is this a JOKE?!?!/ Jezzy is riding around a poor ass neighborhood in a drop top and probably about a million dollars worth of diamonds on, and i’m suppose to take this shit to heart :!?!?! REALLY? I don’t have the energy to finish watching this vid.

    Jezzy get over yourself.

  7. ThatGirlLinda

I need another Kanye CD his part is the best. I’m still jamming We Major… and that Cut with Brandy on it.

  8. Dame(there is no stopping the haters)

It is clear that Yeezy and Jeezy parts wasn’t flimed together and that all Jeezy videos look the same but this is my jam….

Why ever since Gold Digger Kanye NEVER looks in the camera???????

  9. I half watched this video yesterday on 106.

I only perked up on Kanye’s verse & his part of the video.

I like the hook on the song though.

  10. *CALI BABY*

Kanye HAD to make the video… Hell he IS the whole song! Lol… Jezzy and those Exces know that!

  13. H-Town Chic***

The song is aight but I LOVE Kanye’s verse if he wasn’t on it it would be just another rap song.

  14. STLCHICK

I like the message of the video and Kanye saved this song! As much as I love Jeezy and his flow on this song Kanye took it to another level. In this song he really could’ve kept the hoochies. I mean they were pointless IMO.

  15. BRIANA

kanye saves the day again :D

  16. Holloway

    #6 I feel you!! lol

Can someone please tell these cats that bringin a 100K car to the middle of the ghetto, with diamonds around ya neck is not the best way to show a correlation of your empathy and substandard economic conditions…LMAO I mean really. I like Jeezy. But the lyrics dont fit the video.Yu cant rap about flossin, ya pistol, haters, etc..then make a video depicting just how fucked up life is. Im all for having the flyest shit..I drive a Mercedes, rock nice clothes yada yada but Im also not oblivious to the real plight of many African Americans and I know everybody aint able. Thank God Kanye had enough sense to do a solo AND his lyrics come from raw emotion, not materialism. These rappers are killen me, I swear….lol

  17. I just love me some Jeezy! He’s hood, ugly and rich! What more could a woman want? LOL!

  18. Bianca

All I want to know is why was Kanye bleeped out out saying …”All I really need is one of Russell’s neices.” If this statement was deemed derogatory toward the Simmons girls, then why in the heck is is appropriate for any of the other demeaning language to be use toward any black woman.

  19. MiZz.ThAnG

Kanye defo saved this song..I only watched his bit in the video! & I only listen to his bit on the song!

  20. Aries

Kanye’s verse is the main reason I love this song.

  21. minnie

  22. TJH n KC

I pull off for Jeezy, I pull off for Jeezy, I pull off, I pull off.

Oh Jeezy, you can get it!

    Lol!

  23. TJH n KC

Wait a minute. Yall saying Kanye saved this song? Excuse me. There is a little from both worlds. It depends on which world you identify with. Okay. Jeezy is a G. Thats who he is representing for. He never said he was for the nerds. You will never catch Jeezy wearing tight jeans looking like Peter Pan and throwing tantrums. Kanye and Jeezy came from different backgrounds, so what you expect. I like Kanye’s part too. If Kanye wasn’t on this track, it would still be dope and n i g g a s would still be running around talking bout, I put on for my city.

    Don’t f u c k wit me on this.

  24. TJH n KC

Another thing, Kanye tried way too hard when he performed his verse for the BET Awards. He was so animated, and overly dramatic. It wasn’t called for, and I was embarrased.

What did Jeezy do? He was cool, calm and collected. He put on.

    He can get it.

  25. Tamara

Jeezy is for John McCain…. I am too cool on Jeezy right now. His reason for this is because “McCain came at him like a G”. That is what this ignorant nicca told Vibe magazine. Umm. The only reason he came at Jeezy at all is due to the fact that they were both on SNL that night. Not because he’s a fan. And McCain was on Ellen even though he’s against gay marriage. So again I ask, how exactly does one come at you like a g?

  26. AC

I cant watch the video cause i am at work, but i tell you what. When i heard the song i didnt hear anything Jeezy said and dont get me wrong i like Jeezy. But when Kanye came on i was like WHAT?????? My cousin and I have been waiting for him to black since his mom’s passing and this was it! His verse is my ring tone, my husband said dont you think you are too old hell no cause Kanye killed it! I love rap Kanye, Jay, Nas I would say Jeezy and T.I used to be on my list of people i listen too. But Kanye’s verse is the best! There’s still N-gg-’s that owe me checks! WHAT? the money and the fame dont mean ish!

  27. tia

i seriously hate watching videos on the net because it takes me a half hour to watch a 4 to 5 minute video,so i just gave up on watching this one….i thought it was aight from what i saw….but i agree with what someone else said… i mean whats the point of showcasing the problems in the hood and then here you come looking all phresh to death and in a nice car parading what you have,it would of been better if it showed him trying to be a politician and do something for his community you know REALLY put on for his city lol….but ummmm ok

i didnt get to see kanye part and i’m mad cuz his part is the best but whatever i’ll try watching it on youtube later

  28. tia

#25 please knock it off he already addressed that…he IS an obama supporter…thats old…

  29. Theworldwillendin2012

I agree # 14, the hoochies in the video were completely pointless & had nuthin 2 do with the message, but overall i actually love the song & vid.

  30. hood_shit

Kanye the only reason to watch this shit!

  31. too many cliches to try to be political. the song is still hot though

  32. ANAYA

    # 23 I completely co-sign

  33. cc

    #23
What are you talking about? Nobody likes the song because Jeezy is a “g”. No one likes it cuz Ye is a “nerd”. Kanye just spit harder.

    Truth hurts.

  34. Flipp

I really like this video because it shows the struggle and pain thats going on throughout the hood in this country…

  35. shoyouright

liked the beginning of the video, but it was quickly lost after the first minute. i like how jeezy toned down his flashiness to try and convey the message better (old school car without the extra trimmings, small chain/piece, etc). the random broads in the middle (though great eye candy) took away from what he was talking about. kanye’s verse, however, fit nowhere into the concept they were going after. as flashy and abnormal as that dude is, i doubt he’s feeling anything of a recession right now or can even begin to relate to the situation thousands if not millions of americans are feeling right now. try again yall…

  36. Nina

Is Kanye kidding me ?? First he rap about Jesus walking with him and now he iz saying in other words that Jesus ain´t nothing.

I think he needs some soulsearching peepz

  37. AC

Also I the comment made about Russell’s neices was taking out of context. Maybe he meant they are portrayed not so much as angels but in a good light and he needs an angel right now to save him, could be his reasoning for that line. I doubt it was in a disrespectful or derogatory way.

  38. TJH n KC

    #33,

What are you talking about. You can’t possibly know the different reasons people like this song. Like I said, they come from two differnet worlds, so people, like myself will interpret the meaning differently. I thought Jeezy’s verse was the hardest.

Kanye seems confused. He is saying nothing about putting on for his city. “where we at tonight, I’m high as a satelitte” is the only part I thought could possibly relate to the concept of this song. The concept is basically meaning they are showing off for their city. If I am incorrect, please advise me.

    Thanks.

    More, #33

Yes Jeezy is riding around in the hood. The hood is the city he is from. He is putting on for them. His way of putting on (showing off) is wearing jewels, and driving expensive cars, thats how he shows off for his city. He can’t help he is from a dirty poor city (the hood) he depicts in the video. That is where he is from, and that is who he showing off for. DUH! So when you people say he shouldn’t be in the hood in this video, I can’t help but to wonder why not, since that is where he is from.

    Duh, Duh, Duuuuuuuuh! People!

As for Kanye’s verse he hasn’t said nothing about how he is putting on for his city?
I don’t get it. Educate me.

  40. Belle Cadeau

I actually really liked the visuals, the black and gray. Even if Jeezy no longer fits in with the images shown, I feel like to a certain extent we should all be able to see ourselves in eyes of the people shown (or if they actors, in those they represent/portray). I really like how deep Kanye goes with his verse. I love when music actually makes you feel something. Tupac’s music did it (still rocking Changes) other rappers should follow suit. I don’t always want to here about booties clapping on kitchen floors (LL Cool- that’s nasty).

  41. Big Ups to AllMYHATERS

I actually liked the video as I am a Jeezy fan. I saw it first on BET last night and yeah did edit the part of Russell neices. If does make you wonder why they did that as there was no profanity used.

  42. Danc3

i like the msg behind the video…..but im sure kanye isnt hurting too bad from the recession, along with other celebs…hell look @ weezy!

  43. Ladycole

    i actually liked this video.

  44. Anthony

this video was iight but kanye wests part he wasnt even looking at the camera lol

  45. sheedjeezy

i agree kanye’s part is easily the best part of the song and he did go harder and took it to a higher level than jeezy did. but all you people that are saying kanye isn’t feeling the recession or his verse doesn’t go along with the message are completely wrong. He isn’t feeling the recession that the hoods are going through so he went off on the recession he’s feeling in his personal life: LOSING HIS MOM.

Reading thru the various comments here, like “I only like Kanye” or “Kanye made this song”, shows that the majority of women who listen to Hip Hop don’t really listen to Hip Hop. Jeezy’s lyrics made this song. I listen to this song in the gym and Jeezy’s lyrics get me hyped to push harder. Kanye’s part is great as well but when I first heard it, my initial thought was “why is he trying to sing?”. That’s the problem with Hip Hop nowadays, no real lyrics. I guess most rappers/producers just want to make a hit to appease the mass of brainless female listeners…

  48. Woop a.k.a. I hate haters... does that make me a hater?

    I only like Kanye’s part
