Sen. Hillary Clinton, a self-proclaimed “proud supporter of Barack Obama”, called on the Democratic Party to rally behind the Democratic presidential candidate, adding that “it is time to take back the country we love and whether you voted for me or you voted for Barack, the time is now to unite as a single party with a single purpose.”
Clinton was met with a standing ovation from an enthusiastic audience in the last speech of the night, as she thanked voters for supporting her campaign and reached out to those still wary of Obama. To sum it up, Clinton declared, “No way. No how. No McCain. Barack Obama is my candidate. And he must be our president.”
OBAMA ASSASSINATION PLOT?

Three men, Shawn Robert Adolf, 33; Tharin Robert Gartrell, 28; and Nathan Dwaine Johnson, 32, are facing federal charges after allegedly talking of assassinating Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama.
U.S. Attorney Troy Eid said the three never posed a serious threat to Obama, and none of the charges concern threats against him.
The three face charges that include possession of a firearm by a felon, possession of body armor by a violent felon, possession of methamphetamine, and possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute.
According to the criminal complaint, Adolf talked of killing Obama in Denver and during his inauguration. Considering you can only be killed once, it’s unclear if he was referring to Obama’s upcoming speech on Thursday or in January.
The complaint also states the men reportedly referred to Obama with a racial epithet and said that such a person should never live in the White House. Eid said they “could not believe how close he (Obama) was [sic] to becoming president.”
DYSON CALLED ON OBAMA BOOTY TALK

Named by Ebony as one of the hundred most influential black Americans, Michael Eric Dyson is making headlines for another reason.
In a statement to EUR, Media critic Paul Porters said:
“TV One’s “After Party” analysis of Michelle Obama rear end by Michael Eric Dyson, lacked class while lowering the low standard for television news.
Dyson’s admiration for Michelle Obama’s figure was off base and deserves an apology from TV One and and the Georgetown professor.
It’s tough enough trudging through opinion based biases on a daily level with pundits and analyst, Dyson has officially added sexism to mainstream media’s divorce of discussing real issues.
Michael Eric Dyson referenced a recent trip to Europe, by labeling European women with flat rear ends and was proud to see Michelle Obama’s, “gluteus maximus” as a symbol of the beauty of African American women. Education and common sense are obviously two distinct values and Dyson’s comments are living proof.”
HILLARY CLINTON TRIBUTE
The Democratic National Convention offered a look at the life and achievements of Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, narrated by her daughter, Chelsea.
In a well-received speech last night, Clinton threw herself behind former rival Sen. Barack Obama and added, “Now John McCain is my colleague and my friend. He has served our country with honor and courage. But we don’t need four more years, of the last eight years.” She is expected to free her delegates to back Obama today.

I hate when things are posted about someone trying to assassinate another. To me it give others ideas and cause a lot of confusion.. Thanks for the info Concrete Loop but I don’t think it was necessary…
May the Lord watch over Obama and his family
Obama 08
you know, even after reading the second story, the third one makes me shake my head even more.
is this the type of simplicity we can expect from one of the most “influential” black Americans? sick.
—I’m not understanding any of this..
>>>>>I think this Paul Porter is blowing what Dyson said out of proportion. I took
>>>>> his comments to mean that Michelle represented a beautiful black aesthetic
>>>>>booty and all. LOL I don’t think it’s that serious. JMO
Obama Booty? now you know that is UNnecessary to talk about outside the confines of the barbershop or some damn place. Not on TV.
I was glad to see Hillary finally get behind Barack. I appreciated her speech, but I’m wondering why her supporters are still allowed to vote for her in the election? How can we unite the party when they can still vote for her even though she lost the primaries? I’m confused by that and have never seen this type of thing happen before. To me that is simply contradictory and it is taking votes from Obama with the supporters she just encouraged to vote for him.
Smh @ people trying to assassinate this man. When will it end?
I’m sure Dyson didn’t mean it in such a horrible way, but at the same time he should respect that she’s a lady and she is someone’s wife.
Ah the justice system of America, where blatant racist walk and black americans
are outlined in chalk, I cannot believe the type of garbage system we have!
I heard the comment made by Dyson and did not find it offensive at all. He was referring to Michelle Obama possibly being the new standard of what a classy first lady should be and mentioned that she was voluptuous, which is something never seen before in the White House.
1. A dude named “ADOLF” plotting to kill Obama. You couldn’t make this stuff up. Geez!
2. I love Michael Eric Dyson, but he’s dead wrong for saying that shit on TV. However, I’d be lying if during Ms. Obama’s speech I wasn’t checking out her phat booty.
3. Senator Clinton did a good job last night but she didn’t hit home with her core supporters. The real die hard supporters need more than that. She has to draw the line and tell them to not vote for John McCain out of spite. UNLESS, she really wants Obama to lose so that she can run in 2012.
#4…well he shudnt had referred to “it” at all…it was not his place to make a comment abt her figure…that was out of line…her shape has nothing to do with the task at hand…the campaign and Baracks election….shes makn a speech to support her husband (which he is not so y is he even makn reference to that of another man) and he talkn abt wat her figure luks lyk. Now, i did not hear the tone of his comments
but from wat I have read and the context of this conversation…i wud conclude that his
words were inappropriate and unnecessary…
and Barack Obama will not get assassinated EVER in the name of Jesus….
@ # 5 – you said it best! That is exactly what I was thinking. You would think that he would have known better; on air during the convention was no place at all to discuss Mrs. Obama’s backside. Hopefully his wife will check him, I would.
I still say Barack should have picked Hillary as his running mate.
I watched Hilary’s speech last night and let me tell you, she really hit that one out the park. She really dug into McLame’s ass – I like the part where she said “it makes sense that Bush and McCain will be in the Twin Cities together, nowadays it hard to tell them apart.” This is just the beginning she needs to hit the road hard for Obama for the next 4 months; her future as the leader of the party depends on it.
Now, black people, we need to let it be clear to these racist bastards and other racist bastards in this country, that assassinating Barack Obama will set off the biggest race war in the history of this country. Let it be known to these narrow minded assholes that they will be met with maximum force by those of us who are not handcuffed by the non-violence approach of the past.
-
— I think the Dyson comment is being blown way out of porportion. Was it a
—- necessary comment to make, not really, but I think he is simply expressing his
—– admiration for women of color. There was a time where our features was looked
—– down upon and now there is a sense of pride and “acceptance” of those
—- features, which seperate us from our caucasian counterparts.
—- The assassination plot is something that I knew was going to happen during this
—– time. We are at a point in American history where events are creating a shitft
—– in American politics and many people are not comfortable with that. It is so
—– unfortunate that ignorance is still alive and well…but if Obama was concerned
—- with potential assassinations he would not be running for president. I pray
—- for Obama and his family and I pray for this country. May God help us all.
—-As far as the Clinton speech was concerned I thought she did a pretty good job.
—- I still feel like she lacked sincerity overall, but she did say everything
—- necessary in order to get the message across to her supporters to rally
—- behind Obama. Now we can put the Clintons behind us and focus on the rest of
—- the election.
Hillary Clinton
I saw the speech last night. I thought Chelsey looked very professional and I loved the introduction. I was a Clinton supporter in the beginning because I supported her view and I was intrigued by the idea of a woman for president even more so than a Black man. I guess the reason is that as a woman I know how much we struggle and she gave me hope that I can achieve anything. I later became disinterested because of her comments about Obama. This was a major turn off for me so I started to follow Obama more closely and decided to switch my vote.
In reference to her speech last night I thought it was good. I still think she put too much of her self in it though by making reference to what she stood for. I thought that was a throw off on Obama almost as of she was trying to say ok but what does he stand for. Bottom line she did what she had to do to try to unify the party. After all, isnt that what women do anyway? Yes, we do what we have to do but we always have a back up plan.
Yo…it was OBVIOUS that the DNC “after party” was going to be a festival of coonery. Did anyone see the promo?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9gGVErLOsBo
Let’s take a break from talking about Beyonce and Rhian’s hair for a moment to discuss something really important.
Did any of you happen to catch the Democratic Debates on CNN last night? If you watched it to the end, did you see this one black chick who was in tears, out of breath and out of her damned mind over the simple fact that Hillary Clinton is not going to become President.
The only BLACK / WOMAN to be interviewed by CNN at the Convention stands up in front of NATION-WIDE television to let the world know that since Hillary Clinton is not going to be President and has lost the race to Obama, this one black woman told the world that she may not vote.
Now …. to her small credit (she did say that Obama has two months to prove something to her).
Hillary Clinton delivered the speech of her lifetime last night. It was really uplifting and handed the Democratic baton over to Obama. This country is in a mess. I don’t know what your situation is….. but I need a steady good-paying job, affordable health care, a better life than what I’m living right now.
Please do yourself a favor, please wake up and vote. Don’t let one MORON (like the black chick on CNN) be the voice for women and people of color.
Now let’s get back to MARY J. and when her new album is coming out!!!!!
HILARY DID HER THING LAST NIGHT! THERE IS NO DENYING THAT! TWO GREAT SPEECHES…TWO NIGHTS IN A ROW. SO MOTIVATING AND INSPIRING! WHAT MORE COULD YOU ASK FOR FROM THIS CONVENTION?
Hiliary Clinton’s speech was very moving, very inspiring. I liked the part of the speech when she spoke of Harriet Tubman. She wsa humorous when she shout out all her sisters of the traveling pantsuits..lol. Tonight, I believe Bill Clinton & Joe Biden speak & then Thursday it’s Obama himself with Jrennifer Hudson signing the national anthem.
I really enjoyed Hillary’s speech! I don’t know how sincere it was considering she’s still a bit “jaded” from the Primaries. And Bill Clinton is still saying he’s not gonna attend the nomination. Even though she gave her speech about supporting Obama, it still seemed as though she was campaigning for herself with the “I ran for….” and “my beliefs are…..” All in all, I think the speech was effective, though.
***As a proud African American woman, I can proudly tell you that Hillary is pure
***hotness and my respect for her just rose to new heights.
Did any of you see that black woman last night on CNN making a complete ass of herself? She was literallly crying and going on about how the Dems stole the nomination from Sen. Clinton, and how her speech proved that she should have been the nominee” She gave a presidential speech and they know it!”?? Oooh she pissed me off I wanted to just snatch that bitch, oooh she pissed me off!! She kept rattling on about she’s not convinced Obama can do the job, even though he has the education and the skill and his lack of experience. she won’t vote for McCain but she’s not sure she will vote for Sen. Obama, she needs to be convinced??? You disloyal cow, is all I have to say!!
Nobody stole anything from Sen. Clinton, not enough people voted for her, end of story, it didn’t come down to race or gender, it came down to votes!! You as a black person, don’t have to support him, but why tear him down, that little melodrama she played out still won’t make her the nominee!! Furthermore, no one experience to be president except a former president, that job is a hands on day to day learning experience, age doesn’t give that to you, neither does gender or being married to a former president. All it gives you is insight on what the president may possibly face.
OBAMA 08, you may not like it, or be ready for it but it will happen!!!
I prefer Hillary over Obama. Hillary makes WAY more sense to me. I feel as though other people are making Obama look good but he’s not doing anything. Well not anything, but Michelle, Hillary, and other people are doing more for him than he is himself. I’ve never felt as inspired into Obama’s speeches like I did with Hillary and Michelle, that’s sad to me.
I THOUGHT THE SPEECH WAS GOOD AND TO THE POINT…HILLARY CONTRADICTS HERSELF ABOUT BEING A SUPPORTER WITH CNN AIRING HIDDEN CAMERA TAPES WHERE SHE TALKING ALOT OF SHADY SHIT…BUT ITS WHATEVA!
I KNOW WHO I’M VOTING FOR!!
meth users feel like they r gods – i believe theres alot of ppl out there wanting obama to be removed w/force i pray that doesnt happen tho….hillarys speech was very good but i still think white ppl will vote for the white guy cuz he’s white!. but there would be a problem if a blk person wanted to vote for obama cuz he is blk.
LOL this shyt is a JOKE!!!! just listen to fox news for 15mins haaaaaaaaaaaaaaa hahaha
First of all, regardless of how pathetic that black women was, she’s allowed to not vote for Obama. It isn’t because she’s black that she MUST vote for Obama. And for those who you who express some mefiance towards Obama, you are ALLOWED to express your incertitude. IT IS A RIGHT! For those who you who oppose, please use facts!
I certainly believe this country needs change and Obama is that change…however, those white supremacists have shown that change will be a bumpy obstacle.
Second of all, I have noticed that a couple of you have are supporting Dyson’s remarks. Lets keep one thing clear, if a caucasian man were to make those comments, this would be an outrage. I don’t care what race you are, Michelle Obama’s butt was not the main attaction during her speech. It is not endearing and let alone flattering comments! Michelle Obama is more than her rear end.
BLACK WOMEN alike have to stop seeing these comments as signs of endearment. It is disrespectful and it continously perputates this need for men to denegrate African American woman! If Dyson wanted to be polite, he should have commented on the speech!
First off, About the Dyson thing,
I watched the after-show on TV-One… I believe this was took out of context. He didn’t use the term booty. And even if he did, Dyson was attempting to explain how Mrs. Obama exemplifies Black Beauty and how her as first lady will make America examine Black women beauty. The fact that Michelle is compared to the classy Jackie-O speaks for itself. I don’t see sexism. Mrs. Dyson would not tolerate that and she was on the show, so hopefully this will encourage you to watch TV-One’s after-show.
hilary did so good, i was proud
I am baffled how many of these Hillary supporters are willing to sacrifice their vote to McCain or not vote at all. In the words of Hillary, what are you really voting for? If you vote for McCain, the same man who declined to vote for equal payment of women, you are clearly setting your gender back a couple year, around 80 years back to be exact! And if you don’t vote, the irony of the fact that you not for vote as women is slap to the face of our ancesters…Suck it up and vote Obama! Obama and Hillary have more similarities in beliefs than any other candidate and no he didn’t put her in Vice pres. because that would have been suicide! deal with it!
#7 Pissed Off, you need to get a clue. I also feel the same way as that lady crying on tv. I remembered when people were hooting and hollering that Clarence Thomas was gonna do it big for black people on the Supreme Court & look how he switched up & dissed us. That lady has the right to her own opinion. I’m not voting for Mc Cain either but Obama has to prove something to me. I’m not going for that “because your black” you get my vote. I’m not a follower, I’m a leader and my opinion counts and I won’t just hand it away, you have to prove to me that you can handle the position, not make speeches and flash a smile. There are many (undecided) voters right now. Until your “gut” or instinct leads you in the right direction, you pause/Sela until you have the right decision.
hillary did what she’s suppose to do. all the people talking about sincerity…would you be saying the same thing if the case were reversed. she went above and beyond her calling. you still doubt you can kick rocks. what you want her to go knock down everyone so barack can win. no, he needs to do his own campaigning.
@ 29
I hate to call you out but you defend Dyson’s comment and then you go on to say that McCain does not support equal pay for women and that women who support them are going back 80yrs? Aren’t we hypocritical?
I am not some big feminists but a man talking about a big butt is not a term of endearment. Equal pay or not, self-respect is also important.
Michelle Obama is much more than her body. She’s an intelligent women who has worked hard to be where she is (you must already know this). Call it black beauty, African American women are more than their “big bootys”. And we all know this!
If we finally want to be taken seriously, we must start respecting ourselves and a comment of this genre, regardless of the tone or context, is not acceptable! Black woman, please take yourselves seriously! We’ve been eye-candy for too long! Yes, you may expose your beauty but respect for yourself will enable others to respect you as well!
Loop – Thank you for posting the plot against Obama. I couldn’t find it anywhere yesterday although I kept hearing about it on the radio. What do they mean the men were not really a threat… Racist White Men with Guns are always a threat. It proves to the naive that Obama being assassinated is a real possibility, he received Secret Service protection long before any other candidate as soon as he made it known he was running because of the threats against his life. . It shows that this country still has a long way to go. I pray for them and may God protect them. Obama wasn’t even there that night. So would they have shot his wife and kids? Just sad.
Dyson – I cannot believe it. Wait, yes I can… Sit down and shut up. Don’t you have students to teach over at Georgetown?
they want hillary to do to mccain what she did to barack. hit him hard like she would for herself
people when does being a meth head become an excuse for not doing your job as an US ATTY and prosecuting these white hate mongers who threaten a sitting senator. and to want incident down played. tell me somebody this isn’t happenning. black people your attention span bothers me deeply this US atty should be removed for even thinking or mouthing the words taking up for these racist bigots. TROY EID it seems to me you are part of this invisible empire, your statement and reaction sounds like your nothing more than a hate group member himself. black folks let me refresh your short attention spans. the black men in florida who the gov’t said they wanted to blow up the chicago sears tower. framed now they set in jail while this US atty down play a hate group wanting to take out a gov’t official. this troy eid is nothing more in my eyes as a card carrying member of the invisible empire. AND HE DOES NOT NEED TO BE representing his office in the gov’t no more. he like others in them principalities are nothing more than straight evil. he does not deserve that job any more. tha way he responded to the barack threat MAKES ME SICK TO THE STOMACH.
After that speech given last nite, If you chose not to vote for Obama, then you are still full of rage and you were voting for Hillary because of her name. She clearly showed in her speech that Obama and her share almost identical views with 1 or 2 different approaches between. If you actually did your research on both candidates’ policies you would also see that their policies are IDENTICAL. Like Hillary said “were you in it only for her?” Cause if you vote McCain or don’t vote at all then that is what you are all about and you can care less about the real problems. That he’s inexperienced crap doesn’t work. They even said that this is history because this is the first time both nominees are only senators. Usually the nominees are governors or mayors running for president. It’s time to get in line behind what you truly stand for and not whether your candidate won or not because in all actuality Barack and Hillary are the same besides skin color and gender. Like I said if you vote Republican or don’t vote at all because Hillary is not running for president then you are simply ignorant or ill informed about the policies and should do some research.
im not voting for either one of these crooked politicians…blks think obama is JESUS and will save them from their suffering……IF obama wins he will have to clean up and by the time he finish its time to vote for another pres.
a big IF obama wins the blks will grab his left hand and whites will grab his right hand- tug a war time!
For the people who cant decide who to vote for I will make it simple for you.
If you like Bush and want someone who will be just like him in office then sit at home and Don’t Vote because that’s how McCain will win.
If you want a change – something new from the Bush Administration – then READ where Obama stands on the issues and stop worrying about how many good speeches he gives. Yes, that man is a great speaker but he also has a plan so there is NO reason for an intelligent person to be confused. Either you like McCain’s Plan or you Like Obama’s because one of them will lead this country. I’m tired of people sulking over Hillary losing. Get over it and read up on the other 2 candidates.
I was underwhelmed by Hillary’s speech. It served it’s function…support Obama, placate disappointed HRC supporters.
I have grown completely weary of the people who assume that the black people who support Obama are basing their decision simply on the color of his skin. That somehow they have “handed their choice” over to him because he’s black and for no other reason.
There are a large number of blacks who have done sufficient homework on Obama and are basing their decision on facts and not “nice speeches” and a “nice smile”.
I saw the lady on CNN last night being interviewed by Suzanne Malveaux and unless I missed something…her support seemed simply emotional. I did not hear her give any reasons as to why she thought Hillary was the best choice other than she said that “she saw her future in Hillary”. And that based on HRC’s speech last night, she “looked Presidential”. For all we know, she was basing her support for HRC simply on the fact that she was a woman.
@MEL: It’s commendable that you are a “leader” and not a “follower”, but don’t assume that Obama supporters haven’t done their homework and are supporting him based on facts, not speeches and smiles.
@39
“I have grown completely weary of the people who assume that the black people who support Obama are basing their decision simply on the color of his skin. That somehow they have “handed their choice” over to him because he’s black and for no other reason. There are a large number of blacks who have done sufficient homework on Obama and are basing their decision on facts and not “nice speeches” and a “nice smile”.
^^^^^ I totally AGREE ^^^^^
I agree with #30 Mel B.
I’m not voting for Obama just because he’s black. When I tell people that I’m undecided who to vote for, they look at me like I’m crazy. Like I HAVE to vote for Obama because I’m black, please. Obama STILL hasn’t proved to me that he’s 100% ready for the job for some reason. In my opinion, if Obama wasn’t “HALF BLACK” he wouldn’t be getting all this credit and all this praise. We all know that if he was fully white, some of us would completely dismiss him. And I definitely don’t think that’s right. Don’t get me wrong, a Black President would be great. However, Skin Color won’t change this country, but a person can try. And from what I see, Obama still doesn’t seem ready.
Also, McCain’s votes in the polls have been constantly rising. Sorry to break it to you, but either he’s tied with Obama or he’s light years ahead.
@39 I agree I am disappointed in all the sexism being displayed and overlooked .They always seem to show these women who dont care about the issues ( because Obama and Hilary’s policies are pretty much the same) all they cared about was getting a woman in the white house and now thats over they are turning their backs on a party they were never apart of anyway .These are people who would have never voted for Obama anyway no matter what and yet they always seem to get the air time .
@ #22: That just goes to show you the depth of mental slavery. Sometimes I feel that whites have run such a clean number on black folk in America that they flat out hate themselves.
@# 23: If Hilary was better than Obama, then she would have won fair and square. She had all the advantage in the world, and she still lost. Get over it. Its just too funny to me when I listen to all these weak-minded man-hating feminist cows blow hot air. If you want something, EARN it. You think Obama got where he is by having others (shh.. women) do his work for him? Do you know how moronic you sound?
Dyson’s comment might have been taken out of context (I wouldn’t know as I didn’t hear it) but as much drama and misinformation there is about black women bodies/sexuality. We scream that men only view us as sex objects and big butts or just having a butt is a big thing in the black community isn’t a good look for blacks. He could’ve made his point without mentioning her butt. Simply he could’ve said that the traditional standard of beauty is being challenged by beauty that is standard in the black community or something along that line and everybody, Black, White, Asian, Latina would’ve known he meant a woman with curves!
If Barack wasn’t a black man, the black community would be all up the Clinton’s ass. The black community was so in love with the Clintons until, Barack showed up. I am a black woman and a Hillary supporter. I was not going to jump on the Barack band wagon just because he is a black man.
I can’t even stand listening to the black radio station’s morning show’s anymore. They are so bias. And would someone please put a muzzle on Al Sharpton’s mouth. He is a pain in the ass.
Dyson was completely wrong for the comment…as a grown man and an alleged intellectual he should have known that comment was inappropriate for that time and that place. The only time a comment like that should be made is in private, definitely not on national television.
@44, Forreal….
PREACH!! Exactly what I was trying to say. And they would attack you if you’re black and not voting for Obama..what is that about.
—- Number 42 stop being bassackwards… either they are tied or Obama is ahead…
—– McCain is def not ahead in the game so please stop telling yourselfs that —————-because its not gonna make it any more true…
The minute a black candidate came on the scene, African American loyalties to the Clintons went out the window and supported Obama at a rate of 90% even before this thing got bruising. Hillary Clinton was the better person to become president.
This is coming from a black man.
I agree with #44, I can’t jump on the band wagon of Obama just because he is a black man. That is just silly.
Good points are being made SOME people are voting for Barack because he is black just like SOME people would’ve voted for Hilary (if she had won the nomination) because she was a woman and back in the day people liked Bill. Everyone voting aren’t into politics and don’t know about all the issues. Plus, before Obama won a LOT of blacks said the exact same thing that Hillary supporters are now saying that they wouldn’t vote at all before they voted for Hillary so please let the undecided people wait till they get their proof so they can make their decission.
I thought hillary showed a lot of grace last night.I’m a big fan of hers and all that she has done in the white house and senate.
Who watches TV1? Boo that’s what happens when we try to support black stations-they embarass us!
I see the bitter feminist broads are in full effect today. No one needs to prove sh*t to yall ig’nant asses. You wouldn’t recognize proof if it hit you dead smack in the the face because you’re too busy bleeding spite or man-hating lol. Short and simple, if at this time, anyone is still unclear on the platforms of the presumptive presidential nominees, then they are clearly.
(1) Illiterate,
(2) Too dumb for words, or
(3) Too emotional to be capable of rational judgment
@Forreal
I believe Hillary lost a lot of supporters when it became apparent that she would do/say just about anything to win. Her singlemindedness(don’t care if it’s not a word) and lack of foresight is what is hurting obama’s campaign the most right now. We don’t need someone like that in the white house. Her campaign proved she can’t see beyond the tip of her nose.
I’ve decided to support Obama not because he’s black(although that is a plus) but because he is our best bet for turning the country around. If McCain was black and obama was white I would still be supporting Obama. Clarence Thomas is black and most black people don’t support him.
Hillary supporters who say they won’t vote for Obama are ridiculous. What’s the alternative? A man who is against just about everything Clinton stood for.
To be honest, I wish we could live in a America where Republican views could reign, but that would have to be a perfect world where everyone had common sense, a strong sense of morality and personal responsibility. A large portion of people don’t so we need the government to take care of these people and to protect the country and the rest of us from the irresponsibility of these people.
Im not voting for Obama because he is Black… The 15 White attorneys here have not raised 500K because he is black… Thats laughable. Most are republican and recently voted for Obama. Obviously its something we see that others cant or just disagree with.
Let me say that I worked at the White House during the Clinton administration and I can put it on everything I love that I have never Liked Hillary Clinton personally… When Bill was president (love him), I talked to her and I dont like her as a person but I believe she is very capable of leading us but Obama will be better and it has nothing to do with his color. Their policies are so similar how can you not think he is ready??? Its crazy to assume that we only like him because he is black, if thats the case why didnt Jesse Jackson win or Shirley Chisholm or Alan Keys???? They were black and ran what is so different about them and Obama?
As far as polls go.
http://www.realclearpolit..._mccain_vs_obama-225.html
Obama is ALWAYS leading McCain. There are times when McCain has gotten close to Obama but I have to check this site all the time and he hasnt passed him yet.
OBAMA 08!!!!!!!!!!! even though I live in Canada but im still rooting for him. All ya’ll Americans vote LOL..
I have new found respect for Hillary she did a great job last night!
@47
Completely false! Senator Obama’s main following were caucasians when his campaign began. Many of them had read his book Audacity of Hope or Dreams of My Father. There were very few African-Americans (AA)that were openly for Obaba. Infact, I remember CNN pundits in September shocked that AA weren’t supporting Obama in large numbers. They thought, well if his OWN people won’t support him…
There were several claims by AA, such as Al Sharpton, that he wasnt “black enough” or was “too white”. My counter argument was Hillary a WHITE WOMAN was “black enough”?!??! It was extremley hard for me to openly support Obama when the race began. Not because I didn’t believe in him but because other African-Americans always challenged my support. Many were very skeptical of Obama, he wasn “one of them”. Whatever THAT MEANS! He didn’t understand the “struggle” with his Ivy League education…
The allegiance to the Clintons ONLY BEGAN to wane when Bill Clinton made that racist, and yes it was racist, comment in regards to Obama winning North Carolina (remember comparing him to Jesse Jackson). The Clintons soon began to show their true colors. Senator Clinton used decisive race baiting tactics. People who were Clinton loyalist began to really question their “love for the Clintons”. Yet, most black politicians sided with the Clintons, such as Tubbs-Jones, or waited towards the end of the primary season to endorse Senator Obama, such as James Clyburn of South Carolina who endorsed June 3!
We didn’t support Obama in large numbers in the beginning. To say that is a COMPLETE fallacy. And the few that did in the beginning, such as I, did NOT support Obama because he is Black. However, Hillary supporters made no qualms with openly stating AND THEY STILL DO that they supported Hillary because she was a woman.
WHAT DO YOU WANT OBAMA TO DO???????????
I mean really. For everyone who is saying that Obama needs to PROOVE he is ready – what did Hillary do to prove she was ready that Obama hasn’t? Your going to give this man two months to proove he is ready for PRESIDENT? Talk about setting someone up for failure…. You’ll need to look back moreso than ahead for that. I mean who is really ready for that? And when? The whole point is, we need to be united now. It’s not time to CONTINUE talking about who is better. If you don’t know what obama has done obviously you didnt pay close attention when it was between him and Hillary. Thats over and done with. Either vote democrat, republican or really top yourself and don’t vote at all. This is between Obama and McCain (Hillary was SO right in saying you can’t tell them apart – it’s scary!)
I am CERTAINLY NOT VOTING FOR OBAMA BECAUSE HE IS BLACK, WHY IS THAT ALWAYS THE ASSUMPTION? He’s FAR more than his skin color and if he was white, I’d STILL VOTE FOR HIM! It’s about change, people!
Just get over it. Obama won. Shes not running. I wouldnt have picked her as my running mate either. VP needs to be able to sit on the sidelines and not continuously talk about themselves especially when it’s time to be in support of the other person!!!!
And for those of you who are saying Obama needs to run his own campain, its not Hillary’s job to do it for him – then in the same breath people could say Hillary needs to pay her own debt! Many Hillary supporters are mad that Obama hasnt stepped up and Paid off Hillary’s campain debt (customary to do, I guess…).
The whole point is they need to come together now.
Do I believe Hillary’s speech came from her heart? No. It was very politically correct and the focus was all too often on her. To me, it’s Hillary responsibilty to talk about what Obama has done in efforts to prove to her supporters, like many of you on this page, that Obama deserves this. She didnt do that last night, clearly. It didn’t go far enough for me – however, I’m glad she did it at all.
Hillary Clinton was the better person to become president.
This is coming from a black man.
^ What Bill did is completely different then what Hillary done.Black people wake the fuck up.What makes her better? Her husband.
