This is so sad. I LOVED Bernie Mac. It seems like he had so much more to do on this earth. He was a great comedienne, wonderful actor and he so could have had his own radio show and left the rest in the dust. He was the best part of the Kings of Comedy…”Him Downstairs” Hilarious! I can just watch that part of it without seeing the rest over and over again. Not to mention his heart and the fact that he would raise his sister’s children while she struggled thru substance abuse. Not many would.

The world is truly missing out on one of the greatest that ever did it.

No disrespect to this man, but it’s obvious that he died from AIDS. Pneumonia is one of the clearest signs of that disease. That Hollywood sphere deals heavily in h*mosexuality. Most white actors have to bend over to get these roles so I can imagine what he had to do to break into Hollywood, much less get in movies like “Ocean’s Eleven” with all those bisexu*l actors. On top of that, he was a member of the Boule.

This was a big shock, I must admit it made me very emotional especially as I was glad that the original rumors of his death were not true and now it has really happened. I enjoyed his style of comedy, and am sad that we won’t get to see more from him. My deepest sympathy goes out to his family and it is nice to see all the respect being paid to him on concrete loop, so many people had much love for him as an entertainer.

My question is, according to all the reports, Bernie should have recovered from this simple pneumonia, so why didn’t he? Maybe his death should be investigated to make certain everything was done properly while he was at the hospital and not just signed off as “normal” causes?!!

Im glad we have “black” websites such as this one (thanks Angel), and the internet because this is not making head line news. The news announced his death briefly (maybe a minute on some stations) and in the Sunday paper I thought maybe he’d be on the front page but he is fetured in a little picture at the top of the front page of the news paper while there is a BIG picture of some “white” sports player” covering the majority of the page.

I thought maybe BET & TVone would interrupt their original programming and pay tribute to Bernie by showing some of his movies etc… ( I didn’t notice anything much on BET, no breaking news reports or anything—maybe I missed it) TVone showed a picture of Bernie with the year of birth & death between shows & movies, but that was it. I hope this week proves both channels different. I expected alot more coverage from them rather than the “white MEDIA” (of course). Hopefully as the days progress more celebs will come foward with their thoughts on Bernies death, & we’ll hear more about it. When Gerald Levert passed away he hardly got any recognition as well in the MEDIA “white MEDIA” especially.

If you left the room for a quick drink in the fridge, you would have missed the coverage on his death. Hell, you could have blinked & missed the news coverage on his death…& he was a music legend too.

Man I dont know…maybe as the days go by we will hear more on Bernie. Eventhough he has passed on, some of these channels can pay tribute by showing movies, clips of The Bernie Mac show, or clips of some of his comedy acts!! I mean damn! Celebrate the mans life, he was one of the greatest comedians to walk this earth, and he gets “minimal” media coverage after his passing? Where is the RESPECT factor for the man? Why is the media making a BIG deal that Obama made comments on his performance for some fundraiser thing he invited Bernie to perform at. What the hell was Obama expecting from Bernie Mac?

this week is very very sad for all people who loves black music and comedy. both isaac and bernie have joined forces for the upcoming movie Soul Men and they died in the same week . Life is strange, you don’t know what gonna happen to you, the next day.

Tears came to my mom’s eyes when she heard Bernie Mac had passed. He was a good man with a great spirit. Sure no one is perfect but Bernie wasn’t the kid of man who had kids out of marriage, or any other drama that most star have going on like domestic violence. He married his high school girlfriend had one daughter now a son in law and new granddaughter. His daughter has a Master degree in Social Services. So there there was importance placed on education. I’m proud that this brother followed his passion and achieved his goals personally and professionally. May God bless your Soul Mr. McCullough. You were the best! Much better than those guys who were in Kings of Comedy, you made the movie. God Bless your family.
