NEWS ROUNDUP: CONDITIONS WORSE FOR BLACK MALES? / JENA TEEN SENTENCED FOR NOOSES / JACKSON SPEAKS

According to a recent poll conducted by CNN and Essence, many people think conditions have improved for black women over the past decade but not for black men.

The survey showed 65 percent of blacks and 70 percent of whites believed black females were better off today than they were 10 years ago.

While 60 percent of whites think conditions have improved for black men, only 35 percent of blacks felt the same.

JENA TEEN SENTENCED FOR NOOSES

Jeremiah Munsen was sentenced to four months in prison for placing two large nooses on his truck and driving past a group of marchers gathered at a bus depot.

The 19-year-old had faced up to a year after he pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge of interfering with the marchers’ federally-protected right to travel. The marchers were waiting for a bus home after protesting the Jena 6 court case.

According to acting assistant Attorney General Grace Chung Becker when charges were filed against Munsen in April, “The defendant used a noose to threaten peaceful civil rights marchers who were in Louisiana to rally against racial intolerance.”

JACKSON SPEAKS

jjackson.gif In a candid interview with the editors of Essence, Jesse Jackson speaks on his remarks about Sen. Barack Obama, the role he’ll play at the upcoming Democratic National Convention and why he’s still relevant.

Contrary to recent reports, Jackson will be in attendance at the convention, but he’ll be there as an Obama supporter and nothing more. “I have spoken at the last six Democratic conventions, so I wanted to certainly make room for more speakers and broader participation,” he said.

ESSENCE.COM: Many younger African-Americans have been complaining that the old guard civil rights leaders focus too much on African-Americans as victims rather than moving the race forward. What do you think about this point of view?
JACKSON: This “old guard, new guard” is an unhealthy division. Politics must be inter-generational. You need Barack on the one hand to talk, you need Charlie Rangel, chair of House Ways & Means [Committee], and John Conyers, chair of our House Judiciary [Committee]. In politics you grow by adding and multiplying, not by subtracting and dividing. So “old guard vs. new guard” is not a healthy combination. The reality is that we achieved the right to vote, we achieved freedom, but we didn’t achieve equality, and that is the remaining civil rights work.

ESSENCE.COM: The rapper Nas and writer Kevin Powell, who is running for Congress in Brooklyn, have said that you particularly, and other civil rights leaders, are no longer relevant and need to step aside. How do you remain relevant to this newer generation?
JACKSON: The reality is that if you’re running for Congress, you need the votes of senior citizens. You need the votes of churches. You are not getting in Congress on a youth vote. That’s not the mass that you need to win a congressional seat. You need an intergenerational, multicultural coalition. And that experience cannot be thrown away. In Dr. King’s time, Dr. King was 34, but he reached out to A. Philip Randolph. It took both A. Philip Randolph and Dr. King in tandem to make the March on Washington take place.

ESSENCE.COM: We’ve seen you champion African-American issues and fight against injustice. Many people simply want to know, when you mentioned the N-word in your off-air remarks about Obama last month—why? They want you to tell them, as an African-American, why did that happen?
JACKSON: It should not have happened. What was private talk became public controversy, and I am embarrassed by that. There is no virtue in that kind of talk, and it should always be discouraged. My appeal even then was that responsibility is a significant message, but our needs require real government intervention and private sector incentives to address the issues of unemployment, building affordable housing and making education more affordable, which really was my point. It was a very painful period for me to have gone through that. The good news is that it’s behind us now.

ESSENCE.COM: Have you talked to Obama about it?
JACKSON: Yes. As a matter of fact, he sent me a welcome to the convention and made credentials available to me. We’ve gone on to the next stage.

ESSENCE.COM: As Senator Obama moves forward in the campaign, do you have any words of advice for him?
JACKSON: I think we have an outstanding candidate. We have the burden now to fully register and vote. There are still maybe 6 to 8 million Blacks unregistered who should not miss this hour, this opportunity. Now that we have a who, let’s focus on the what. What is an urban policy that can begin a renewed commitment to educate our children and to employ adults and provide public health care? These are the issues he has embraced. We have a candidate who has a good grasp of the issues that matter. But the burden is upon us now to maximize registration and output. Read the interview in its entirety.

    I’m really not impressed by Jesse’s response…

  2. Mbleek 1

Messy Jesse is at it again!!

  3. Dame(music will be hot the fall/winter the singers are back)

    ****Jesse SIT DOWN and hush

***Big up to Kevin Powell I didn’t know he was running for anything

  4. Lady Architect

4 months is all that teen got and interfering with marchers is the only charge? Ummm hello what about the hate crime charge for the nooses. Four months is less that what a person would get for sagging pants.

  5. Greatestloveofall

    He isnt relevant.

And it doesnt surprise me about those poll results. With so many absentee fathers, whos gonna nurture and look out for black men, from a young age, cause the mothers can only do so much? I’ve also read that there’s something like a 10% gap between black women and black men attending college.

Glad they’re realizing racism exists in Jena.

  6. Greatestloveofall

    ….on 2nd thought, 4 months isn’t long enough!

  7. Tabby

Jesse,Jesse,Jesse, Black America is ready for change. No more, “Swing Low, Sweet Charoit”. He danced around all of the questions. He didn’t give anything deep or say anything hopeful. He has been saying the SAME things for 40 years now. I’m no genius, but after forty years, shouldn’t the “black plight” have gotten better? He doesn’t have any substance. He has built his life on playing on black peoples emotion, and don’t know what else to do. What about Jesse Jackson the man? I forgot, he put that part on hush. He wants to come off as immortal and a god for black. He isn’t Moses. I am so happy Essence asked him the questions they asked and didn’t try to sugar coat it. That alone shows we are ready for change. Jesse, this ride is over get off now and save face. But I know he won’t do that, it’s too close to making sense. He is gonna keep running his mouth and keep putting his foot in it.

  8. LUCA LUCA

Has Mr. Jackson ever been for the black people?

    Or is it a gimmick?

This inquiring mind would like to know.

  9. Something New

He’s an embarrassment to black people everywhere, he jumps around all the questions, twisting them to whatever makes him look good..w/e.

  10. ja

4 months wow. I feel like this is a big mess. If they send this boy to jail for 4 months then they for sure need to send those six for attemped murder. whats wrong is wrong. Black people are going cheer at this like its a good thing, but the turth is he is just a kid like those other boys who did something stupid ( only he didnt put his hans on anyone ) Now this young man is going to feel nailed to the wall by all black pople and he’s going to prison where hate grows like wild fire. How do we expect our kids in the black community to grow up and let go of all the We shall over come hate, if we present a picture that they are allow to do wrong because of things that have no bearing on what their life can be now, and other people should just take it. Aslong as we run from the turth, we will never success

  11. Man…Jesse has fallen off. He does not have the Juice anymore.

  12. ja

AND if they would have charged with a hate crime. the would have hell because the jena 6 commited a hate crime jumping on that kid for no other reason then he was white. sounds like hate to me

  13. ThatChickL

….Black women have always been on the hustle. Since, the beginning of slavery. I
… don’t think conditions have improved for Black men because IMO they don’t try or
…maybe I don’t see it. I see black men constantly wanting to be rappers and talk
… about things that have already been talked about women, money, cars
…..and clothes. I can say that I don’t view black men in postive light either due
…. to past experiences. I hope they will change. One thing I am tired of is seeing
……black men always on the 5 O’clock news trying to steal ATMS and Robbery.
***** For Jesse he just seems like an opportunist.

  14. Greg_Arious

    >>>I sincerely hope Jesse Jackson doesn’t get
    >>>A platform to speak at the convention
    >>>I very pleased at the sentecne of that
    >>>Inbred hick in Jena
    >>>Black men make your own destiny
    >>>Stop letting statistics and reports

  15. Greg_Arious

    >>>At #11 ThatchickL. Please stop with the gross generalizations
    >>>I feel bad for people like you who come from an area where
    >>>You are only exposed to the type of black men who dont try, and
    >>>Only want to be rappers
    >>>Where Im from its not like that at all.

  16. ThatChickL

**** Don’t feel bad for me but that’s what I see men who don’t try to succeed. When
***** I graduated from college there were only about 5-7 black men graduated and
******half of them weren’t Black American mostly African men. Personally
******* I could care less about any one who doesn’t want to learn maybe you didn’t
********see the special on HBO about Frederick D. H.S. Also, I am just commenting
****on what I see in the news featuring black men always committing crime. Like I
****said Black women more than double the rate of black men graduating from
*****college. So that is not a generalization that is a fact.

  17. Independent Woman (I don't care if ya get mad)

The way the prejudice in Jena has been for years upon years it seems that is hard time for Munsen. I’m sure if Jena wasn’t on the radar he would have been sent home with some moonshine and his cuz’ns cuz’n…

Jesse fall back until after the campaign your private talk gone public isn’t that far behind you yet!!!

  18. ThatChickL

**Don’t feel bad for me. I’m just speaking about what I see on the news.

  19. sassydancer

    please jackson sit it DOWN

those hillbillies should of gotten way more stricter sentencing

  20. sunofmoon22

I agree with the polls, simply the fact that black women are not getting the same
attention as black men, take a look at some of the laws that are being passed and
notice where the bulk of them are aimed at! A black man can’t even walk the street
without being stopped by the authorities over nonsense, black men have put under
a social profile along with hispanics!

As for Jena teen sentence, this just further shows that no matter how many
apologies are given to us black americans, the words are going to remain
hollow, you can’t apologize for others, when you do not know their true feelings!
Also, I agree the authorities emphasize more on butt crack than they do on the
    real issues!

  21. sunofmoon22

    @thatchickl,
I agree that “most” black men are not taking life seriously, but at the same time
“most” black women are not either, I mean you would be surprised to see how
many grown and old women are still out there just trying to make ends meet!
I understand what you are saying but all the facts can’t be found on the 5′ o clock
    news!

  22. bria

I think alot of our problems are brought on by self. There shouldn’t be and there wouldn’t be all of these absentee fathers if people took responsiblity for their lives. And Jessie is a hypocrite. He is an absentee father. So I think that is what people mean and think when they say he is irrelevant. He should introduce himself to his daughter and get to know her before he comes out and make these visions of grandeur speeches.

Black people do not look down on each other and believe all of what the media tells you. I’ve been a millionaire for about 6 or 7 years now yet still feel the racism of a young black male in any white neighborhood because we look out of place anywhere outside of the hood.

I’m 100% self-employed and could probably only get a $30k per year job working for someone else. I represent change, economic empowerment, and self-reliance. The American Dream and then some.

When you are a Black person in america you will have to deal with a lil racism or violence if you live in low income area.

My advice to young people and people barely making it… Get a degree in computer science or take classes so you can create your own online companies where your color isn’t an issue.

  25. JUDAH

——–Good thread J. Dakar. Thank you. Let’s understand one thing about polls that
——–involve black men and black women in America. They will inherently be skewed
——–and favor the black woman because the modus operandi of the U.S. government
——–from the time of slavery has been to cause confusion amongst black people by
——–exalting the black woman over the black male. This is why people like #13
——–believe that black women have been “on their hustle since slavery”, lol. The only
——–way that a female slave can be “on their hustle” is to be a whore and a
——–concubine for her master, which is what the black woman was during slavery.
——–No accolades should be given for being a slave “on your hustle”. The condition
——–that the black woman was under should be remembered, not venerated. The
——–master would oftentimes put the black woman in a position of leadership over
——–the black man, and also ravish the black man’s woman in front of the black man
——–to imbed in the black woman that 1) the black man has no power 2) Success
——–comes through submission and sexual intercourse with the white male (which
——–we still see today at a high level in corporate America.

——–Any person that studies successful societies knows that it starts with the
——–family unit. The civil rights movement was used to destroy the family unit of
——–black people by convincing them that their own businesses were not good
——–enough. Thusly black males must now appeal to the white man for an
——–opportunity as opposed to having the network of opportunities that a strong
——–community provides. This was the point of the U.S. government assisting that
——–pawn, MLK, from the top while he did their work for them from the bottom. Right
——–after the civil rights movement, and the liquidation of all black businesses, came
——–the feminist revolution, which played on the natural vanity of the black woman
——–and seduced her into the workforce of corporate America. Once that was done
——–they followed with the introduction of crack with the knowledge that the masses
——–of black men would turn to peddling this drug with no real job alternatives. This
——–is how the stigma of the black male as shiftless and lazy materialized with
——–validity because now that the black woman was empowered in accord with his
——–disempowerment, he became expendable in the home.

——–Now what we have is a generation of black women from 15-35 years of age that
——–grew up with no black male figures in the home. This means that 1) they don’t
——–know how to respect a man 2) they don’t know what a good man is 3) they don’t
——–know how to live in a home with a man 4) they don’t know how to not raise their
——–sons to be weak, emotional, effeminate, and submissive to the white man. This
——–has amplified the gang culture in the black community because now the black
——–male is looking to fabricate masculinity. The reason why there are so many
——–more black women in the “higher institutions” of America is because they have
——–bought into the American dream far more than the black male has due to what
——–America stands for, which is self-glorification. It has nothing to do with
——–intelligence of ambition. The black male wants to be an autonomous figure and
——- in total self-control of his own destiny. The sisters are extremely comfortable
——-submitting to this system and the white man because he has empowered them.

  26. KIKI

I used to like Jesse but now, not so much..

  27. dukesman2000

Situations have always been better for black women than they were for black men. Black men are seen as a threat in every facet of this society so we catch more hell.

Jesse is right the black movement has to be intergenerational, but the old guards should play an advisory role and they have to step back and let the new guard be in the forefront. They cannot do anything to divide, disrupt or distract the new guard from their course and in this case Jesse did everything he wasn’t supposed to do. So now he has become a pariah and rightfully so.

  28. Common Lady

    Good Post J.D.!

  29. ms_mac

………..Who cares about a survey and what “people think.” Let’s discuss some
………..hard core evidence such as the disparity in pay for Black men vs. women or
………..something hardocre like the types of jobs that each group is offered vs. gets.
………..Black men are always going to cry foul and there is some validity to that.
…………But the mere fact that Black women are doing better is not enough for me
………..to really care. What I’d be more interested in is knowing why and how to
………..reverse the trends. Crying “whoa is me” hasn’t gotten Black men anywhere.

………..Can anyone really take Jesse’s opinion of Obama serious at this point?

  30. JUDAH

    ——–@Ms. Mac

——–Do you really want to know how and why the trends can be reversed? You
    ——–sure?

  31. the_one

When will race really not matter. This kid is ignorant but one day this idiot will grow up and have children who will be just as ignorant as he apparently is, what do we do; how do we get rid of these idiots and their racist views. This is the same mentality that had the young men in Jena 6 charged and convicted.

  32. ms_mac

……..@ Judah, yes I really am. It’s always easy to study the hell out of why
;……..something is the way it is, which we’ve done 1000 times already. I’m ready to
………get to the point where we (Black women and men) can come together and
………formulate solutions. I I already know that some would suggest that Black men
………need to regain control of the home and I am prone to agreeing with that
……….within reason and limitations. However, to keep beating a
………dead horse when we know what the problems are is counterproductive.
………Wouldn’t you agree? A step toward a solution is better than nothing; even if
……..the truth hurts, which it will for both sides.

  33. ms_mac

….What the bloodclot. Quit deleting my posts man.

  34. Jelisa

I am glad that the system is taking these white racists seriously because i dont think they are playing around with these ropes….The last time someone tied a rope to a truck there was a black man being drug behind it in the Texas woods. and that was less than 10 years ago… I think this is a victory but the ultimate victory will be when these idiots no longer exist

  35. JUDAH

    ——-@32

——-Sis, everything in life is a balance and demands order. There will never be this
——-utopic society where black men and black women are driving to corporate
——-America together and both have equal paying jobs and are viewed equally. If
——-the black man is to be redeemed, than something or someone must either give
——-up their power or have it taken from them. There is only room at the top for one.

  36. Take that Haters

    @Judah
So the only reason why black women are doing well is because they have been submissive to the white man? Thats the biggest bull I’ve ever heard.

When I’m at uni, I’m not thinking about the white man, I’m thinking about working hard so I can have a great career and be successful. regularly see black men/boys who have not done well in school, have little ambition and blame “the system” for their failure. Instead of trying to do better for themselves, a lot of black men don’t, instead their content blaming others.

Obviously there are men out there who are successful and don’t fit in to the above category.

  37. TS

I think the problem is that many black women were raised into playing the role of the “independent woman” or “strong black woman”. The absence of a father figure in the household, only reinforces that way of thinking. So because of the fact that there isn’t a man in the household, many of us were raised into thinking we can take care of ourselves, with or without a black man in our lives. And as long as you think or feel that way, it is almost impossible to respect and look up to a strong black male. Shit, instead of looking at him as strong, often times he will be labled as “angry” lol. Trust me on that.
I grew up with just me, my ma and my brother. My pops was incarcerated for 17 years. His absence enabled me to look out for myself. I didn’t want to listen to my brother, who was older than me. Now my pops is home and often times I find it hard to take him seriously. When he lay down the rules in the household, I look at him like he’s retarded or something lol and look for my mom to try to change his views.
Trust me, I went through that phase of “them niggas ain’t shit, and I don’t need one in my life” Getting older however, I learned that it takes a strong black woman to know her place in the family and in the relationship. Thats why I think its very important for us to look out for the GOOD black men out there and at least try to uplift them…

  38. CAREN

4 months isn’t long enough at all!

Jesse needs to go sit down somewhere!

  39. JUDAH

    ———@34

———I know that you’re not thinking about the white man, sis. You’re thinking about
———yourself and how you can make more money. This is what I touched on
———already. Self-glorification. The black woman has to decide how she feels. Do
———you need the black male or not? Don’t tell me that the children are suffering
———because they don’t have fathers in the home and then your next sentence is
———that you’re a “strong black woman”, and you don’t need a man. It’s one or the
———other. I gurantee that when pressed, you will stand up for this society and how
———it is configured. This is why I asked Ms. Mac if she really wanted the answer
———because I know how you sisters have been trained to sell wolf tickets. You
———make comments reflexively instead of thinking about the consequences and
———ramifications of believing what you believe. It’s not in a man’s nature to be
———submissive. This is how the feminist movement has clouded your thoughts.
———You, and other black women, are comfortable entrenching yourselves in
———corporate America because you’re comfortable in the order that has been
———established by the white male. Because the black male does not have the
———same comfort, you view him with antipathy. That’s not even going into the
———massive amount of lies you’re taught in these institutions that you regurgitate
———as if they are gospel truth.

  40. JUDAH

    ——-@TS

    ——-Thank you.

  41. divainva

Lmao . Gimme a damn break ! I would love to drop a bomb in this B*tch . But I will read and just LOL .

  42. yeah right

    >>>>>>> Judah , To learn to respect a black man or live with one would require him to live in the household or atleast be in his child’s life . Now is that the black womens fault that men refuse to provide and be in their childrens lives ?

  43. JUDAH

    ———-@40

———-You know what’s funny sis? No matter what the black male says, it will be
———-viewed as an “excuse” but black women have been peddling this nonsense
———-about the black male running out on his responsiblities for the longest time
———-and it is tired. The black man is responsible for his children and must be held
———-accountable if he is negligent, in a court of law if need be. He is not however
———-responsible for the demons that pervade the spirit of 90% of these sisters. He
———-is not indebted to tolerate the tantrums and obnoxious nature of women that
———-have been raised to despise black men. Your excuse of black men running out
———-on their responsiblities made more sense about 10-15 years ago. Now, there
———-are many young black males between the ages of 25-30 that don’t have any
———-children because this society has turned child bearing from a blessing into a
———-curse. Beyond that, many of these sisters want to keep the party going well
———-into their 40′s and refuse to stop dressing like whores and running the streets.

———-Besides that, what does it mean to you for a man to be “part of his child’s
———-life”? Does that mean that he can teach and raise his children in a strong
———-manner or how the woman sees fit? I’m addressing a cycle and the genesis
———-of the cycle. No disrespect, but you sisters are looking at things that already
———-have been set in motion and cannot be altered unless the root is addressed.
———-Honestly, the majority of you don’t really want things to change, because like
———-I said, that would mean a loss of power on your part.

  44. divainva

lol Judah you soooooooooo full of shit

  45. yeah right

    >>>>>> I think the question was valid judah . How can you learn to write if you dont have a pencil , how can you learn to read if you dont have a book , get my drift …. Women are forced to be strong . if men are not the leader we have to lead ourselves . stop blaming women for the failure of black men ….. its actually black men fault women are so strong , we dont have guidance so we are guiding ourselves . order is not present , its too late to get order now , the community is out of control . . so stop with those bs stories of yours . black men need to be held accountable for their destruction of the black community . women wouldnt dress like whores if they had a father to teach them to respect themselves . afterall the father is suppose to teach his family . if he’s not there the mother has to and nine times out of ten she didnt have a dad either so the cycle repeats itself . please brother . black men have failed us .

  46. ms_mac

……Judah, I could care less about fulfilling corporate prophecies and being on equal
……ground in that respect. When I say Black women and men should come together
……I am referring to a meeting of the minds … having roles defined. From
……there, folks can make their money however they choose. And guess what, 98% i…..of the time it will be from the White’s man’s pocket since Blacks barely own shit
…….much less can afford to sustain their own communities.

……You seem to be under the impression that catering to the White man has
…….anything to do with what I’m talking about. It doesn’t. It’s about starting a
…….rebuilding of a broken relationship and that means several things:
…….1) understanding and accepting that BOTH sexes are at fault and stopping all
…….the finger-pointing and blaming; 2) agreeing that the past issues and mistakes
…….that were made have deep rooted ramifications (ie too many “overly”
…….independent women and too few brothers who are willing to accept their
……..shortcomings and learn from them and 3) TALKING ABOUT HOW WE CAN
    …….DO BETTER.

…….None of this is a quick fix but this constant dialogue about how
…….it’s all the Black woman’s fault and how she caters to the White man isn’t
…….solving shit. Furthermore, telling a Black woman that she needs to follow a
……..Black man, who for more than a century now has lost his way, isn’t solving shit
…….either. Why not bring those two forces together and go from there. What do
…….Black men really want??? What do Black women really want???? Don’t just
……..assume. We are not all carbon copies of each other.

……..@TS, so you mean to tell me that after 17 years of being behind bars your pops
……..is supposed to come out and be considered the “head” of the household
……..and your moms (after being single all that time and raising two kids solo) is
……..supposed to know her place just because your pops is a MAN???????
……..Even you didn’t take him seriously and you’re his son!!! So now tell me how
……..a woman is expected to respond under the same conditions? This is exactly
……..the issue at hand. Women have had to endure this sort of confusion and that
…….is why many can’t draw a line between relying on a man and going for self.
…….Half the time she’s been in pure survival mode. But now it’s like brothers get
……..mad because she did what she felt she had to do to survive. This is why it’s so
…….important to open the lines of communication. There’s just way too much
    …….misunderstanding and confusion between ‘us’.

    Very Interesting! thanks

“The reality is that we achieved the right to vote, we achieved freedom, but we didn’t achieve equality, and that is the remaining civil rights work.” He has a REAL good point.

To each is own. I would no longer carry the black man’s burden on my shoulder and get into long debates. I know who I am and what I stand for. I wish I could argue the black woman plight, but so many sisters have let me down. They are part of the problem, stop always blaming men. So, that’s all I could say because a large majority of black women are not playing their position. And no I don’t mean being submissive.

  49. Blkmarilyn

The Jena Six incidents are sickening to me. Do you see how the young man is smiling in his mug shot. The police probably thought it was funny that he hung the Nooses.

  50. Tabby

@48 You know the sad thing is, I’m not even worried or care about this Jena guy. My chances of being harmed by a blood is greater than me being hung… Why is BET promoting gang violence?

  51. politicallyincorrect

Wow how soon black folks forget. Jesse makes one bad remark off camera about Barack and you people immediately write him off forever? If there was no Jesse in 84 there would have been no Barack Obama in 2008. Thats why our community stays jacked up we don’t know our history. We have already forgotten the history made during the 80′s.

How are black men doing worse than black women? Do we have a black woman running for president? How many BW CEO’s do we have? How BW civil rights leaders do we have? Head of churches?

All BW have done is work hard to survive whether they own a business or wipe old peoples behind, while some BM have seemed to give up.

  52. TS

    @ Ms_Mac,
What the hell are you talking about? Before you come at me, make sure you come correct and not all sideways….My mom took a step back and let my pops run the household, when he came home, not because he is a man, but because he is THE MAN lol. He is working, pays all the bills and is basically the sole provider, making our foundation stronger than it has ever been. I thank my mom for everything, but the fact of the matter is that shit today is better than it was 4 years ago. And I think thats what made their marriage even stronger throughout the years. Thats why they are still together.
She didn’t remind him constantly how she did everything by herself, and that he wasn’t there (something that most young women of today like to do). She took a step back, because she knew thats how things are supposed to be. Sometimes, its best to let a man be a man. And that is alot coming from a female myself!
Interestingly enough, you will NEVER read stats about asian women doing better then their men, spanish women doing better than their men, or any other race for the matter. The above stats about us have alot to do with the black family structure being in the ruins that it is in today.

HE’S FULL OF SHYT BECAUSE HE TALKS OUT OF BOTH SIDES OF HIS FACE, ACTS LIKE AH “NIGGA” HIMSELF WHEN NOT ON CAMERA AND GENERALLY DOESN’T GIVE A F@CK ABOUT A CHILD HE HAS OUT OF WEDLOCK. HE CAN’T TELL ME AH GAT DAMN THANG..AND HE’S “NOT MY LEADER! NO RESPECT FOR JESSE YOUR TIME HAS PASSED!

  54. ms_mac

……..@ TS, simmer down and calm yourself. All that rowdiness is unnecessary. lol
……..This was a conversation and your point is well taken now that you’ve articulated
……..it better than when you first posted, which is to say that all you’ve just said was
……..NOT what I interpreted from your orignal post. You sound
……..contradictory because first you pointed out how you laughed at his authority.
…….YOUR WORDS: “His absence enabled me to look out for myself … Now my
……..pops is home and often times I find it hard to take him seriously. When he lay
……..down the rules in the household, I look at him like he’s retarded or something
……..lol and look for my mom to try to change his views.”
………So why are you now trying to go off on me? All I asked was whether or not you
………or anyone else could understand why the average woman would respond the
………exact same way you did when a man who has not played a role comes back
    ………into the picture.

……..The fact that your mother chose to accept his position speaks volumes for her
………character. However, every woman does not share that mindset. Some women
……….have a reason to question a man’s role or authoritativeness (just as you did).
………..So before you get all defensive understand how your own statement reads.
……..I’m not in your house so I wouldn’t know how much better you now have it. You
    ………didn’t initally make that clear.

    ———-@Ms. Mac

———-Sis, no disrespect to you but what “dialogue” do you respect to have? I’m not
———-trying to be dismissive of what you’re saying but we’re not equally yoked.
———-This society caters to egoes and it makes people think that their “opinion”
———-has weight and it really doesn’t. You can sit 40 negroes down and get 40
———-opinions for 40 minutes and go nowhere, like when they broadcast these BET
———-”Townhall Meetings”. There is no respect for order. Do you really expect me to
———-believe that 1) the black woman has not been heavily influenced by what the
———-white man and his society has taught her 2) that any of you will give up one
———-iota of the power and influence that you think you have? I mean please. If you
———-want to know how to “do better” than the Most High will show you but not until
———-he has destroyed this society because black people believe that their
    ———-”opinion” is more relevant.

———-Just to go into what your saying though, how do you think to repair a breach
———-like the breach between the black man and black woman unless the Most
———-High is involved? You accuse me of finger pointing but I gues that means that
———-the black woman is above reproach. Number one sis, the man and woman are
———-not equal. If you don’t acknowledge that, there is no need for any discussion.
———-If you hope to re-work the dynamics of the male-female relationship structure
———-to maintain the vain power you think you have, that will fail also. This is all real
———-talk, not “chauvinism” but you can take it how you want. I could care less.
———-It just intrigues me how contradictory you sisters are. For example, “TS”
———-related how her father just came home and is trying to be a father. Now insted
———-of you acknowledging that the man is trying (since you black women are so
———-concerned with black men being fathers to their children) you start riffing about
———-how he shouldn’t have a say because he’s been gone for 17 years, lol. So
———-if he didn’t make the effort, he’d be another deadbeat nig*er? In other words,
———-he should jump in front of an oncoming truck sis? Would that please you?
———-That’s how one knows what the real issue is with the majority, not all, of you
———-sisters. It’s about power, vanity, and self-glorification.

Not surprised by the poll at all.

I am surprised that the teen who hung the noose got time (We know how Jena justice is).

Whatever at Jessie I was over him years ago.

  59. So what...12345678

Okay….again Judah…wow, where do I go from here.

Again with the higher powers! Lets begin with one thing, the higher powers weren’t there for the slavery era, hurricane katrina and is certainly not there for the rough streets in america…I think its best that we start making changes our selves. Do you wanna know what the higher powers are saying? They are saying that our black asses have to take responsibility for our own actions.

Secondly, in regards to Black woman (from what I’m reading) are on their two knees sucking the white man’s dick (sorry for the crudeness), lets be honest here; history has shown that higher authorities are always toppled by those who can reach them; hence, the french revolution. In summary: At least Black woman are trying!

Judah…what exactly is your cause? do you have a cause? You seem to be stuck in the 50s.

Women are no longer seen as inferior counterparts in the home…they are seen as equal providers. White, black, hispanic or asian, two incomes are crucial for the well being of the family, especially in the times we live in today. When one is lacking, they should either be with the kids AND NO, there are plenty of men who have increasingly decided to raise their children as their wives work. For the father who was jailed for 17 yrs: forget the fact that he came back and assured his masculinity…his ass shouldn’t have been in jail in the first place!
