Songbird Jazmine Sullivan is gearing up to release her debut album, Fearless on September 23rd. Her first single, the Missy Elliott-assisted “Need U Bad” is blowing up charts, radio and getting lots of video airplay. We’ve been talking about Jazmine for a while now, so I am so excited about the final project. She really has some great material and I am so pleased that the world is finally getting a chance to hear her beautiful voice.

Love her but everyone was mad about the Beyonce skin lighting..what about Jazmine’s picture…I actually thought that it was that little girl who sings 16@ war…not a good look..they should keep it true to her beautiful dark tone..other than that I hope she does well.

I have to agree with you about that album cover and some of the other pics I’ve seen where they lighten her up. They look horrible and I don’t like it. Her natural complection is gorgeous. I hope she doesn’t get caught up in the industry looks with the long weave and lightened photos and sharp noses.
Anyways I can’t wait for this album because I’m definitely buying it.

ooooooookay so Im a bit confused… NOT THAT IT MATTERS, i will repeat NOT THAT IT MATTERS, but the girl is brown in one pic yellow on the “cover” in black and white in one pic and looking on the fair side in the middle pic… Now obviously the cover pic has some special effect, but Im wondering why they wouldnt use her natural tone. I personally have had my fill of high yellow female r&b artist, and I would definitely appreciate her being marketed as a talented brown skinned artist….

Why the hell is she so light in the cover? She looks spanish or something? WTF? Seriously… if you didn’t “lighten” her other features, why do her skin tone??? Wow… that’s a little disturbing. Anywho, I’m still gonna cop her album but maybe digitally so I don’t have to support this fuckery.
Oh and #20, B&W does have an effect of skin tone along w/ the lighting BUT it shouldn’t effect DRASTICALLY the richness in tone. Someone of her natural hue should come off A LOT darker in B&W photos. That B&W is obviously photoshopped. Hell, I love B&W and sepia toned pics. As a result I often redo my pics like that. So while I’m way lighter then her… in my B&Ws (even w/ facial lighting), I’m darker than that lol!

I love this new girl but why when they are promotion pictures… they have photos of the artist waaaay lighter than they actually are?… like the photos above… they have a natural photo of her but the second two are alot ligher her… they did this with janell monet and beyonce… all these women are pretty without being lightened up

Here we go again. Why the hell did they make her look like a light skin girl for her album cover? You obviously se that they made her light bright. Especially if you compare it with the 2nd pic. But I wish her all the success nonetheless. She’s a talented, beautiful , DARK-SKIN GIRL. My goodness, im light-skin and this shit gets on my nerves. So I can imagine how the darker ladies feel.
