OMG! #20 tell me where, in the 19 post before yours someone praised the baby’s fair skin? I think they were expressing their opinions on how the baby is darker than they thought she would be and may get darker, and that is only mentioned because the baby is of mixed race. I am so sick of people jumping down someones throat because they say a person with a light complexion is beautiful. Do people do that when darker skinned people get complimented? “Why she gotta be cute cause she dark skinned?!!!” LOL! Not saying its never happened, but I can’t recall one instance. Off that subject, for the people who post about if it was a dark baby it would not be considered cute. When Diddys little girls were on her almost all post said they were cute. You point out color more than anyone. It is like if someone is light they can’t be cute because you feel dark skin blacks are not represented.

It is what you feel, I used to be so self concious when I was young because I was the light long hair girl. That stuff used to bother me because I didn’;t know why I was getting picked on.

When I am around white people I am not light or dark I am black and that is how they treat me. They will call me nigger with the quickness and they are not thinking about whether I am light with so called good hari or dark with so called bad hair.

We keep this color thing going because we all feel insecure. And the bad thing is we start by projecting it on a 5 1/2 month old baby. Can’t she just be cute or not cute if you don’t think so

#99, I have a life thank you very much, and in it I think in that close up shot, the baby looks slightly Downs Syndrome. That is not a stab at DS kids, just an observation. My neighbor’s baby has DS and in that pic, I saw a resemblance. On second look, its just the shape of the eyes and the mouth.

i am actually a white woman with a bi-racial child and i have just noticed how black people gush over his light eyes like they’re so desirable. Nobody mentions that a brown eyed baby has beautiful color eyes. And i just think it’s something to think about. Why do people find blue/ green/ grey eyes so attractive. I think we’ve been programmed to think that certain thing a beautiful. I just want my child to grow up appreciating everyone’s beauty equally. That’s all i was trying to say. The baby is gorgoeus! Just like I knew she would be:-) She doesn’t really look much like Halle or Halle’s boyfriend yet, but you can already tell that she has great genes. That little girl does not knwo what great fortune and geneology she was born into!

In regards to how children are born with light eyes. It does have something to do with melanin in the skin, but some brown and dark skin people do have light eyes that are real (ex. Stacey Dash, KD Aubert). Its more about lack of pigmentation in the eyes than melanin in the skin. If someone’s ancestor or parent had light eyes, its possible that the trait can be passed onto future generations.

After reading some of these comments I have realized that baby Nahla has not only inherited her mother pretty genes…she has inherited her HATERS as well. Baby Nahla should wear a T-Shirt that says “Hi Hater”!!

To me, the baby looks like a BABY!! People don’t have to fall over themselves, but to flat out say the baby isn’t cute, is hating period! It has nothing to do with opinion. @#74 I don’t think your theory is 100% correct. I have a friend that is brown skinned with natural gray eyes. And noone in her immediate family (mother, brothers, sister, father) have lighter eyes or are lighter in complexion.
