D. Woods was spotted wearing them first when she was arriving at MTV Studios back in April. Santogold was spotted wearing them this past weekend when she performed in Central Park for their Summer stage concert. You know the routine.

It really depends on your sense of style. D. Woods is more matchy-matchy w/ the shoes and the bag and the shirt and Santigold is just rocking them. I gave it to D. Woods because I would never come out of the house dressing the way Santigold did.
Not really feeling the way either one of them rocked it, but if i had to make a decision, it would be D. Woods. Santogold always looks a HAM. Good thing her music doesnt suck as bad as her fashion choices.
I like D. Woods’ (her voice), dont know or care who Santogold is! But however, both of these ladies look a hot azz mess!

To all the readers that hate on Santogold- she is a part of an indie scene full of alternative/creative African-Americans. In the scene, the 80′s look is very popular now. They are creative and they are doing something new. Trends can last longer than six months.

@28 the Hip Hop 80′s style was built on coordination. That was the style. Everything had to match.
What kills me, they are trying to bring back the 80′s hip hop style, and they aren’t doing it right. Santi is dressed like a NYC greek body builder with those funky pants. And D… someone should have told her, you do not wear a short stone washed denim jacket with black jeans. Either match the jeans or go khaki. And what was she thinking with the pink and white laces?? Everyone trying so hard, and fall right off.

She is talented I give her that but I never understood her style I keep hearing it’s an NY 80′s style I’m from NC and go to NY very often and was born in the 70′s and I just don’t see it alot of us did not dress like that back then.
