VIDEO CLIP: KANYE WEST & MTV GIVE BACK TO WAR VETS
Monday, July 28, 2008
As we reported last week, Kanye West and MTV’s ‘Choose or Lose’ teamed up to tell the stories of returning war veterans in the powerful documentary “Choose or Lose & Kanye West Present: Homecoming” set to air tonight, July 28 at 10pm ET/PT.
On behalf of MTV and the Dr. Donda West Foundation, Sway and Kanye gave each veteran a life changing gift. Debts were paid off, rents were taken care of and tuitions were funded. Peep the clip above..

It’s dope that they are doing this. War veterans get no love when they come home. Hopefully this inspires more people with extra financial means and charities to give back.
I couldn’t see myself fighting in any kind of war. So I have so much respect for those who do. And they need to be appreciated.

Its so sad that in this day and age I have to go risk my life and fight a war to get my bills taken care of. Why cant I just get that type of love for going to college? **Totally Kidding**
Good looking out Kanye, these people deserve this and a lot more cuz Lord knows Bush and his henchmen dont give a shit about the people they’ve sent off to die.

Lol @ greg.
I was riding with you until the “totally kidding” part. Nonetheless, I’m glad SOMEONE is getting some help. Even if it isn’t me, it still makes me feel good inside.

On this show MTV showed really good examples of young blacks in america. Those two docs with the black americans showed a part of the black american experience not reflected in “what its like to be black in america” on CNN. It seems they felt the need to neglet the young black adults serving in the military.
They only showed the extremes of the black experience; very successful individuals and families or low middle class struggling ones. There was never a balance. I felt they only emphasized white peoples stereotypes.

I saw the program last night it was amazing that Kanye would do something of that magnitude. It was great to see the look on their face when Sway and Kanye showed up.
I view Mr.West in a completely different manner, the government totally turned their back on the vets that gave their life for this senseless war.
It was awesome I am encouraged to give back as well. Kudos to Kanye !!!!!

Wow only 24 comments I watched this last night and I applaud Kanye for helping along with Sway and MTV. I am proud of all the young veterns featured in the story and I was excited that Kanye and MTV helped them out. I loved the young lady reaction to seeing Ye I would act the same way.
