyway, the singer looked very laid back for her flight and was rocking a new ‘do.

MOVIE NEWS: TICHINA ARNOLD IN ‘LENA BAKER STORY’ / TYLER PERRY RE-UPS WITH LIONSGATE / SNOOP GOES BOLLYWOOD

Synopsis: Lena Baker was a maid who was executed for murder by the State of Georgia in 1945 for killing her employer, Ernest Knight in 1944. At her trial she claimed that he had imprisoned and threatened to shoot her should she attempt to leave, whereupon she took his gun and shot him.

A jury of 12 white men, her subpoenaed peers, found Lena guilty of murder in less than 6 hours. She received the death penalty as her sentence, earning Lena Baker a place in history as the first and only woman to be sentenced to death by electric chair in the state Georgia. She was pardoned posthumously in 2005.

The Lena Baker Story stars actress Tichina Arnold and has yet to have an official release date. Although the movie will have small screenings in Atlanta, word is the are still looking for a US distributor. Looks good though.

EVENTS: T.I. & “Respect My Vote!” Campaign Launch

T.I. & OTHER CELEB GUEST AT THE EVENT

T.I. showed his support for the Hip Hop Caucus’ “Respect My Vote” campaign in Washington D.C. on Monday. The campaign, led by the rapper will employ other celebrities, athletes and high profile influential figures to get out the vote in a variety of ways including PSAs for radio, television and online use; in person appearances; press events; mobile and email alerts from celebrities themselves; and an aggressive online campaign. Also at the event: DJ Green Lantern, Dawn from Danity Kane, Yung Berg (booo!), Maino.
