The album is really good, I was impressed. I DLed it sometime last week but I’m DEFINITELY buying it on Tuesday. Cheers.

1. Cee-Lo is such a talented writer. It amazes me that he keeps penning these great songs for female singers.

2. This album is REALLY good. Solid is a good way to describe it. I was really surprised. I was not a huge fan of “I Decided” but listened to some of the other leaked tracks and was blown away. I think everyone should really listen to the album. Solange really should be commended. What she is doing is very different and unlike anything you will hear out right now, least of all from her sister. I think this may be the thing to allow her to step away from just being “Beyonce’s sister.”

It’s a shame that her and daniel couldn’t make it work though. He really was in love with her to be honest I think he still is but he got caught up in being a player and despite what some people think he proposed to her before a couple of months before they even knew she was pregnant. Originally they were going to wait a few years at the request of his family but once danny found out she was pregnant that only made him what to marry her faster. I think they made a hot couple.

At number 20, I think it’s still on there just not featuring lil wayne. I like wayne on it though.

To be honest I don’t think that Solange is BIG ENOUGH yet, to be considered Solange, well to completely drop the (Beyonce’s little sister). Yeah people know her, but people who aren’t Beyonce fans and don’t go on blogs still are like, Who? I have always loved Solo! I pre-ordered my copy already. I love every song om the album. She is such a fashionista. She’s putting out the best videos of the year Solo is going to the top! Oh and she is real. Who doesn’t love an artist who can connect with the audience? GO GET THE CD!!!!!!!!

People are stupid on this blog. It’s clear that she’s going to flop. This album do not do any good, even if she tried harder. She can’t last long in this business. So what she got nice songs, but let the sales speak for itself and in fact check back for the sales results which will be out next week.

Solange brought the heat on this album I’m been jamming the it since last week when I downloaded all the songs (but still buying it on tuesday). I didn’t know she had that much talent and her range is crazy. She is a sick songwrither and her album is way better than her sister’s last album. Well, I decided to listen (and watch the video) to that Sandcastle Disco and I LOVE IT! I spent all day painting (ooh, I HATE painting!) and just kept singing the chorus. Now, I don’t get the video (I’m just not into the look of those sixties type vids with the corny, cheesy looking special effects) but I like the song. I also don’t buy a lot of music but I will more than likely buy her album. Good job, girl!

Okay, ive had this album since tuesday and although i like it i find that if you listen too much it starts to sound like she wailing, also Solange needs to extend her vocal ability past regular and falsetto. The reason that i make these comments is that she isn’t a new artist so her ability really should’ve improved.
In terms of herself, i’m just about tired of all this individual talk. In interviews in the U.K she clearly trying to hard and it’s coming across. When she talks about her clothes not matching some of us remember the run of the mill blonde weave and matching outfits she wore not that long ago, if she’s now found herself, good, but there’s no need to keep going on about it.

The stand out tracks for me are T.O.N.Y, Dancing in the Dark, Would’ve been the one, Valentines Day & I Told You So - although i enjoy it as a whole

I’m a guy, and I’m just sick n tired of pop music. I haven’t listened to the radio in years b/c thats all they play, mainstream commercial BULLs***. It would be an abomination, BLASPHEMY if I ever bought a pop album, don’t matter if its hip hop (which is simply pop nowadays), R&B pop, country pop, or Pop Pop. Mary J, Mariah carey,Snoop Dogg, Rihanna, Chris Brown, LL cool J, its all Pop commerical music. And it kills hme.

So can I PLEASE get some real soul music? I’m actually diggin Solange’s new style, we can easily say its just a gimmick, but i think creatively she’s tried to be different from her sister, who I couldn’t imagine buying an album from.

Only problem I have with Solange is her VOICE. Its not soulful enough. She strains a lot and thats only painful to my ears. Id like to buy her album, because I’m desperate for SOUL MUSIC. But her voice just doesnt do for me what I want it to do.

No, she’s not the best vocalist, but her lyrics her great, her style is unique and the production is crazy. “Cosmic Journey” is out of this world, literally; I never heard anything on that caliber…I’m really digging all of the tracks, they all bring something different to the forefront. IMO, she has the potential to really be something great, if and only if she stays in her own lane. I’m definately rooting for her!!!

I heard the whole album a couple of days ago . T.O.N.Y, 6′ Clockk Blues, and her duet with Bial are faves on the album. I have a rule that I’ll only buy an album if I like at least half of the it, and in this case I do like over half of the material so I’ll be getting it this coming week. I’d say this album is a solid effort. A little above average.

I agree with the earlier post that mentioned, that she should have put “White Picket Dreams” on the album. That’s the best song she has ever done in my opinion. Solange if you’re reading this, job well done girl. You have my support, and White Picket Dreams should have seriously been on there! It’s a beautiful song.

I agree w/ #68. Most of these comments are made by people on the Knowles payroll. Solange is too whack and (poorly) rehearsed. Cee-Lo writes all her songs and Beyonce comes up with her dance moves. She is not an artist. She’s just seeking fame. I saw her hosting some video program on BET where she tried to be artistic but came across as cliche and amatuer-ish with sayings like “art is in the eye of the beholder.” Give me a break. She was unable to expound on the pieces shown and has a poor vocabulary (kept using the words “unique” and “amazing’). She lacks an artistic eye and is incapable of analyzing anything aesthetic.

The fact that I like Solange’s music has ABSOLUTELY nothing to do with the fact that she is Beyonce sister. When her first album dropped, I was a huge DC fan, but I didnt buy her cd becuz I didnt like her music I felt she was trying too hard to be down.
True Amy Winehouse did bring the 60’s music back but does that mean no one else can do it? Do you think Amy Winehouse was the only person influenced by that time period? Can people just like someone’s music without being on someones “payroll”? if its not your style of music, then cool let it be, dont click on her music if you think everything she does is gabage. CL has posted plenty of her songs and im sure the people who are going on and on about her being garbage have listened to the same amount of songs as the people who think her music is nice. After the first 2 or 3 songs they posted you realized her sound was “garbage” so why keep listening.

I am not sure why all the hate if you don’t like it then move on. I am wasn’t a Solange fan as a matter of fact I called her Sponge for a long time. I thought she was piggy backing off of Bee success. When her first cd came out she was young and she has grown as a person no one is the same person they were at 15 or 16. She has a child and has been married and divorced and is she her own person not a gimmick like people are saying. NO I am not on the Knowles payroll just stating my opinion.

Solange’s writing is horrible pseudointellectual kid-with-a-dictionary type stuff… and if you think she can sing you’re either naive or deaf…she misses notes and just holds them…letting them trail for seconds like she’s in key…she’s the musical equation of the kind of vehicular homicide that entails hitting someone again and again…like the Dentist did to her cheating hubby.

Im confused. First, how come when i try to dl her songs i can only find I Decided, Sandcastle Disco, and that Chronic Nightcap song? Second, if this girl is so great and so popular among the public already, how come I havent heard ANY of her songs on the radio? Do they only play her outside of NY or something? #170 It’s funny that you say Amy copped a black woman’s band because she was put with this band by none other than Mark Ronson…the guy Solange begged (her word) to work on her album. He put them together because he thought they’d make great music together, which means their sounds were already comparable and if you’ve heard her demo’s (which were done yearrrrs before Mark even came into the picture) you’d here that her sound is comparable to the band’s. And as for her stealing a black person’s style…she made herself a student of jazz music so I would think it more appropriate to accuse someone else of misappropriating the genre…like Beyonce who goes on and on about Miles Davis but has yet to turn out anything even remotely true to the art…(and isn’t Solange responsible for most of her hits? lol).
