Check out this snippet of Keri Hilson’s “Return the Favor,” which was originally supposed to be the first single from her debut album, In A Perfect World…, which is set to hit stores on September 23rd. I think that they didn’t go with this song because it’s similarities to “The Way I Are,” but I love the song all the same. I’m really excited about Keri’s album. She just shot the video for her first single, “Energy” in LA. It was directed by Melina.

Here’s some new music from one of my favorite R&B crooners in the game, Joe. “Beautiful” is apparently some new material from his upcoming project. I actually was a huge fan of his last album, Ain’t Nothin’ Like Me, which didn’t really perform well from what I remember. “Beautiful” is a cool track though. I think Joe just needs more of a push from his label in order to get his project out there.

I believe “One Step At A Time” is Jordin Sparks’s third single from her album, which has been doing really well since the release of the Chris Brown duet, “No Air.” Jordin has been looking stellar recently as well. This is the official remix for the new single, produced by Kwame.

Many have been calling new artist and Def Jam signee Karina Pasian a child prodigy. Not only does she have a beautiful voice, plays piano, and now she’s creating even more of a case by singing in differently languages! I cannot deny it – she has an absolutely beautiful voice. Karina’s debut album, First Love is set to drop August 19th, and she just dropped her second single, “Can’t Find the Words,” and it was the single of the week on iTunes.

umm brian you need to start being more critical in your reviews. i don’t get a sense for the song by your review. you can like someone or like a song and still critique it. if the song needs work, be real about it and all of these songs need work. none of them are hits
keri hilson is starting to sound boring to me. pretty voice but i have yet to be wowed

jordan’s remix ruins the song. the only positive thing about the song was its beat and she took that away. good job jordan
karina -she can play the piano well but as i stated before, ppl just throw around the word prodigy. let’s be real, she’s not the only female artist who can play the piano and sing (umm alicia,sarah mclachlin, jewel, brooke fraser, etc.) a prodigy is someone like aretha, prodigies are hard to come by. she has talent though
and timb is a talented producer who sometimes has moments of genius. right no (like right right now) he’s fallen off a bit but some of the songs from his last album were pretty chill. i’m still mad he gets credit for ‘apologize” when all he did was add extra drums/beats. the melody, lyrics, and all were already there before him
Wow, the opinions are strong today on this post. The Keri song, cool song and nice beat but I agree that Tim’s production is becoming tired. It’s hot but getting old. I also thought I was the only one not seeing the big deal with Keri. She is talented but I don’t see star quality. I give her credit for her writing skills though. Joe, I liked the song as soon as it came on. His stuff is always mello but I like hearing this type of R&B, where it’s not so contempary but still a sound that will last. Plus he has a good voice, I know I’ll get killed for this but Chris Brown and Usher’s voices aren’t that great compared to Joe. I know he will never have their marketability but he is still more vocally talented. Not a fan of Jordan so I didn’t listen to the song. Karina’s vocals are impressive on the Spanish version although the translation is not completely accurate. Her vocals sound better on the Spanish version than on the English version. She’s pretty good pronouncing the words too, not perfect but still pretty good.
I agree, i do not see the big hype about Keri Hilson and so does Solange Knowles. They’re great song writers but can’t deliver as real singers. On the other hand, Solange in my opinion cannot sing. Ooooh Ahhh annoying verses on her new song and sounded horrible doing it. I can’t understand why many of ya’ praising her like that when you know you should be giving credit to Chrisette Michells who actually deserves more promotion than her.

Angela. Great job on this site. What do you think of the O So Krispie video Slumber Party? Catchy song. She can dance, as we saw on the the TLC reality show. She looks quite different, hair, etc.
Im really feeling all this new material from Joe. I’m glad he continues to consistently put out good music inspite of the fact that he’s not getting much mainstream love. He’s my favorite R&B male artist. He’s so slept one even though he’s an awesome singer, great writer and his music is of substance.
I think Keri Hilson will do well. She has the entire package to me. A great voice, she writes well and there’s going to be stellar production on her cd, not too mention the fact that she’s sexy. Im anticipating her album.

Joe? loves! Karina.. i hated her song 16 at War. her mature vocals are were too good for that weak ass song that the Dream cooked up for her. if i was ‘into’ pop, i’d buy her CD but i’m not. i’ll just wave the flag and do a thumb’s up. i can’t make myself like Jordin Sparks, no matter how hard i try, sorry.. Keri’s great.
