When Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton dropped out of the presidential race last month, I’m sure she anticipated getting something out of it from Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama. Obama has mentioned, numerous times, that Clinton would be on anyone’s shortlist. According to published reports, though, anyone but Obama’s.
When Obama appeared on Sunday’s Meet the Press, he hinted that his vice president would be someone not closely identified with Washington, which could possibly rule out Clinton.
More telling is that in recent days, Clinton has said that she believes there’s little chance that Obama will choose her and the mention of her being under consideration is but a courtesy.
Obama’s aides and associates even say that, for various reasons, he is not looking at Clinton to run and serve with him.
An announcement of his VP choice may be made a week before the Democratic National Convention on Aug. 25, Obama has said. Aides to the Illinois senator, however, say it could be sooner.
MCCAIN COULD SUPPORT-16 MONTH IRAQ TIMETABLE

On Monday’s Larry King Live, Republican presidential candidate John McCain said he could support a 16-month timetable for withdrawing troops from Iraq. He added that he would only do that if military chiefs deemed the “conditions on the ground” safe, though.
McCain said he would not stick to a “hard and firm date” that his Democratic counterpart, Sen. Barack Obama, suggests. Earlier this year, at a town hall meeting in New Hampshire, McCain said that U.S. troops could be in Iraq for “a thousand years” or “a million years,” as far as he was concerned.
Asked whether he’d support another invasion of Iraq, McCain responded:
“The fact that Saddam Hussein was bent on acquiring weapons of mass destruction. … I think we did the right thing.
I think that it was a colossal intelligence failure on the part of the United States and every other county as to whether he had them or not.
And then we employed the wrong strategy, which doomed us to failure and we were losing this war when I said we had to have this new strategy all along and stood up for it when most political pundits said that my career was finished.”
McCain also vowed that he would apprehend Osama bin Laden and “bring him to justice no matter what it takes”, if elected president.
W. TRAILER
Check out the trailer for Oliver Stone’s upcoming film on how President Bush went “from an alcoholic bum to the most powerful figure in the world”.
Scheduled for a limited release on October 17, the film chronicles the life and presidency of George W. Bush and stars Josh Brolin as the president, Thandie Newton as Condoleezza Rice and Jeffrey Wright as Gen. Colin Powell.

FIRST!!!!! Well Obama should continue to follow his game plan. Hillary would only dictate him if he allows her to be VP. OBAMA ’08!!!!!!!!!!!!
how the heck did a alcoholic become president of the u.s. thats so sad Mc cian is lying the troops would propberly stay in iraq if he becomes president
Mc Cain SUCKS!!!
W. looks like a comedy. Or a tragedy. One or the other, maybe both.
I can’t wait to see who Obama picks! Whoever it is, I’m sure he’ll make the right choice.
Look at McCain back-peddling. How you go from 100 years to 16 months?? OBAMA 08!
Obama won’t pick Hillary because she would overshadow him and it would be obvious who was the better candidate. Obama’s people hve already said they dont want her on the ticket so they will lose in november and i will laugh at the outraged people about it.
OBAMA!! Canada will appreciate you more than the US!! lol
we’ll change the national anthem too for u!! “O BAMADA”
I am impatiently awaiting Obama’s decision for his running mate.
I’m sure its not Billary.
Keep supporting Barack Obama all the way to the White House. Everyone must turn out in November and vote, if you are not registered do so NOW!!!!!!!!!!!
I don’t know who he’ll pick, but if Obama loses that is America’s loss. We would rather face economic destruction than to elect a qualified black man. I pray that he does not pick Hillary, I’m tired of unqualified women who are trying to scream sexism taking thunder from blacks.
Obama Needs To Go Ahead And Choose Hilary… It Doesn’t Make Any Sense To Choose Someone ” Who’s Not Associated With Washington” That Like Experince V.s. Experiment I’d Choose The Experience!!
mccain is such a moron….pls donate to Obama’s campaign:
donate.barackobama.com/
ps: his birthday is coming up…
Movie sounds interesting.. I’m also interested to see who Obama picks for his VP. Screw McCain..
Hillary Clinton expecting Barack Obama to include her on his Presidential Ticket as a running mate is comparable to bashing the host of an upcoming diner party by saying how nasty the food will be and expecting to be invited to the gathering afterward!
After all of the bad talk and race baiting that Hillary gave Barack, why the hell should he consider her back stabbing self serving ass at all?
I wouldn’t trust her within two states of me with her Bosnia shoot-out delusional self!
Every chance she would have to upstage or sabotage him she would savor!
And as vice-president an assasination attempt on Barack Obama’s life wouldn’t make her lose any sleep, for she would finally become president after all!
Sick thought?
Don’t you trust these illuminatti crackers one bit………….

“Amerikkka’s Most Outspoken Artist”
Obama needs to be smart and just pick Tim Kaine who will automatically get him the state of VA cause people in VA love KAine or Biden. Hillary is losing her mojo so he doesn’t need to feel forced to keep her around plus she has her own agenda and could care less about Obama’s.
If people pick McCain they are slow unless they love being close to a recession and love seeing their loved ones go fight. The only people that are truly voting for him are people who love their military benefits and never have to see their loved ones go over there. Let them go and come back in a body bag and I bet their minds will change. not wishing death on nobody, but why vote for a man that said the war will go on for years if he wants it to. Haven’t we been there long enough?
My questio for the movie about Bush…will it reveal any truth or will it just talk about his sugar coated highlights?
Please don’t choose Hilary, I be screaming the entire time as I cast my
. WHY??????? LORD WHY??????? He be better off getting another woman, from
where ever I don’t care!! Not that I didn’t use to love me some Billary, but damn
after the Primary, she has to wait for another turn. Is she even 60, yet? She can
run 2016, she’ll still be in her 60′s I think!!
W, is going show how screwed up this little fellow trully was and is!!!!!!!
McCain is a hawt mess….first he talks about Obama for setting a time table and then he turns around and agrees with exactly what Obama has been saying all along…McCain needs to take his zombie looking butt to a retirement home somewhere and call it a day.
And there is no way in hell I would go to see W. I think I’ve had to look at Bush’s face enough on TV these past 8 years…the last thing I want is to see his look a like plastered 2 stories high on a movie screen.
Good for you Obama keep this hell-a-ree chick far far away from you and your camp!

thandie newton as condi rice? yeah,,, thats a match : (
Obama will not win without Clinton on his ticket. Unfortunately, he probably will listen to someone who will tell him that he doesn’t need her on the ticket to win in November. This is just not true. Clinton showed a lot of class by going on the campaign trail with Obama, telling her former supporters to vote for him in November. Not choosing her will not sit well with many voters, not to mention her 18 million supporters. It doesn’t make sense to choose a running mate that the majority of voters don’t know. Without Clinton, Obama’s dream of making history will end at the nomination. I predict McCain will win in 2008. Clinton will run again and win in 2012 with Deval Patrick as her VP. They will both make history in 2012.
I like Clinton – although I would prefer to see an Obama-Edwards ticket. Polls, however, have shown that an Obama ticket has a much better edge over McCain when Clinton is on it. (Although the polls I have seen compare the Obama-Clinton ticket to a McCain-Romeny ticket…too many variables at play to be decisive..).
Before these polls, however, back in May, Dr. Tantillo (‘the marketing doctor’), who has a blog on branding ( http://blog.marketingdoctor.tv ) did a post arguing against the idea of an Obama-Clinton ticket–positing that from a branding perspective, it makes no sense, and actually wouldn’t be a good move for Clinton’s brand, either.
“Because of the length of this primary fight, brand identity and loyalty to brand have become central. What this means is that a kind of brand mutual exclusivity has set in.”
Not sure if I agree or if this idea still holds at this point, but it is a compelling argument – (and one that I at least think goes a long way toward explaining Obama’s hesitation to choose Clinton as his running mate.)
