I just dont understand the world today. Why is it that we as black people continue to idolized lightskin females with mediocre talent, but yet turn our backs on darskin sisters who are tremendously talented just to conform to a white standard of beauty. Are we really that self hating as a race. Im tired of every single black “it girl” being fair skin or dam near half-white looking all up in your face, on every other magazine while truly black lookin females are ignored. The beyonces, halle berrrys, rihannas, cant be our only standards of beauty. There are other way more talented females than keri hilson, cough nicole sullivan, but do not get play cuz they aren’t light brown or high yellow.

Yes Keri looks lighter here but I’ve seen a million pix of Beyonce, Rihana and Halle looking damn near white that I didn’t even recognise them. But when those photos were on CL none of the stans bothered to mention the fact that the above women have evidently taken a few shades off their complexion.
Anyhoo I don’t like Keri’s music but I like the stuff she’s written for other artists, she needs to learn to give herself the best songs and not give them to the likes of Britney spears etc.
