@ MANICA…it’s ok if you dont like the song..everybody doesnt like the same thing..but what i dont understand is why would you say that if she go the “beyonce route” that she would be succesful ? see this is what kills me..cause if she was trying to take the “beyonce route” then you’ll be running your mouth saying that she’s trying to be like beyonce. but no she’s a her own..and wants to stay monica and stay true to herself..which i dont blame her. i like monica because she lets her fans in….she dont try to hide ish….i like her and keyshia cole for that…there like hey it’s not always peaches and cream. i like beyonce too..but to me she puts on a front like everything is perfect in her life…i dont see her personality thru her songs…she says when she performs she’s not beyonce she’s “sasha”. I dont know if i was a artist i would want to connect with my fans on so many levels besides shaking my azz

Bayby my favorite young artist has and is going trhought shit right here on this blog and my older artist that i adore and support have gone through shit..and are still standing and by the way I for years I have worked for one of those old artist and we are familiar with this game….like I previously said can’t no one tell you young folk anything..my point is these young artist need to humble themselves…and just thank God for the opportunity and you all need to stop swelling their heads up about how great they are especially in todays market and all the competition…like I said mainstream is where the money is. monica, brandy, and other r&b singers who have been with us for so long have a problem of shaking their former images/sounds because we as the consumer are not willing to embrace their shifts in focus and creativity. we pigeon-hole them and blast them for anything that contrasts how we have come to know them.

i work in music and the biz model has changed. if you’re not going to buy, at least leave feedback on their websites so they can get their page visits, profile views, or plays up so the numbers prove their is a base out there. otherwise, you’ll be stuck with the “shit” you’re complaining about.

The people who don’t get the message of this song are obiously young, and have not experience turmoil or change in your life yet. This song speaks to those people that have been backed into a corner and had to fight they way through that shit. This is real and I’m not even mad at the people who dont feel. It, one day, if God blesses you, you will see the beauty of this song… Keep standing people.

So this is the single? What is the point of her show then? I like what she says in the beginning of the track. This reminds me of Pollow the Don. Nice message and nice sound Monica. This is like a female R and B version of T.I.’s “No Matter What.” Only a lil boring. I mean nice message and stuff but Luda saves this song. I thought she was gonna come w/ some heat. Why people fronting like there aren’t any smart “hood chicks” granted they are a dime a dozen, but they exist. Monica has always been Monica from the beginning to the end. It was the media and record company who made her seem too sweet. Monica is that Ryde or Die Chick and she’s grounded, which is most important. Hood chick does not equal dumb people!

Her gift is that she really is who she is in her music…just very REAL and I love that about her.

However, her last 2 albums have not been that great - not her vocals, but just the cohesiveness of the production of the albums. I hope this next one is better, even though based on who is working on the album, it seems like it’s going to be all over the place. We shall see…
