On this song, his voice sounds much stronger and he is singing with more conviction than on the others.

All y’all know he sounds better on “Woop That Trick”. I believe a Terrance Howard rap CD would sell better. He can play guitar tho.

I actually think this song is pretty good. Much different than I had expected.
I actually just found out that Solange, Michelle Williams and yes Terrence Howard will be performing on Thursday, August 21st at this years J&R Music Fest in NYC.
The concert is free so I may have to check him out. Ashanti and Joe will also be performing on Saturday, August 23 on the last day of the event.

I’m feeling it…interested to hear the rest of the album - especially his guitar sections. I think Terrance would put on a good live show in a small venue like a house of blues or something like that.

I don’t know what to think of Terrance Howard as a music artist…it just seems weird to me. It sounds a lot like something Ben Harper would do.

I’m diggin’ the production but I can’t take him seriously as a singer. He sounds like he’s talking or in a movie. Prince is his idol and this definitely sounds like his type of music. PLENTY would be hot with Prince singing on it not him.

This is a hot, raspy, need-some-lemon-tea mess! The instrumentals are nice. The concept is interesting, and were it not for *that* voice, I could seriously feel the song. BUT, *that* voice…. At first, I honestly wanted to give the (triflin) brotha a chance. I thought he was gonna give me some Terrance Trent Darby, but instead I got that raspy, three-note-range mess. Not a good look. Get a vocal coach, or better yet, don’t quit your day job. Next!

@Jazz: He has been promoting this CD, but I’m sure because he is a newcomer, he isn’t going to get the big marketing budget the first time out.

I like it! It’s perfect for a movie soundtrack. As soon as I heard it, that’s what I thought. Soundtrack music.

Haha… well, my man should (my opinion only) most definitely stick with acting… But I’m always excited to see people step out of comfort zones and live out their dreams. T. Howard isn’t the most gifted vocalist around, but he loves music and went for it. More of us should be doing that!

He played some of his music for a small audience at the Essence Music Festival. his music sounds like that alternative stuff. I didn’t like it at all but he was cute though!!

@47- I was thinking the same thing. It sounds like track Lenny or Seal would do. As far as his voice, I think it needs to be trained a little bit more to get the raspiness down so it won’t sound like he’s off key. But I don’t think this song is bad, it’s alright. I’d have to hear more from him to say he’s bad at music.

I actually really like it. Big ups to Terrance. I was a lil iffy the other day when I heard about his music career. Didn’t know what to expect. Seems like it may work out for him though. Nice.

“Hater” is the most overused, not to mention inappropriately used word in “black America” - WTF? Why do you have to be a HATER because you don’t like something? What I find interesting is that the people who USE that word are able to like (or dislike) what they see fit, but the minute someone else says “I’m not feeling it” they’re a hater?

How about people don’t like it simply because it’s not their taste/style? What’s wrong with that? If this weren’t Terrence Howard, the same people who are claiming everyone else is a hater would be calling this mess garbage.

I like Terrence, I’ve heard him play the guitar and was actually looking forward to seeing what he had to offer on his CD, HOWEVER, if this is any representation of what we can look forward to, then I’m not impressed.

This is something I could see on a soundtrack, but I’m not trying to purchase it if this is what it’s going to be like.

I love all kind of music and I feel one must have an ear for it.Santuary however is not a song that I like to hear Terrance sing.I know there should have been some notes used that were not . although the second song made me think that this man could become a great singer one day.SO dreams can become a reality.Thank you Mr.Howard.

I am extremely impress with Terrence…I was not a fan of Terrence, but more and more he is growing into this beautiful flower. I saw Terrence several time at a Salon in LA, he is beautiful physically, but its impressive to feel his expression of Love in his music. Love has many level, and its rare in this new generation to discover a human, especially a man expressing the dept of Love..He has set the tone of expressing Love on a deeper level. The majority of human is fighting for survival, You cannot find TRUE LOVE, fighting for survival..The World lack True genuine LOVE. We cannot be the humans God created us to be by attaching ourselves to what we see on the surface, or following someone else, becoming the creator that God entended for each of us is not found on the surface, but within…I LIKE THIS GUY TERRENCE.
