REST IN PEACE DJ K-SWIFT

Sad news out of Baltimore today. Popular DJ Khia “K-Swift” Edgerton died on Monday.

The body of 29-year-old Khia Edgerton, also known as “K-Swift” was found Monday morning at her northeast Baltimore home.

They say K-Swift was giving a pool party at her home earlier in the day. She had been drinking extensively before getting into the pool. Witnesses told police there were several people in the pool when Edgerton jumped in, but none of the swimmers were alarmed when she didn’t immediately resurface. There were also lifeguards present.

After time had passed and she still didn’t surface, they got alarmed and jumped in. They were able to pull her out to the side of the pool. Medics were called but no one at the party attempted CPR while they were waiting. When medics got there, they attempted CPR to no avail. She was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

She broke ground as a female DJ on 92 Q Jams and rose to female mix show coordinator. She is one of the only women in the country to hold the title. Her death is being investigated by Baltimore City police as a suspicious death. [SOURCE]

Concrete Loop sends our condolences to her family and friends.

*****R.I.P. she was so young around the same age as me……. people enjoy your *********lives. She seemed to have reachedher goals as a DJ. My prayers to her ********family.

  5. Jscene

Something stinks to high heaven…you mean nobody tried to help her. How do you not notice the host of the party missing? No one knew CPR? I dont blame the medical examiners, this does sound suspicious.

I never heard of her, but i pray that her family can weather this trial.

  6. NUDARKAQUA

DAMN NO ONE KNEW CPR…DAMN SHAME

I can never understand why people don’t do anything when waiting for help. A couple of years back at A&T a student was playing an intramural basketball game when he collapsed. I guess he was just laying there until about 10 minutes later someone came out the stands to perform CPR. Dude ended up dying.

    RIP to the young lady.

Don’t be scared to help a person in need!!!!!!

  9. Jayla James

Sorry to hear about that. She was a beautiful lady. My prayers go out to her family

  10. upstateny

    Condolences to her family…….

    NO ONE even TRIED CPR?!?!
in order to be a certified lifeguard you have to take a CPR course, so I don’t know if they were certified or anything but this doesn’t make any sense…CPR could’ve saved her life…..

    RIP K-Swift

  11. Tonia

How unfortunate that this would happen. I certainlt hope for the family’s sake that this is fully investigated. I work at a pool during the summer and I find it strange that although lifeguards were present, NO ONE performed CPR??? You have to have CPR training just to hold the title “lifeguard”.

  12. india617

How in the HELL is it no one made an attempt to perform cpr. That is sooo messed up. May she rest in peace

  13. ★☆KINGRON★☆

  14. Landie

I’m from B-more and we are all in sorrow over this sudden freak accident. You had to know Swift to know how cool this chick was… even with her popalarity status she was still grounded and you could walk up to her at anytime and she would give you nothing but love. Sometimes the good die young and she surely was apart of the good. Just for the record, she was not drinking heavy… there was alcohol their and she did have some but she never got waisted as some reports are reporting…. she hit her head on the diving board which cause the trauma!!!!! This was just one of those freak accidents and WE WILL MISS OUR PRINCESS OF B-MORE!!! SHE REP B-MORE LIKE NO OTHER… R.I.P SWIFT!!!!!!!!!

  15. chandra

This is crazy, I hope her family gets this invetigated, she was a pretty young lady, I hope she rests in peace.

  16. Dang this is SAD. I was just down there.
In tragic incidents like this sometimes we are so worked up that we forget to do things that could save a life. Coming from someone in the medical field not only will they have to morn her death, but the coulda, woulda, shoulda’s if they performed CPR.

sAD, R.I.P. Dj K-swift. She was a beautiful person.

  17. tiara

  20. O.NE

—R.I.P to the young lady. It’s a shame that nobody did any thing, So what was the purpose of the life guards if they were just scratching their heads.

  21. MW09

Rest in Peace DJ K-Swift……It’s so sad that no one helped her until it was to late……

  22. SexyGaPeachInCali

This is really sad. My heart goes out to her fam

  23. WTF?! Its a DAMN SHAME to know that K-swift had Lifeguards present and NO 1 PERFORMED CPR. Thats suppose to be a requriement for them to even have certificate. and copmany at her pool party r no damn better either!

    SUCH A SHAME R.I.P

  24. In my world, lifeguards are certified in CPR. Thats like being a medic and not know how to drive the ambulance! I am sadden by the family’s loss and will keep them in my prayers.

  25. BRIANA

this is extremely sad, but let this be a lesson to everyone, especially those that party excessively. Rest in peace!

  26. Jasmine

OH MY GOSH! This is so sad. I had no idea. I’ll definitely be praying for her friends and family. This was so sudden and she was so personable.

  27. Veruca Salt

Well I’m sorry that I never heard of her. She sound like a true ground breaker.

    *Moment of Silence*

How in the !@#&# lifeguards stand around and NOT perform CP *bleeping* R???

Oh sombedoy gots a lot of explaining to do. I don’t mean to bring up race in this fraggle-knacking bull but doesn’t it seem like there’s always some BS behind it when our young brothers and sisters die? Either nobody wants to snitch, or nobody is smart enough or trained properly to do the right thing. HOWEVER we can do all the latest dance moves and sang the craziest crap when need be.

    *SMFH*

  28. Don’t know who she is but my prayers are with the family.. this is really sad :(

  29. Everyone keeps saying no one did CPR! Easier said then Done. In no way do I mean any disrespect.
I work in the Medical field and I can say there was a time I stopped to help a lady laying on the ground right outside my hospital. Several ppl just walked right over her her body. So furiated I ran to this ladies side. I got no response. The first thing I am trained to do is do CPR than call for help, continue CPR until Medics come. I felt for a pulse, none. I tried the carotid still no pulse, as I was doing that she took her last breathe. I was so devastated as if I should’ve done more. So unfortunately her friends or family will be traumatized forever. Just saying this to say until u are in those shoes it’s EASIER SAID THEN DONE!

  30. Something isn’t right about this. It’s a shame that with all those people at the party something like this could go unnoticed and no one performed CPR either?! This is a suspicious death.

R.I.P. to DJ K-Swift and my deepest sympathy to her family and friends.

  31. silly_rabbit

That’s really sad…I go to Howard and I occasionally listen to 92.3 when I’m in MD and her name sounds familiar. RIP K-Swift, it’s a shame to lose you so tragically.

  32. Choco

Yeah I can’t really blame anyone for not attempting CPR although I wish there was someone there to perform it. I wouldn’t know how to do it and I took a class (years ago)…I’m certain everyone is devastated by the happenings surrounding her pool party. Often times if you move a person it could make matters worse.

I truly feel for all that knew her and those who watched her pass yesterday. I only wish things could’ve turned out differently for the attractive, talented, young lady.

  33. DIAMONDS & GIRLS

    WOW! R.I.P.

  35. Desirae

May her soul Rest In Peace… I only heard of her from the show, The Wire but, thats really messed up man!

  36. Have Not Thought of a New User Name

I never heard of her, but I will keep her family in my prayers.

I seriously hope no one let those “lifeguards” be certified without knowing how to preform CPR smh.

  37. futchawyfe

It’s baffling how people wouldn’t be alarmed when someone who’s obviously intoxicated jumps in a pool and doesn’t come up for air. Evenmore, why would lifeguards and family/friends stand around her limp body and not instictively try to save her by performing CPR or something. This is tragic. I didn’t know who she was, but may her soul rest in peace.

Condolences to her family and real friends,

    Peace

  38. india

i think somebody planned that and i wont think otherwise because somebody knew and somebody planned that i don’t care what anyone says!

  39. STLCHICK

  47. KIDDO

    Wow, she was beautiful, RIP.

  48. Swift definitely repped it for B-More and the ladies. She was just so talented and gifted and loved by so many and so young to go out like this. If you had ever heard of club music, then you definitely knew her name. And if you ever got the chance to meet her, she was so humble and down to earth and approachable. There will never be another like her. Without a doubt she has the heavens rockin’ right now to B-More’s club music!!!!

    R.I.P Club Queen K-Swift

  53. ThinkAboutIt

A terrible tragedy – Condolesences to her family and friends. May they find comfort in the love and memories they have of her.

Accidents do happen – but I am not understanding why lifeguards would not have tried to administer CPR.

    Rest in Paradise young sister.

  54. ….just like drinking and driving dont mix …neither does drinking and swimming R.I.P.

  55. lewis

I never post, but I went to college in Bmore and cam in contact with Swift a number of times. Alwasy proud to see a female do her thing. Espeacially in a male dominate feild. My hear and prayers go out to her mother, 92Q and Unruly families.

  56. Nell

The full story is on http://www.wbaltv.com as well as a picture of the pool. There was not a diving board connected to her pool. she jumped in the pool which is only 5 feet and she hit her head and then broke her neck. Someone pulled her out after a while of noticing she did not come up after jumping in and they laid her on the side of the pool and called 911. Noone tried to perform CPR or anything else….

  57. NeedWisdmDaily
