Personally, I believe she doesn’t realize how stereotypical and offensive this video is, not saying that other’s aren’t, but this one really seemed odd being framed by a top rated female artist. Her video will continue to add to the oppression of women, especially black women, and how the are valued in society. She’s playing into the ideological structure of male hierarchy. I guess young girls need to know that to keep your man you have to have that “good good” and clean, wear heals while cooking, etc,.

I know there are other things to attack other then video’s, but this is something that is directed and advertise to our youth and affect’s their everyday encounters.

And yes, this is certainly not the worst video, but it doesn’t mean that it should be taking lightly. I’m just shocked ashanti went this low, i mean damn.

We always talking about how flyy or how cute things are, but when the children in our neighboor are interpret and except these images, they are lost. White children are not hurting like black children are when it comes to rap music affects, despite them being the main consumers.
