POLITICS: MICHELLE OBAMA WITH MILITARY SPOUSES / CLINTONS OVER IT? / NEW CAMPAIGN ADS

Friday, August 8, 2008

Michelle Obama plays a game with students at the Child Study Center at Old Dominion University.

On Wednesday, Michelle Obama participated in a roundtable discussion with military spouses at Old Dominion University in Virginia.

The invitation-only event was a chance for the wife of Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama to meet with military spouses from the community to hear their stories and discuss the unique challenges they face, juggling career and family responsibilities with the added burden of having a spouse serving in the military.

If there’s one thing I’ve learned in these roundtables it’s that when our military goes to war, their families go with them,” she said.

The Obama campaign recently launched Blue Star Families for Obama, an organizing site for military families to take action in the campaign.

CLINTONS OVER IT?

A recent TIME article examines whether Bill and Hillary Clinton have moved past defeat by Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama.

Clinton told a crowd recently that “For so many of my supporters, just like so many of Barack’s supporters, this was a first-time investment of heart and soul and money and effort and sleepless nights and miles of travel. You just don’t turn it off like that.”

Since suspending her presidential campaign in June, Clinton has been “doing all I know to do” to help get the Illinois senator elected, but according to the article:

“In private conversations, associates say, Clinton remains skeptical that Obama can win in the fall. That’s a sentiment some other Democrats believe is not just a prediction but a wish, because it would prove her right about his weaknesses as a general-election candidate and possibly pave the way for her to run again in 2012. Clinton is also annoyed that Obama has yet to deliver on his end of an informal bargain, reached as part of their truce, that each would raise $500,000 for the other. “Hillary has done her part in that regard,” says an adviser. “Obama has not.”

NEW CAMPAIGN ADS

Republican presidential candidate John McCain has a new ad informing us that Washington’s broken and we’re worse off than we were four years ago. “No kidding,” Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama responded. “It took him 26 years to figure it out.”

The new Obama ad (below) stresses that a McCain presidency would be a continuation of Bush, who enjoyed a point increase last month from his all-time low reached in June.

Cosign #1, make sure your register, AND if you are make sure you will have a ballot. College students need to request an absentee ballot be sent to their schools if you cant come home to vote!

I live in FLorida and these trolls sent me my primary absentee ballot way to late, it would have never made it in on time, I was heated!

Anywayz Michelle is SO pretty, Barack is a lucky man.

—–Ditto #10
—–Why does Hillary think that Barack should be responsible for the bills that she
——owes?! That makes absolutely no sense!! I can’t believe she is so concerned
—– with her feelings that she cannot support a canidate that has the potential to
—– to put a democrat in office for the 1st time in 8 yrs! I’m so disappointed with her!
—– The more and more she complains the more she sounds like a child. Clearly,
—– with that attitude she proves that she is not ready to run a nation let alone
—– handle foreign/diplomatic affairs. Shit, she might cry in front of foreign leaders if
—– she does not get her way..lol. Hillary just needs to suck it up and begin
—– some fundraising to pay for HER OWN debt! Shame on her for being so petty!

Original Truth (I don't care if ya get mad)

Friday, August 8, 2008 /

They have an excellent PR person because Michelle is definately touching all bases as a potential First Lady should during the progression of this campaign.

Hillary’s negative energy is far from private…. she didn’t jump on the Obama bandwagon on her own she was shoved to save face in support of being a Democrat and with a perk of being debt free….she is definately holding grudges..Obama should watch out when she hugs him because I think she is using a knife with ridges as she stabs him in the back with her negativity…. Her pride filled admission of “not being able to turn it off” is enough proof of being a bottom feeder.

She wouldn’t have a chance in 2012 unless some miracle candidate surfaces on the Republican side and as it appears most of them seem to be going to jail for sex scandals, fraud or something else that bites them in the arse.

I see you #10. I’m in the SAME predicament, so my hats off to you.. Shit.. Obama don’t have to pay shit to her, he need to pay his own family bills. Everyone knows its harder out here for a Black family than a White one. Plus she’s got a former President for a hubby, so her ass is not starvin. B**h sit down and go find a new life, and stop tearing people down because you didn’t win. I hate sore losers.

I’m surprised that the disturbing image and story about the guy who said he wanted to and will still try to assassinate Barack. Maybe it’ll be posted later, but I have to say that this 2008 presidential election has opened my eyes to a lot of things. One being how pathetic a lot of people are in this world and another is how change is still a hundred plus years away.

My heart sank when I saw the story on the frontpage. I’m so sick of the way this world is and it’s taking a lot out of me.

I am beginnining to get real pissed off at Hilary and Bill Clinton. They are a bunch of hypocrits. They say one thing and then do the another. Look, Hilary lost the nomination, then she went a publicly endorsed Obama. Now she is with this distraction. I knew something was up when she did not stop her campaign but she “suspended” it. what this is doing now is distracting the attention from Obama’s message and puting the focus on the potential conflict. They don’t want Obama to win and therefore arre doing everything possible to ensure he doesn’t.

SORRY, HILARY NEEDS TO SIT HER OLD WRINKLED FAT CANKLED LEGS DOWN; SHE IS DONE, STICK A FORK IN HER. THE TENACITY OF THE CLINTONS TO BE ELECTED PRESIDENT IS SCARY IN THE SENSE THAT THEY APPEAR TO BE CAPABLE OF DOING ANYTHING WILLINGLY FOR THE POSITION. I’M SURE HILARY IS BITTER, BUT THE PEOPLE HAVE SPOKEN ALREADY, WE DON’T WANT YOU, GO SIT DOWN AND WORK ON YOUR MARRIAGE, MAKE SURE NO ONE IS HANGING OFF BILL’S PENIS.

Hilary and Bill are mad because he didn’t pay her debt out. He has his own debt in this campaign. She wasted all that money. She raised over $200 million and why is she in debt. She raised just as much as he did and she just had a terrible campaign.

I hope Obama wins but you must realize it is not guaranteed. Just because we say it is his destiny, does not mean it really is. You can complain all you want about the Clintons, but they are very influential and Obama needs their support and the support of every other Democrat to make this happen. If we don’t all play nice (Obama, Clinton and everyone else) John McCain WILL be the next President.

STOP being so damn emotional.

McCain is on his way back to Congress not the White House, its not even going to be a contest because if we know what is good for us we are going to select the best person for the job, in this case, its Obama period.

Hilary needs to go sit down somewhere, I am a woman and I am so over her. I am also a womanist and I am just calling it how it is another white woman thinking she is entitled. I am so done with her, she will not have it in 2012 just like she didnt have it in 2008.

Clinton era my ass, that ended when Big Billy Bob let that cheap tramp (that set women back 20 years) open her mouth and took it in, yeah its vulgar be so is this belief that we or any other person in this nation owes you anything but a hello thanks for running but we have selected the best person for the job and its not you sorry. His mischief is the reason so many Democrats turned their back on the party and left that idiot steal the election. Now look at our country.

So it wasnt her fault so what, she cant use the good parts without taking on the bad. As anyone seen her in their neighborhood or a hispanic neighborhood since she stop running, of course not, she no longer needs you but she’ll be back in 2012, not if anyone is paying attention.

Barack Obama 2008!!! Register and VOTE!!! VOTE!!! VOTE!!!

Watch the Democratic Convention and see what Bill and Hillary Clinton have up their sleeves. Hillary will try to force her way on the ticket with Obama. The press did an interview with Bill Clinton and asked him if Barack Obama was qualified or ready to be president? He tapped danced all around that question. Since Hillary did not win the democratic election, they don’t want Obama to win in November. They are not for the democratic party, they are for the Clinton party. They keep saying that Hillary was disrespected……………HOW? She lost……….dang!!!

I wanted to go see Michelle Obama so bad at ODU, but I was at work.

The Clintons are really irritating me and Hillary is not the smartest woman. She lost the ballot and in preparation for 2012, you think anyone besides your ” it’s all about women” voters will support you. I’m a woman and I wouldn’t support anything Hillary does because she’s coniving. I wouldn’t support her in 2012 either because of what she is doing now. If the democrats were doing this to her she would cry about how their doing it because she’s a woman. Bill needs to get off his high horse as well. It’s a shame you would rather tell your supporters to basically not participate and boycott because your pride is hurt.

Cosign with #19. Its just sickening. While our media is paying Angelina freaking Jolie $25 million to see pictures of her babies (which people have everyday), we have all these crazy things going on that are much more important. It annoys me that McCain is trying to make it look like Obama is nothing more then a celebrity. Oh please. Does anyone notice that times are tough for everyone and the economy SUCKS? And that we’re paying a lot for EVERYTHING? Dayam!
