Im infuriated for you Barack! When will the day come that America can take a black woman with a good head on her shoulders? Though its important to know how the First Lady will act, hold up and support the President especially she is still a civilian and attacking her like she is running for president is for lack of a better word trife. I love this man’s reverence for his wife! The attacks against her ARE racially motivated. They won’t admit it but that image of her on the magazine has her appearing like she’s Angela Davis, like this angry, black power black woman. Is there a black women’s group that we can get to rally to her defense and the defense of negative images of black women in the media? Hillary Clinton should feel compelled to sing the praises of Michelle because I have heard Michelle sing her praises stating that she has opened doors tha could benefit her own daughters. As Obama said, his wife is the true meaning of American, she had 2 obstacles( race and gender) to overcome and all the while being a wonderful wife and mother! She is such an inspiration.

Michelle and Barack are an example of what every American family should be both black and white. Educated, strong, loving, and innovative. They represent diversity, american values,, and appear to be good honest people. Which is why they are hated, and the stupid media will use all sorts of fabrication to bring them down. As a non resident of America watching this campaign and one who plans on persuing my second degree in America I think that am just now realizing just how racist America really is. The fact of the matter is that black people will always have to prove our selves to white people, even when they are intelligent and articulate as the Obama’s. It is shocking to white up tight America that there actually exist black intelligent women like Michele Obama, who is not in a video shaking her ass. The same goes for Obama it is freightening to them that there exist black men who stand for something and take care of their children and not just walking around with grills in their mouth and calling young women “bitches and Hos”.

As such they are not quite sure how to deal with this and they will have to resort to smear tacticts like putting her on a magazine cover with jerry curls hair all wrapped up in bullets like any common hoodlum. As for that representation of Obama, it would be ridiculous to show him dressed like a common thug so why not make him the gun totting Muslim. And thats why I for one have always said that Black people all around the world must recognize the sort of control we have in terms of how the white world can conceive us.

And people like Mugabe and Jesse Jackson are not helping our case, especially for us who belong to the new generation fighting a more subtle but just a dangerous form of racism. We need to let people like Fox News and all those white racists understand as black people we are not one dimensional like the used to think back in slavery. Our fore parents fought for our freedom so that we too can become president of the USA. There is more to us than shaking asses and driving around committing drive bys. We are a people of great intellect and a whole lot to offer. And like Obama it frustrate me that they would resort to attcking his wife.

But its like Toni Morrison once said to be a black woman in America means that u have two strikes against you. 1. you are black and 2. your woman. I hate the fact that these white republicans will go as far as to attack Michele when she as done nothing but be nice and be a supportive husband and mother whilst manning her career and life. Is that not what modern women are doing and doing proudly, taking care of her family and her husband. And as such all women, black, white, puerto rican, those in between or on the fringes should call out the republicans and the media on this level of blatant sexism.

It’s not that the media hates to see a strong black woman, because there are alot of them out there. Obama’s wife is unpopular because she talks without thinking consantly. It infuriates me as well, the way the right-wing racists and bigots have tried to characterize Michelle. I hate to say this, but I wish that Barack and the Democratic party didn’t take the “high road” when it comes to Cindy McCain, because there’s a lot of material to work with, if you get my drift. Just do a search on the ‘net and you’ll find plenty on her that mainstream media will NEVER cover the way they’ve ridiculed Michelle. The only reason why I would want them to start focusing on her is because she’s made snide remarks more than once in reference to Michelle’s comment about being proud of America. You know what they say about karma.

I applaud Barack for doing what he has to do to keep his family from constantly being under intense scrutiny. It’s true that Michelle Obama’s comment about it being hte first time in her life that she was proud to be an American was something that she could of thought about a bit more before she said it, but at the same time, it doesn’t warrant the fact that the media finds a way to put her in a negative light much more so that Cindy McCain. There was an anchorperson on Fox news referring to her as “Barack’s baby mama”, the New York Post cover this past week, and others referring to her as angry, too outspoken and unpatriotic. The general media would never step to Cindy McCain that way. It takes so much strength to be in the spotlight, especially when you feel that you are doing it for a good cause. You are truly misguided. The media knew EXACTLY what they were doing with Michelle. They wanted to find a way to stereotype the Obamas and they thought they’d found it with Michelle’s statement. Even the current First Lady, Laura Bush, spoke out and said that she didn’t believe that Michelle meant that she’s never been proud of her country. And the GOP deliberately took out certain words from Michelle’s statement to make it look negative when it wasn’t. You know why Cindy McCain doesn’t speak? It’s because, unlike Michelle Obama, there’s a whole lot of dirt on Cindy, and she knows it, and she doesn’t want to become a target the way they’ve targeted Michelle. For one thing, Cindy McCain was having an affair with John McCain when he was married to his first wife, who became permanently injured in a car accident. He left his wife and children for Cindy McCain, the younger, rich heiress. There’s more, but you’re more than welcome to do a search on the ‘net about Mrs. McCain.

But even if Cindy McCain was outspoken just like Michelle, they wouldn’t treat Cindy the same way, because she looks more like a “traditional First Lady” than Michelle does. The problem that some White people have in this country with the Obamas is that as individuals, as a couple and as a family, they don’t conveniently fit into any of the negative stereotypes that exist about Black people. So they took one statement from Michelle, took out some of the words, and then portrayed her with a characterization that people more often associate with Black women: Michelle became the “angry Black woman”.

Look, what else does Faux News have on Obama? It’s typical of them, and trust and believe, it’s only going to get worse the closer to November we get (*sigh*). We have to keep focused on the issues and tell Faux News to “get behind us Satan,” b/c Obama is moving on to the White House!

Why should he kiss up to Fox News when they’ve been nothing but disrespectful to he and his wife? I wouldn’t. And he DOES do interviews with networks like CNN and MSNBC, not just “softball” media. If a publication like Rolling Stone or Glamour asks to do an interview with him or Michelle, why not? They’ve been smeared throughout this entire campaign, some people even think Barack is the anti-Christ for goodness sake. If there’s an opportunity to let people know that you’re not the evil person that people are portraying you to be, then I say go for it.
