POLITICS: OBAMA STEADY CAMPAIGNING / OBAMA DENOUNCES LUDA’S LYRICS / MCCAIN COMPARES OBAMA TO BRITNEY SPEARS

Thursday, July 31, 2008

redneck.jpg

Democratic presidential candidate, Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., walks to greet two supporters holding a banner that says “Rednecks for Obama” at a campaign stop in Union, Missouri, Wednesday, July 30.

OBAMA DENOUNCES LUDA’S LYRICS

Ludacris, a strong supporter of Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama, has released a new song titled “Politics: Obama Is Here”.

However, Obama, who once said he had Ludacris in heavy rotation on his iPod, is not too happy with him. The song praises Obama, but bitterly attacks Sens. Hillary Rodham Clinton and John McCain. “Hillary hated on you, so that bitch is irrelevant,” say the lyrics. “McCain don’t belong in any chair unless he’s paralyzed.” Luda calls on voters to “paint the White House black” and adds that “Bush is mentally handicapped.”

The Obama campaign issued the following statement:

“As Barack Obama has said many, many times in the past, rap lyrics today too often perpetuate misogyny, materialism, and degrading images that he doesn’t want his daughters or any children exposed to. This song is not only outrageously offensive to Senator Clinton, Reverend Jackson, Senator McCain, and President Bush, it is offensive to all of us who are trying to raise our children with the values we hold dear. While Ludacris is a talented individual he should be ashamed of these lyrics.”

MCCAIN COMPARES OBAMA TO BRITNEY SPEARS

McCain’s presidential campaign on Wednesday released a television ad comparing Obama to Britney Spears and Paris Hilton, suggesting the Democratic contender is little more than a vapid but widely recognized media concoction.

Obama’s campaign quickly responded with a commercial of its own, showing images of the Arizona senator with President George W. Bush and accusing the 71-year-old McCain of practicing “the politics of the past.”

McCain’s ad, titled “Celeb” and set to air in 11 battleground states, inter cuts images of Obama on his trip abroad last week with video of twenty-something pop stars Spears and Hilton _ both better known for their childish off-screen antics.

“He’s the biggest celebrity in the world, but is he ready to lead?” the voiceover asks, noting the Illinois senator’s opposition to offshore oil drilling and suggesting he would raise taxes if elected.

While campaigning in Missouri (photo above), Obama said the ad was the latest example of McCain’s negativity, a theme his campaign has tried to stress lately.

“He doesn’t seem to have anything positive to say about me, does he?” Obama said. “You need to ask John McCain what he’s for, not just what he’s against.”

Also, I love Luda, but I think celebs have to be careful what messages are put out pertaining to supporting Obama. Too many people are looking for anything possible to negatively attach to him. If not careful, celebs can unintnetionally harm the campaign.

(1) Alls fair in love, war and politics.

(2) Luda can say whatever he wants because that’s his song and his feelings! IMO, that does nothing to Obama’s character or what he stands for. Just another way to supress black people.

Steve Harvey said it right on his show this morning:

These celebrities need to be careful about how they show there support for Sen. Obama because no matter what their intentions were, the media will take a 20 second soundbite and blow it out of proportion in order to get Sen. Obama to apologize for it and denounce it. The media is always try to run game on us, and we as a community need to be a little bit smarter than that.

*Obama 08* ya’ll. ‘Cause I’m tired of having presidents that are stuck on stupid.

………..honestly been more tactful ya know.

………..McCain…Boy Boo! All you have is trying to make Obama seem like a

Ludacris should’ve known better! This is another case of keeping it real gone out of control! Everybody and their momma know they are trying to play guilt by association with Obama, so why would Ludacris release a track like that just to become a distraction? I think McCain needs to stop whine about how he’s not getting the same attention Obama is getting. Has he ever stop to think that he is not doing it for most voters any more. No comment on Ludacris :-z!

I cannot believe McCain has stooped so low! That sad thing for him is that he has now probably eliminated more of the small youth following (HE DIDN’T HAVE) and still hasn’t gained the support of the conservative Republicans (who aren’t exactly lining the streets to vote for him). His attempt comes off like the arroganance and ignorance of George Bush.

Concerning this Ludacris fiasco: Obama took a risk by mentioning that he listened to rap music himself, more so by mentioning a particular artist. Ludacris took a step too far…

NOW LUDA KNOWS BETTER THAN THAT….SEEKING A BIT OF ATTENTION LUDA, NO MATTER AT WHAT COST? THIS IS OBVIOUS ATTEMPT TO GAIN CONTROVERSY…HE KNEW OBAMA COULDN’T STAND BEHIND HIM AND BACK HIM UP IN CALLIN ANY WOMAN A BITCH…I JUST LOST A LITTLE RESPECT FOR LUDA ON THIS ONE…SHOW SOME CLASS. DOES OBAMA LOOK LIKE THE TYPE OF MAN WHO GOES AROUND CALLIN WOMEN BITCHES? DON’T GET ME WRONG, I’M ALMOST POSITIVE HE WAS THINKING HILARY WAS ALL TYPE OF BITCHES WITH THE CRAP SHE PULLED DURING THE PRELIMINARY NOMINATIONS, AND NO DOUBT DURING THE DEBATES, BUT THE MAN GOT CLASS, AND HE WOULD PROBABLY NEVER VOICE IT. LUDA TAKE NOTES, YOU DON’T HAVE TO BE CRASS AND DISRESPECTFUL TO BE CONSIDERED A STRONG BROTHA.

MCCAIN IS AN IDIOT, AND I THINK HE’LL DO ANYTHING TO GET THE CAMERA’S TO SWING IN HIS DIRECTION….PATHETIC IS TOO NICE A WORD FOR HIS ANTICS.

Steve Harvey’s statement was correct, people who support Obama need to be more mindful of what they say publicly. The media is tougher on Obama whenever there’s a negative story to report, while McCain’s many gaffes don’t get nearly as much coverage.

I’m pretty disappointed with Ludacris because I think he’s talented and clever enough to come up with a record that could have shown his support for Obama and encouraged young people to vote, without being disrespectful to anyone for the sake of controversy. Will I Am’s video “Yes We Can” received a lot of attention but it was uplifting, why couldn’t Luda do the same thing?

Thursday, July 31, 2008 /

Wow that is crazy. Luda and the rest of these people need to just let the man get into the house, they are doing more harm then good. CRAZINESS, do you know he needs white women and the working class whites to win. Having “blacks” like this only makes the idea of placing a black man in the white house more daunting for the undecided “other” voter.

McCain’s adds are a joke and he needs to fire some people over this. Most of the people the ad targets dont give two shits about Brittany and Paris. The age group that does wants Obama anyway. As for Obama’s response, only a true statesman responds with such honor and grace.

Funny things is if Obama was fully white, based on the lackluster b.s. campaign McCain is running he would have the white house wrapped up, but because he is part black its still in the air who will be our president. Sad that the only person Obama is really in this race with is himself but he can overcome all that because his color (not race) does not limit his abilty nor should it be anyone’s reason for not electing him and if it is they deserve the idiot (aka McCain). (i.e see the statements of good ol’s G Dubb in the Washington Post the last few weeks regarding Iraq and the housing crisis, where are those voters now oh yeah preparing to move to the streets because they elected an idiot).

Obama 08, yes we can, yes we will.

Ludacris has every right to say what he wants in his lyrics, but you cant disrespect other people in the song and expect Obama to support that. Thats not what he is about and thats not what he stands for.

As far as Mccain: He is just a bitter old man who is upset that nobody is chanting his name or that crowds in the thousands arent gathering for him.

I’m sure that many white people are laughing right now at us, as a race. First Sen. Obama’s pastor, then Rev. Jackson, and now Luda. When will we as Black Americans learn to handle ourselves with style and grace instead of allowing ourselves to succumb to the negativity that White America enjoys seeing so much? They split us up by selling, raping, and killing our ancestors, and now in our finest hour they’ve managed to succeed again. For some reason it doesn’t bother me that Sen. McCain’s campaign is based on slanderous and outrageous remarks, but it hurts when people of my own race are accomplices in the assassination of black unity. We’ve come from being imported goods to important people. Please let’s respect ourselves and our race.

all i want to know is WHY; luda, nas, all the rest of you folks who want to give people like fox and rush limpbraugh a reason to say see i told you so. with nas i can-not understand the correlation of him trotting his ass down to fox news w/ a petition claiming fox is racist. and this same person wanted to come w/ an album called ni33er. then you have THE VIEWS sherrie shepard on nation wide TV talking about blacks using the N-WORD as a term of endearment. there are a lot of civil rights people, dead and in their graves who gave their lives that you could have your ass on the view would beg to differ ms. shepard. term of endearment , you got to be kidding. people who use the N-WORD to me has a low mentality and i question your intellect==== white folks don’t even use that word as blantantly as blacks use it. BLACK FOLKS YOU ARE YOUR OWN WORSE ENEMY. and if you don’t step it up to another level, i’ll chalk it up to a race and this generation lost. because this crap is getting PATHETIC. NOW LAST BUT NOT LEAST —— LUDA had to know them race hat’n folks was going to take that song and run w/ it, WHAT IN THE HELL were you thinking? black folks we are just falling for the republican race baiting ROPE=A=DOPE. now folks who feel they must step out on the race issues are going to be the ones who derail baracks presidental bid. seem like the more i try to get this point across, the more ignorant ya get. its makig me crazy. seems like my fire ant theory is correct. you folks is all over the place. instead of laying back and not diginfying every race baited trap that these jackals throw your way you chose to bite at the bait. CAN’T YA SEE THOUGH THIS TRAP? BARACK is getting it from both sides in the white folks corner. ‘he can’t do nothing right’. now here in the black folks corner who can’t seem to see and can’t wait to get on TV or media to put a race topic of division on BLAST. you need to stop. you can’t make this stuff up. black folks i’am begging you take a chill pill please.

ffoLuda was definately wrong in so many ways! He is phony because he could have done a positive rap for Obama…similar to what was done with Mary J blige. …on the Runaway song. i remember in his acceptance speech how he talk about putting a positive spin on rap lyrics and doing something for the community. Now he comes out with this negative crap that hurts Obama. It makes him have to explain, yet again, that he does not endorse this foolishness! Luda really is getting too old for this tytype of rap…even if he wants to call it entertainment. how would he feel if someone called his mother the B word. Well Hillary is someone’s mother, and the girl has probably heard the song or at best heard about it, by now. He owes her an apology. If not, he is not a gentleman. This is the wrong kind of entertainment…and i hope America responds by not buying his or his lable’s cd’s. How irresponsible of him!

It is disrespectable to call women bitchess and white people won’t say anything when they assume that they are talking about us women of color, but, now he is about to find out that are actually races out here that respect there women. 1 the only reason you never hear anything good or what McCain stands for is because the Media has Obama fever. Can anyone point out a post on concreteloop stating any stance for McCain. Read up on his policy and you might be surprised at how one-sided some media really is.

two: If Obama has a problem with what luda said the he must like NaZ, Jay-Z, Betounce’, Richard Pryor, Ti, diddy, pretty much everyone that is supporting him. Obama will have to learn that he cannot be accountable for everything that everyone says “supposedly” in support of him. It’s a trap bag, that he needs to stay away from.

And as for all of these Obama “supporters”… . Just hush - and show your support with a vote.

Did anyone bother reporting that the so called American government apologized yesterday for Slavery to Black America? This is the reason why must turn off the got damn t.v.’s and stopped listening/boycott major television networks…..this was supposed to be a significant time for our people, which has been over clouted by biased racist media attempts to consort Obama as an “uptty negro”, thanks to Jessie Jackson, and people like Luda, (who honestly need to sit his azz down, why isn’t anyone writing something positive in the rap game about aspiring to be someone like Barrack, thus, “their son’s” have a chance and being something great other than chasing “hoes”, cars and diamonds/rocks?

We all need to stop watching main stream media and news. I only watched “Black in America”, because of Soledad O’Brian’s brilliant efforts, thus, I had started getting a soft spot again for CNN, until the last Sunday airing of “Black in America”, CNN again was on the Right Wing Nut Sack of criticizing Obama again, for being to “Presumptive”,”too arrogant”…..at a time when everything in this media is solely driven on Right Wing/Old Clinton “Gotcha” sound byte/racist tactics, I’ve resorted to listening to talk radio….AIR AMERICA (.COM), Jones Radio Network and Randi Rhodes show on the Nova M radio network(Usually these are found on your AM dial),Huffingtonpost.com, BBC World News, NPR,Bill Mahr( HBO) Jonathan Stewart and oh….Keith Oberman (is the only one I watch on cable/t.v.)…..The rest of the media is sold and brought by the Right Wing machine. Until the Fairness Doctrine is actually repealed, and 90% of the media is broken down to reflect more progressive media reporting, I am not going to buy into the media hype anymore!!!!

We honestly need to start boycotting the media/CNN/ WHAT THE FAUX (FOX) NEWS NETWORKS/MSNBC and NY Times, and other journalism forms of media, until we can get part of “Fairness” in the Fairness Doctrine restored!!!

Please my people, check out the other media sources and then turn off the idiot boxes until the elections are over!!!!

I AM NO LONGER A LUDACRIS FAN. He is way out of line. There was no need for him to say those things. And people need start realizing that they shouldn’t just vote for Obama because he is black. First off he is mixed, second what about his qualifications. I am definately against McCain. Hilary was my vote. Ya’ll know damn well she ran this country when Billl was in office. Turn the White House into the Black House?!?!? He couldn’t come up with anything better than that? He should have pointed out the qualities about Obama instead of just pointing out that he is black. Very tacky. Luda, you should be ashamed!

Well considering most of us who voted for Obama hype 2008 have recited controversial lyrics at one time or another aren’t we hypocrites to criticize luda for spitting what his heart told him to spit? Shame on Obama for going out of his way to denounce lyrics…shouldn’t you be more worried about how to get us back from the brink of no longer being a super power instead? I mean come on folks we are all grown here..yeah it’s luda putting his foot in his mouth but can you blame the man…can you seriously say that at one point in your life you didn’t get so angry at the world that you said something you otherwise wouldn’t? I know…I know…we have to be peachy and happy all the time..well that’s not the world some people live in. It’s about damn time someone had the gall to spit something genuine that they feel..when was the last time an artist took a stance for what he really believed in? I guess we want more videos for obama singing and praising him instead..well the truth is the world as we know still is at war…your gas price still isn’t going down…people are still defaulting on mortgages…we are in the early stages of a recession and this is what makes news. I like hillary as a candidate, i like obama as a candidate, mc cain can go sit somewhere…but the truth of the matter is neither is going to put much change in your pocket. So while we congratulate Obama on his success the truth is tomorrow there is still a war and a bad economy. We will go through Obama for perhaps four to eight years, and another president for another four to eight years before we get back to where we were eight years ago and making progress.
