Wow! We heard that Akon was producing a bit on Michael Jackson’s new album, but it seems as though he is on the debut single for Akon’s new album, Acquitted. I’m sorry, this is craziness, hearing Michael Jackson’s voice on some new music! I’m not an Akon fan, but this could very well make me one. Their voices harmonize very well together – this single is going to be really huge for Akon, and if this is any prelude to what Michael’s material is going to sound like, MJ fans are in for a treat.

Newly signed DTP artist Jarvis, who we recently did a hot or not post on, has released a new song, titled “Privacy.” His project, Dream Girls is set to drop this summer, with the lead single, “Pretty Girl.” I thought this song was going to catch me a little deeper in, but it failed to progress. I thought the production was going to become a little more elaborate, at least, considering that lyrically and melodically, the song didn’t do much for me.
UPDATE: We have been informed that this was just a demo for Jarvis and this is not actually him singing on the track, and it’s actually incomplete.

Said to be the new single from Lil’ Wayne’s album, The Carter III, here is “Mrs. Officer,” which is a very radio-friendly song for the ladies. I love the mellow production as well as the catchy hook and concept of the song. Lil’ Wayne is definitely doing his thing and solidifying himself within the industry, just selling over a million records his first week out. Can’t knock the hustle!

Here’s a new song from Fantasia, that some are under the impression is new material, but Angel and I think it’s a recording from her past album. The new song, “Broke,” has actually been heard before, production-wise, on Nicole Wray’s “I’ll Take Your Man” (which I believed was produced by Rich Harrison, but it has now been confirmed to be produced by Midi Mafia). I actually like this song a lot.
I skip the HELL outta that Lil Wayne Bobby V song every time I listen to the cd. I hate it, its garbage. It doesnt fit the rest of the album at all.
MJ and Akon sound alike lol.

I heard Fantasia’s song two years ago when her last album came out. It was one of two unreleased tracks that were floating around a week after the album came out. So Fantasia’s song cannot be new!

The first couple of minutes of Jarvis’ had me, and then I got lost well into the song. I know what you meant Brian. They could’ve made that song hot had they done more with the production. But it leveled off and didn’t go anywhere. They need to go back to the studio and add some more to the song, which I’m sure they will after reading these posts.
