Our good friends at Rap-Up.com have exclusively reported that rappers T.I. and Nelly are planning to work on a joint album. Although both artists have albums coming out this year (Nelly’s Brass Knuckles drops September 16th, while T.I.’s Paper Trail has just been pushed back to September 30th), Nelly, who appeared on the cover of this month’s issue of Rap-Up, disclosed some information.
“We talked about doing a joint together, a whole album,” the St. Louis rapper disclosed to the magazine. “It’s not about just selling records for me anymore ’cause I’ve done that. It’s about making something that people will remember.”
This won’t be the first time the pair has worked together. Nelly and T.I. previously collaborated on “Get Loose,” from T.I.’s third studio album, Urban Legend, as well as “Show It To Me,” on 2007′s T.I. vs. T.I.P.
KANYE & PHARRELL SIGN ON FOR BRITNEY’S ALBUM
Despite her many tabloid antics, Britney Spears is finally getting it together and going back into the studio to record the follow-up to 2007′s Blackout.
It has been reported from Taio Cruz, who is working the album, that Kanye West and Pharrell Williams have signed on to produce some material for Britney’s upcoming album.
“The songs will be good – she has Kanye, Pharrell, Timbaland and me doing tracks for her.” He also added that the next record will be important for Britney’s music career.
“Her career is riding on this record so I need to sit down and talk to her to make sure she is ready,” Taio said.
Although the material is said to be strong, Taio insists that what will make this record a success if Britney’s preparation for it.
“It is more a matter of whether she is mentally and physically ready for this. On the last album, Blackout, she was tired and people were forcing her to put another album out. If she is ready, it will be huge – she just came with Blackout too early,” Taio said.
We’ll see, Britney.
UPDATE:
Kanye recently blogged, that he isn’t working on Britney’s new album…
Q-TIP RETURNS WITH THE RENAISSANCE
Q-Tip’s oft-delayed sophomore solo album, The Renaissance, will finally hit stores October 14 via Universal Motown. The nine-track set blends live instrumentation, scratching and samples for a sound reminiscent of the rapper’s work in A Tribe Called Quest.
The project is set tp open with “Shaka,” a song featuring an excerpt of one of Presidential candidate Barack Obama’s campaign speeches over a guitar-tinged beat. It still isn’t official that the track will make the cut, since the sound byte hasn’t been cleared yet.
“I start the album off with the Obama speech not just because I’m African-American, but because I really feel like he’s a fresh new voice and alternative from what we’ve seen in the political scene in some time,” Q-Tip told Billboard earlier this year. “I see similarities in his way of thinking and my way. I really like him a lot.”
Q-Tip’s last album, 1999′s Amplified has sold 675,000 copies in the United States, according to Nielsen Soundscan, and reached #4 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart.

I’m gopbsmacked that CL visitors are saying Blackout was a “hot” album! The whole album sounded like a Legally Blonde sountrack!!! The only thing that made the album bareable was the production, not Britney!
Clearly people on this site have no musical ear! Britney has always been talentless, even her dancing is wack- put her next to a great dancer and she would fall. To put it simply Britney cannot sing or dance thats a fact, her only talent is attracting media attention and that’s hardly a talent.
Plus if Taio cruz is on her album then its definately going to be crap
Nelly Is So Much More Than A Body! He Can Make Hot Music Out Of Anything… He Sounded Great With His Hard Voice On Party People, That Was A Hot Track That Got Passed Over Because Peop Were Not Ready For Change! Nelly Can Learn From T I And T I Can Learn From Nelly. Each Have A Seven C. Meal To Bring To The Table Which Will Not Only Join Their Fans, But Make Sure They Are Full! Although Timeing Is Everything So This Should Drop Next Summer I M O.
48. You dissing on britney calling her crackhead blah blah. I yi yi, what about whitney? was she once a cracck head? so what you trynna say, we should patronize britney is what? one thing that pisses me off about african-american people is they are so quick to play the race card, when their own kind “whitney” has done the same. You have the write to express your people. but don’t put people down, atleast she got some guidance, and going around fucking with brandy’s little untalented brothter. There’s alot of untalented mofo’s around her. I like rihanna’s style, but she can’t sing nor perform, better yet dance. Britney vocals aren’t up to parr like whitney’s or christina, but she can perform her ass of! With that send, brit-brit your last c.d. was the business, especially ” break the ice” remix with fabulous, get naked, gimme more, i dont care of her creed, but when ms, spears is back, rihanna better find another celebrity stunt, she already try to pull the janet move, with her itty-bitty, a cup breasts!
